Things other people do that you just don't 'get'

Mine are -

Starting to drive off, then putting your seat belt on whilst trying to control the car at the same time. Why? It can't save more than a second, looks awkward, and is dangerous!

Putting bananas into a little plastic bag before putting them in the trolley - the only reason I can see for the plastic bags is to keep loose veg together, or to keep edible parts clean, neither of which applies to bananas, so what's the point?

Taking shopping trollies back to the trolley park but not actually connecting them up with the ones already there - you've done about 95% of the effort, is it really that hard to make someone else's life a bit easier by putting it away properly?

( Yes, mine do seem to be mostly supermarket related but I suppose that's where I come across other people most of the time!)

Actually, I do have one non-supermarket one - people only using one half of a set of double doors when there is a queue of people all wanting to go through - they all line up patiently to go through the one door rather than just OPENING THE OTHER ONE!!

You dont get women drinking pints? I dont drink beer but thats a personal choice as i dont like the taste but i dont care who else does

FB check ins at the hopsital/doctor-then a ton of people asking whats wrong and the op says oh nothing just a blood test

Gwenhwyfar · 11/06/2019 21:14

"Not making it seem any more appealing than just getting in the shower."

Quicker and better for skin though.

CathyorClaire · 11/06/2019 21:24

Women drinking pints at my local

Shock

Having a shower without washing their hair. How do people not still feel dirty? Confused (I appreciate that I will be in the minority on the this one)

MorondelaFrontera · 11/06/2019 21:36

Having a shower without washing their hair.

I usually take a couple of showers a day, can't be bothered to wash my hair every single time. It gets greasy if I was it too often as well.

Moominfan · 11/06/2019 21:37

Icelandic

I've got Afro hair, very dry, if I washed my hair every day it would be an absolute mess.

pictish · 11/06/2019 21:40

I often shower without shampooing my hair. My hair is a short, choppy cut and has a tendency to be dry. It looks and styles much better the day or two after it has been washed. I wash my hair maybe twice a week but shower every day. It would be crap for my hair to wash it every time so I don’t.

pictish · 11/06/2019 21:42

Plus I have dyed red hair and frequent washing kills the colour fast.
Twice a week is enough for my hair.

MrsMiggins37 · 11/06/2019 21:44

How do people not still feel dirty?

Well I don’t generally feel dirty when I get in the shower anyway. I don’t know how you think someone might feel dirty overall just because they hadn’t washed their hair? Odd.

I only need to wash my hair a couple of times a week. It would end up like straw if I washed it every day. Plus it’s really thick and I can’t be bothered drying it.

IcelandicYoghurt · 11/06/2019 21:46

I know loads of people do it - and I know they're not actually "dirty"! It just seems really bizarre to me and I can't imagine ever doing it myself if I had any option at all! My head would feel all icky Shock

lovemeorleaveme · 11/06/2019 21:47

People who are natural red heads and dye it. I would love to have red/ginger hair - beautiful and unique
People buying bottled water - plastic waste plus expensive.
People who have their nails done weekly but are always complaining they're broke and can't avoid food, bills etc..
People who spend loads take away coffee's or bottles of water. Went to theme park the other day, took my refil bottles. Water cost £2 there. Saw a family of 4 each have a bottle -£8?

pictish · 11/06/2019 21:49

£8 for four bottles of water. Gosh.

pictish · 11/06/2019 21:53

I’m not a natural redhead who dyes my hair if that’s what you’re thinking (I don’t know if that’s how my post read) - I am dark (well, pretty grey now) but my hair is dyed bright red. It fades really quickly so I try to prolong it by not overwashing.
I don’t feel dirty for not having washed my hair. I’ve never washed it daily.

mokapot · 11/06/2019 21:58

Chewing gum and spitting it on the floor

Not eating the end slice in a loaf of bread

Kids shouting “mum, mum, MMMUUUMMMMM” from other side of house: just come and tell me to my face

Dizzynic101 · 11/06/2019 22:09

I also leave the trolley on the path if I have my baby with me, I don't think a baby should ever be left unattended in the car while a trolley is put away. If something were to ever happen, I'd never forgive myself for choosing to put a trolley away over being with my baby.

LoafofSellotape · 11/06/2019 22:21

Dizzynic101 please don't, a relatively small gust of wind sends those things flying really easily ,right into other cars. Why not just carry your baby ?

lhastingsmua · 12/06/2019 00:44

I shower multiple times a day but wash my hair about 3 times a week. Washing everyday just isn’t appropriate for certain hair types eg curly, coloured, damaged etc and it will just dry out the hair further.

Blow drys at that frequency and manipulating your hair whilst wet so often can actually just ruin your hair and make it look/feel dirty, because your scalp may start to produce more oil to overcompensate for the constant washing leaving it greasy & weighed down.

isabellerossignol · 12/06/2019 02:02

Dizzynic101 please don't, a relatively small gust of wind sends those things flying really easily ,right into other cars.

Or into a small child. Or other people carrying their babies. Hmm

Exactly. Do you never leave your baby alone for a few minutes while you go to the loo or make a cup of tea? If you don't feel comfortable putting the trolley away for other people's safety, it may be best to order your groceries online.

pictish · 12/06/2019 06:40

I always put my trolley away in the designated spots when mine were tiny. They all survived.

Roussette · 12/06/2019 07:15

How ridiculous and precious not to put your trolley away because you have a baby. How on earth do the rest of the population cope with this? I had two and always put trolleys back.

isabellerossignol · 12/06/2019 07:25

Now there is something I don't 'get'. People who think that basic manners and general decency, obeying the little unspoken 'rules' that make society function nicely, don't apply to them because they have a baby.

BertieBotts · 12/06/2019 07:37

I don't understand what is going to happen to a baby strapped into a car seat within the thirty seconds it takes to replace a trolley.

Roussette · 12/06/2019 07:45

Why can;t the poster park next to the trolley park? Ridiculous to just leave a trolley hanging round in a car park because 'I will never leave a baby unattended in a car'.

Parking next to the trolley park means you are 1 second away.

CherryPavlova · 12/06/2019 07:53

Dizzynic101. You’ve just the one baby then? Sorry that’s outrageously precious and really shabby towards other people.
