Mine are -

Starting to drive off, then putting your seat belt on whilst trying to control the car at the same time. Why? It can't save more than a second, looks awkward, and is dangerous!

Putting bananas into a little plastic bag before putting them in the trolley - the only reason I can see for the plastic bags is to keep loose veg together, or to keep edible parts clean, neither of which applies to bananas, so what's the point?

Taking shopping trollies back to the trolley park but not actually connecting them up with the ones already there - you've done about 95% of the effort, is it really that hard to make someone else's life a bit easier by putting it away properly?

( Yes, mine do seem to be mostly supermarket related but I suppose that's where I come across other people most of the time!)

Actually, I do have one non-supermarket one - people only using one half of a set of double doors when there is a queue of people all wanting to go through - they all line up patiently to go through the one door rather than just OPENING THE OTHER ONE!!

OP posts:

The workers at my former local health club who puff fags right outside the front door.

Women who walk or run whilst puffing on a fag

Women drinking pints at my local

All the people who will get offended at my post even though I have not insulted them personally 🤷‍♀️

poopypants · 11/06/2019 14:20

Euromum anyone who does any of the things you diss will clearly be offended. You don't need to actually name names to offend a person. If I started on about ghastly Euro women who have Aussi kids, you would rightly be a bit 'say whaaat'???? Having said that, I'm totally with you re the smoking/fitness juxtaposition

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 11/06/2019 14:59

The minimum spend to get shopping delivered is actually quite high so I've never done it.

I go to the supermarket pretty much every day as DP has the car for work so I have to shop on foot. I just buy what we need for the day.

I have never done a weekly shop as we never know if we're going to be in to eat, or might make last minute plans.

BertieBotts · 11/06/2019 14:59

Why has this thread become "dissing"? I thought it was about things we didn't understand?

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 11/06/2019 15:03

I am also amazed that people on this thread eat their evening meal at 5! I never ate that early even as a child. It's still the afternoon.

Whisky2014 · 11/06/2019 15:20

Because people can't accept others do things differently. Basically.

LoafofSellotape · 11/06/2019 15:36

Most people I know eat between 5- 6.30pm.

LoafofSellotape · 11/06/2019 15:42

Personally I'd prefer to eat a big meal at midday.

MorondelaFrontera · 11/06/2019 15:54

I go to the supermarket pretty much every day

good grief, if you are happy with it nothing wrong with it, but aren't you bored of the damn place?! Sounds horrific to me!

CherryPavlova · 11/06/2019 16:56

No, unless a nursery tea or old people’s home, I don’t know anyone that eats as early as 5-6:30.

category12 · 11/06/2019 16:59

I have never done a weekly shop as we never know if we're going to be in to eat, or might make last minute plans.

But, but, but most food will last another day if you happen to go out? Confused

Buying what you need each day sounds a very expensive way of doing it.

FionasWineShow · 11/06/2019 17:03

I go to the supermarket pretty much every day

I would pay good money not to do this.

SupermassiveBlackHo · 11/06/2019 17:10

DH goes every day on the way home from work. It works out much cheaper for us as we only buy what we need, not a load of junk we fancy. There's also no food waste.

I have a medical condition involving my stomach, so I don't know what I can eat from one day to the next - it's the only thing that works for us and DH prefers to do that rather than waste food.

MorondelaFrontera · 11/06/2019 17:18

SupermassiveBlackHo
it doesn't sound pleasant at all, sorry to hear that.
It's not the same as not bothering to "plan" meals AT ALL. If fridges were invented, and an upgrade on ice box, it was to free people from shopping every single day.

pluckyfeathers · 11/06/2019 17:22

Washing in a basin of water. I am forced to do this at work. Ewwww just ewww I don’t get it its so unhygienic!

pluckyfeathers · 11/06/2019 17:22

Washing up btw*

SupermassiveBlackHo · 11/06/2019 17:25

I suppose not, if we could plan meals I think he'd still pop to the shop every day anyway, as he enjoys it and we are literally round the corner.

redspider1 · 11/06/2019 17:36

We eat between 5.30 and 6.30 as we eat lunch at 12-1 so 5/6 hrs is a long time as I don’t snack.

poopypants · 11/06/2019 17:52

category12 why would daily shopping be more expensive than weekly? Still the same amount of food and likely to be less wastage as we always end up with loads of stuff (usually vege and dairy) that we don't end up eating and it goes bad.

NewAccount270219 · 11/06/2019 18:45

Why has this thread become "dissing"? I thought it was about things we didn't understand?

It's quite a fine line and this thread has definitely crossed it a few times!

The post being referred to certainly did - you can't possibly 'not understand' that women might like to drink pints (it's possible that you find beer such an unpleasant taste that you can't imagine how anyone likes it, but it wouldn't just be 'women', then) so the implication that there's something wrong with women drinking pints is pretty clear.

LadySainsburySeal · 11/06/2019 19:06

Women drinking pints at my local

I've seen the vicar (a female) neck 4 pints of bitter at the Christmas dinner. She went WAY up in my estimation then. Grin

Shades of Vicar Of Dibley. ;)

bebeboeuf · 11/06/2019 19:08

I’d have a pint

Nothing better on a hot day after a 10 mile hike

I don’t do it as often now as I don’t want the extra calories

SupermassiveBlackHo · 11/06/2019 19:11

I was always told that drinking pints wasn't ladylike. Fuck that. Though I can't drink them sometimes as my hand doesn't fit round the glass - the taller thinner ones are better

bebeboeuf · 11/06/2019 19:17

Pint glass with a handle is even better Wink

Savoury99 · 11/06/2019 19:19

Women drinking pints at my local

I know, what's the world coming to?

Not offended because I only drink wine but are you having a laugh? You're so funny.
