Several "friends" have shared a video on facebook showing a women pretending to feed a teddy and then punching it repeatedly when it refuses (she pretends it's refusing the food) so that she can get her young child to eat.

People are finding it hilarious but I think it's a horrific thing to do to a child and it's abusive. The poor child looks terrified

surely this isn't funny though? AIBU?

I reported this video to Facebook, they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I replied asking why they allowed videos showing threats of violence to children and coersive control was ok. Again, reply said the video didn't cross their guidelines.

If it had been an adult threatening violence (and demonstrating quite clearly what they planned to do) I wonder if it would be taken seriously, in a DV type situation? I hate the idea that it's thought to be ok or funny even because it's a child. A child that looks fucking terrified by its own mother (I assume).

Even if it was staged is that not bad enough?

"Hey son, come here, I want to film your mother threating to bash your head against a table"
ha ha fucking ha

No! It sounds awful. I'd cry if I saw it.
