To think the video of the woman hitting a teddy is not funny?

Several "friends" have shared a video on facebook showing a women pretending to feed a teddy and then punching it repeatedly when it refuses (she pretends it's refusing the food) so that she can get her young child to eat.

People are finding it hilarious but I think it's a horrific thing to do to a child and it's abusive. The poor child looks terrified

1 person has commented with similar thoughts and has been told to get a sense of humour.

surely this isn't funny though? AIBU?

SilverDapple and the people commenting "got to try this" Angry

Even though it's meant as a joke and even if the child is completely fine (I still don't agree with it though) it's terrible that people are sharing it and thinking it's a good idea to try. So it's not harmless fun anyway you look at it. From what a pp has said it looks like it's not the only version as well Sad

It feels like the world is going backwards these days

I think I've seen this video, the woman is wearing a zebra print dress?

I found it it horrifying. How can they think it's funny to put that sort of fear into an infant?! They must be bloody thick.

MarshaBradyo · 07/06/2019 17:18

Even Black Mirror can’t keep up with this sort of crap

I wonder how the parent would feel about the threat of violence and being videoed

Idiots

formerbabe · 07/06/2019 17:20

I saw it too.

Thought it was awful. Not funny

Seaandsand83 · 07/06/2019 17:22

I was so shocked by it and looked at the comments, not one person criticising the parents! I keep thinking about it.

seasideramble · 07/06/2019 17:22

Grucious yes that's the one

I haven't seen the cheese throwing one

I haven’t seen it but she will no doubt wonder what went wrong if her child grows up a thug and bully Hmm so many awful videos are shared on social media encouraging harm to people and animals all in the name of “fun”

Not sure if I’m allowed to share it but This is the link I was sent cos I’m not on Facebook. It’s really quite horrible.

Wide0penSpace · 07/06/2019 17:42

I saw it too and also thought it was awful. Not only is she scaring her child with her aggressive behaviour, children also learn by imitation. Look at the Bobo Doll experiments in the 50’s- children who observed adults acting aggressively to dolls copied that behaviour.

seasideramble · 07/06/2019 17:42

To the poster whip said the child looked well loved and well looked after. I've just seen another video from the (i think) the same woman involving hitting

Baloonphobia · 07/06/2019 17:46

I expected her to give it a tap, not beat the sh*t out of it. I can't believe anyone thinks that this is funny or an appropriate way to interact with a child.

Aprillygirl · 07/06/2019 17:57

Wtf that's awful! Not only is she scaring the shit out of that poor child, but she is teaching him that violence is the way to go.Not to mention the fact that although of course it is inanimate that is possibly his much loved teddy,of which he should be taught to cuddle and love not to abuse. Imagine if he now does that to an animal?

WiddlinDiddlin · 07/06/2019 17:59

It is horrific, and I think it is psychological abuse/mental abuse!

BeautifulWintersMorning · 07/06/2019 17:59

That's revolting

MadamMMA · 07/06/2019 18:09

I haven’t seen it but I have seen one of the cheese ones where the parent slapped a cheese slice in her toddlers face to get likes..

PopcornZoo · 07/06/2019 18:25

Awful

pisspawpatrol · 07/06/2019 18:38

That video is awful. The child looks bewildered and frightened.

tinnitusqueen · 07/06/2019 18:40

I have reported it to Facebook. Do the same.
The lady's profile is full of Christian stuff. So i'm even more surprised and sad that she chooses to promote violent play in this way. If nothing else she's humiliated her little boy in front of several million people.

seasideramble · 07/06/2019 18:59

tinnitus I did report it and they said it doesn't go against their standards Hmm

seasideramble · 07/06/2019 18:59

maybe if they get more reports they'll do something

NewAccount270219 · 07/06/2019 19:08

Eurgh, I regret watching that. It's horrible. And clearly planned, which is somehow worse - she didn't do it off the top of her head, they had the whole thing set up.

Everyone else might be laughing but the little boy isn't - he looks scared and confused.

MashedSpud · 07/06/2019 19:12

Poor child is terrified. He sits up straight and then eats the food without refusal.

There are so many ways to encourage kids to eat without being a psychopath.

GiBlues · 07/06/2019 19:16

Exactly the poor boy looks traumatised. Why people think it funny is beyond me 🤷🏼‍♀️

NauseousMum · 07/06/2019 19:18

Some parents are disgusting. I once saw a video where the Dad set up his toddler son, having him naked in with a bunch of chickens. Guess what the chicken pecked and yanked? Poor baby was in tears, the cunt was laughing.
