Of all the things to make tax free! I had no idea

Wish they could move it across to making childcare tax deductible

Fuckfuckfuck123 · 06/06/2019 08:13

Thanks gilbert

Your right, no where near enough bank to take the variance swings.

I mostly got profit from 2ups. With football finished i need to read up on other ways to make money from it.

I don't understand MB. It's posted about a lot on here. How can you all be gaining hundreds a week? Someone must be losing and it won't be the bookies. Either that or it's some dodgy loophole being exploited?

Fuckfuckfuck123 · 06/06/2019 08:17

janetforpresident thanks for sharing about your friend. Sorry to hear she got addicted.

It wont happen again. I dont like this feeling. It's far worse than the feeling of winning, in that it impacts me more. I wont be chasing my loses.

Surely they rig online slot machines (even more so than irl).

Fuckfuckfuck123 · 06/06/2019 08:18

Are they ? The odds any better for the french open ? I always found the odds for 2ups on paddy terrible, even with a power up.

Just stop it!!! Go out for a drink with friends instead of wasting £10 on gaming.

Matched betting is NOT gambling
It makes me around £300-400 a month

MonkeyfaceThereturn · 06/06/2019 08:32

I have a separate bank account. Sometimes you have to lose to win.

So I started with £25. I got to the point where I could withdraw £2k a month without it leaving a dent. Sometimes I'd lose a few ££ on the casino, other times I'd win £££. Like business, you have to spend to profit.

But my personal bank account it never touched. Ever.

It is LITERALLY taking money off the bookies. And it's classed in the government's eyes as gambling, so tax free. Have to use a separate bank though as otherwise mortgage company would think I had a problem 😂

But again. For people who don't understand. It's not gambling. It's a 100% win rate. You bet on the same horse to win and lose. There is no other outcome!

Lost5stone · 06/06/2019 08:33

I did matched betting, made about £3k, but didn't have the time to keep it up and I nearly made an error (completely my fault) that would have lost me £1k so it scared me. I wouldn't touch the slots as I know I would try to be too risky. Betting on horses/football/whatever didn't bother me as I have no interest but I find the slots fun. Not worth the risk to start for me.

Lost5stone · 06/06/2019 08:34

Sorry I forgot to say I think matched betting is great, but if you have that sort of nature I think you need to stay well away from the casinos

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/06/2019 08:38

The racing offers are still on though, the tennis, golf, best odds guaranteed . All still going.

PegLegAntoine · 06/06/2019 08:40

I’ve been intrigued by this for a while I must admit. But I am so paranoid, I’m good at the maths I learned in college 😂 but this addles my little brain and I’d be so worried I’d mess up.

pepperpot99 · 06/06/2019 08:41

Yeah I feel you.....I smoke the odd crack pipe now and again but I'm no addict. I can stop. I'm not ill. Same with the smack. Just now and again, I'm absolutely on top of it. Yes it costs me hundreds of ££££ but it's my money.

Cagliostro · 06/06/2019 08:43

(Sorry, as you were folks)

In football it is “win” or “not win” presumably, because of draws? As opposed to lose I mean. I’m easily confused

YesQueen · 06/06/2019 08:45

@pepperpot99 Hmm
Maybe try reading what it actually is
https://www.theguardian.com/money/2010/jul/24/free-bets-bookies

Fuckfuckfuck123 · 06/06/2019 08:45

pepperpot matched betting is hardly comparable to taking drugs.

Having a drink of alcohol does not make you an alcoholic.

Ive gambled. Once. It does not make me an addict. It makes me an idiot, but not an addict.

jarofheart · 06/06/2019 08:48

I really don't get how matched betting works. Do you have to sign up with multiple email addresses and cards? Don't you run out of websites to use?

With slot machines, those sites have a setting where you can only bet a certain amount in a certain period. It's up to you to set it up on your account. I've got one I use for fun and I've set limits so i can't go over. I can adjust the limits but it takes a while to reset and by that time the urge to bet more has gone.

MonkeyfaceThereturn · 06/06/2019 08:48

www.profitaccumulator.co.uk explanation]]

MonkeyfaceThereturn · 06/06/2019 08:50

Ugh I can't link! Anyway, read it. Then read it again. Have ONE go. With a few pounds. It's like anything, terrifying until you know what you're doing!

Then stop. Read again. Read more. Learn as you go. If you cock up, only cock up from your profits. So you're not actually losing 'your' money. You won't though. If you follow the bullet points!
