Your DCs started walking?

OP posts:
Lonecatwithkitten · 05/06/2019 18:56

She never crawled, started cursing at 5 months and walked the day she turned 11 months.

Lonecatwithkitten · 05/06/2019 18:56

Crusing, the spell check is determined to have cursing.

MrsSarahSiddons · 05/06/2019 18:57

Because it’s cruising, not crusing.

MrsSarahSiddons · 05/06/2019 18:58

But I did like the idea of the 5 month old cursing.

Daffodil2018 · 05/06/2019 19:00

What's cruising? Confused

QuickRedFox · 05/06/2019 19:01

2.5 months

Spanneroo · 05/06/2019 19:03

DD1 took forever to walk after cruising as we had very slippery laminate floors (even OH and I slipped occasionally). DD2 went from crawling to cruising to walking in less than a month!

MRex · 05/06/2019 19:05

Trying to crawl at 5 months, weird crawl at 7 months, nice smart crawl at 11 months.
Cruising at 8 months, 2 independent steps at 12 months, walking like a drunk but far at 14 months.

whyohwhyowhydididoit · 05/06/2019 19:06

I am confused. Mine crawled/bum shuffled, then walked. I’ve never heard of cruising. Is it walking round whilst holding onto furniture? Neither of mine did that either.

m0therofdragons · 05/06/2019 19:07

My dtds - dtd2 cruised for 4 months but wouldn't walk for ages. Dtd1 never cruised, saw her sister walking and by the next day she was walking (very wobbly and like a drunk).

Knockthreetimes · 05/06/2019 19:09

Mine started cruising at 9 months he has just turned one and started to do the odd steps here and there

Thatsnotmyotter · 05/06/2019 19:11

Yes cruising is just using the furniture to get around. I didn’t even realise DS was doing it until DH said ‘oh yeah he’s been doing that for ages’ earlier!

BertieBotts · 05/06/2019 19:18

Ages!! DS1 cruised 2 days after he started crawling which if my record book is correct made him 8 months and 12 days. Everyone reckoned he'd be walking before a year. I even saw him take two steps unassisted between the coffee table and a toy at 10 months, but he didn't realise he'd done it, and didn't actually start walking until he was 16 months old.

He was the first to cruise and last to walk in our NCT group.

DS2 is 9 months and crawling, pulling up and trying his hardest to stand. No cruising yet. But I have a feeling he will go the other way - cruise very little if at all.

sittingonacornflake · 05/06/2019 19:19

A few months I think.

Sorry that's vague.

Longer than I expected anyway.

StandardPoodle · 05/06/2019 19:59

Cruising at 9 months, walking at 12 months, only crawled after he walked!

Lifeover · 05/06/2019 20:10

We went on a cruise when ds was 8 months and he took his first steps at 12 months so about 4 months. We’ve been on several cruises since and he has kept walking. - hope that helps

percheron67 · 05/06/2019 20:12

I thought this was going to be about holidays …………………..

Sassifrass · 05/06/2019 20:17

My dd was so adept at cruising that she kept doing it from around 9 months and seemed unwilling or unable to walk independently. We went on holiday when she was around 14 months and, presumably because she wasn’t so used to the positioning of her ‘props’ she just started walking totally confidently. Not sure if she would have done it had we not taken away her habitual ‘routes’.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 05/06/2019 20:20

My LO was cruising about 8/9 months but didn't walk until just before 13 months

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 05/06/2019 20:21

DD1 cruised at around seven months, bumshuffled soon after, crawled at 12 months, walked at 13 months.

DD2 crawled at 5 months, can't remember exactly on the cruising but have a video of her pushing a walker across the room at 8 months, walked at 12 months.

PowerslidePanda · 05/06/2019 20:25

We went on a cruise when ds was 8 months and he took his first steps at 12 months so about 4 months. We’ve been on several cruises since and he has kept walking. - hope that helps

Grin

My daughter took her first unaided steps on a cruise ship. In answer to the OP, we were about 2 days into the sailing Grin

Ahem... Serious answer - about 3 months.

HarrietM87 · 05/06/2019 20:27

Cruised before he could crawl at about 7 months, crawled at 8 months, walked at 11 months.

Oysterbabe · 05/06/2019 20:28

A long time, 5 or 6 months here.

soundsystem · 05/06/2019 20:32

Mine took ages! Started cruising at 8 or 9 months and then didn't walk until. 17 months!

Poetryinaction · 05/06/2019 20:32

Between 4 and 6 months I think. For all 3 of mine.
