...to be dreading a triple whammy on my fanny?

I've been waiting for a date for treatment on my nether regions. Today the hospital phoned with a cancellation appointment for the beginning of next week. Now I'm bricking it. I've now got a D&C, polypectomy and the marsupialisation of a bartholyns cyst to look forward to. Oh happy day. 😬 If anyone has any words of advice/comfort/humour to give me, I'd be eternally grateful.

Thought this was going to be a thread about the 1990s version of Sabrina the Teenage Witch Sad

HelloViroids · 04/06/2019 18:58

Good luck OP! No experience, but lots of blind faith - you can do it!Flowers

@Dewdew - shake your whammy fanny, funky song, funky song....

RandomMess · 04/06/2019 19:00

I thought you were expecting triplets 🤣

Getting rid of the B cyst will be worth it or was it just mine that was agony??

Justmuddlingalong · 04/06/2019 19:09

😁 No triplets for me. I'm of a certain age. An age where the only things I grow now are random chin hairs and the odd bollock. 😕

I'm off to hospital this week for a problem "down there" too, I'm bricking it also, be brave, you can do it, I'm sending you good vibes xx

BalloonSlayer · 04/06/2019 19:10

marsupialisation! Grin

Is that the medical term . . . eeek?

newcupcake · 04/06/2019 19:12

It thought triplets too 🤣

Justmuddlingalong · 04/06/2019 19:14

Yeah marsupialisation. 😁😁 The consultant gave me an information leaflet on marsupialisation. I thought it was a flier for "Skippy, The Movie." 😉

I had a bit of a seeing to 'down there' after the birth of my DS - I was dreading it. BUT I was in for the day, was knocked out and it was all surprisingly fine. Yours sounds more complicated I grant you - but I got LOTS of sympathy and I wasn't actually in much pain afterwards - win win!! Good luck.xx

Bluetrews25 · 04/06/2019 19:19

Will you be having a GA? Or sedation and spinal? I've had sedation and spinal for slightly more invasive procedure and it was a breeze.

Justmuddlingalong · 04/06/2019 19:25

Consultant wants to use GA, do he can have a good rummage apparently.

“The odd bollock” 😂😂😂

Those bartholin cysts can be total agony! Sorting that out will be such a good job done! I was put under general anaesthetic both times for that little pita (was an emergency case though).

Are you sure they’re going to do it while you’re conscious? Have some Wine and Flowers if so!

I’d put in my usual request when it comes to operations “just knock me out and do whatever you need to do.”

It really is preferable to over-familiarisation/knowing too many details about non-optional procedures.

Good luck OP! It’ll be so good to get them all out of the way in a mega-whammy Smile

MissBehaves · 04/06/2019 19:27

Sorry - crosspost

RandomMess · 04/06/2019 19:31

Hopefully you get the day in hospital left alone by all family??? Could be bliss?

Justmuddlingalong · 04/06/2019 19:31

Stop the bus, @MissBehaves!
I was put under general anaesthetic both times for that little pita
Twice? It came back? 😲
No I'm definitely having a general.

greenwaterbottle · 04/06/2019 19:31

I had my cyst marsupialised. It's come back twice since. Bastard

user1465335180 · 04/06/2019 19:32

So, do you get to take the kangeroo home with you after the Op or is it a carer marsupial just for the hospital visit? I know people knock the NHS but I think that's excellent service.

I hope all goes well for you OP, may your stitches dissolve quickly and may your nether regions be at peace

You're selling it like the famous MN spa day @RandomMess.

HaroldsSocalledBluetits · 04/06/2019 19:34

Wow that is quite the trilogy. I think your fanny needs to be on one of those extreme remodelling surgery shows with a voiceover. Definitely go for the GA. And get codeine for afters. I had a rummage and excision under local and it counts as one of my five worst days. And I've been to Hull and everything.

Justmuddlingalong · 04/06/2019 19:35

🤣🤣🤣

I self-diagnosed myself with a Bartholin cyst- not sure it was as it went away on its own but whatever I had I was in complete agony. So much so that I od'd on painkillers. Issues down there are never fun, I couldn't even bring myself to go the gp. Wishing you a straightforward and speedy recovery, OP. Flowers

RandomMess · 04/06/2019 19:37

GrinGrinGrinGrin

I got 2 days off taxi duties post GA bloody marvellous it was.

Cryalot2 · 04/06/2019 19:38

You will be glad to get rid of the Bartholins .
So painful .But the relief after .
I have had it a couple of times.

Nousernameforme · 04/06/2019 19:38

Do you craft or have any good books you've been looking forward to? Will they keep you in if you ask nicely? Play your cards right and you could get a few days of relative peace spa day be damned

ittakes2 · 04/06/2019 19:38

You are having a GA - you will be fine! I have had 3 womb ops under a general.
