Just that really.
Has anyone had it done? Any problems? Would you recommend?

I’ve had it done three times. The first I was at school and they made me take it out, i then ended up somehow poking a second hole in it and it fell off. The other side I got pierced at a festival but they put a stud in and told me I needed to change myself to a ring. I couldn’t get it in and it closed up. Had it again and the skin swelled up so much I freaked out and got rid of it.

But it’s fine if you get through healing and don’t mess about with it. My mates’ ones are all good. It does hurt a fair bit. Very close to the head.

I had mine done about 10 years ago. No problems other than it took about 6 weeks to heal properly. Not as painful as I thought it would be. (Needle piercing not gun)

AFOLNerd · 02/06/2019 18:27

It’s one of the few I didn’t get done as a rebellious teenager. (Nearly all gone now) and I really want it done.

I have been thinking I might get it done in a few weeks for my 35th birthday.
Go for it!

Slicedpineapple · 02/06/2019 18:28

I had it done when I was about 19. Pain in the ass.

Kept knocking it on things somehow, getting hair caught in it, DH (DP back then) decided to start stroking my head when I was going to sleep which was lovely except for this bloody piercing.
Hurt quite a bit to get done but it's over in 5 mins so pain from piercings/tattoos doesn't bother me.

Ended up taking it out after about 6/7 months.

Aimily · 02/06/2019 18:34

I've got it, I have to say it's one of the least painful piercings I've had in my ears, only time it caused issues was when I had a ring, studs are the way forward. I've had it about 6 or 7 years now.

JemimaCuddleMuck · 02/06/2019 18:37

Got mine done and love it. It does take aaaaages to heal so you can change studs (I only wanted a tiny crystal), but worth it and don't remember it hurting at all.

Aozora13 · 02/06/2019 18:39

I had mine done coming up for 20 years ago (eep!) and I still really like it. I don’t remember it being especially painful and I found it easier to care for than cartilage ones at the top of my ear which can get tangled in my hair. I’m actually considering getting my daith done...

Fivebyfivesq · 02/06/2019 18:41

I have 13 piercings and it’s the only one I had to abandon because of slow healing/infection. I just seemed to knock it all the time!! Totally my fault. Make sure it’s not the side you sleep on!

Daith and rook were both fairly painless and healed like a charm, particularly the daith.

Sugarformyhoney · 02/06/2019 18:44

Had mine done and ofvthe cartlidge piercings it was the easiest and healed very quickly
The ones at the top of my ear have been the longest to heal

icecreamsundae32 · 02/06/2019 18:52

Confused I went with my friend when she had hers pierced... it was horrible they pierced it, heard a crunch and blood splattered the wall opposite. I felt so sick, she was fine tho and it didn't get infected or anything.

Biancadelrioisback · 02/06/2019 18:54

Love mine. Stops my earphones falling out when I run

SalutingMagpies · 02/06/2019 18:55

I found it the least painful and fastest to heal out of all of my piercings. I had it pierced with a stud and now have a small crystal. Think it’s my favourite piercing, actually.

Writersblock2 · 02/06/2019 18:56

Had my second one done a few days ago. It was fine. One of the easier, least painful of my ear piercings.

SmellsLikeAdultSpirit · 02/06/2019 19:01

I have daith, helix and tragus
Tragus was the quickest to heal and the least problematic of them all

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 02/06/2019 19:46

Had mine pierced as a teenager. Was fine until it fell out and my stupidly long fake nails meant I couldn’t get it back in.

GrandTheftWalrus · 02/06/2019 19:51

Had.mine done about 10 years now. Love it. Got a wee pink sparkly stud on it.

LeoTimmyandVi · 02/06/2019 19:53

Not painful but took forever to heal - closer to a year for me to be fully healed. Means you can’t sleep on that side for a while as well. I do like my tragus piercing though Smile

Thisnamechanger · 02/06/2019 19:55

I keep swearing I'll stop getting earrings now (have 11) but hearing it doesn't hurt much is making me think of making it a round dozen 😁

Auramigraine · 02/06/2019 19:57

Got mine done years ago still love it. Worked myself up about how it would hurt to have it pierced but it was actually not painful at all! (Needle piercing) just felt a bit of pressure as he did it. No problems healing wise or anything, I forget it’s there. Go for it! X

ViciousTrollop · 02/06/2019 20:07

I have mine done and love it.

Unfortunately the shitty piercing shop (one of the top rated here in Leeds Hmm) assured me it was fine to pierce with a ring (it's not), used one that was too small and it wasn't healing properly at all.

I was in London a while ago and went to a fab piercing shop for another piercing (forward helix) and they swapped my tragus ring for a gorgeous small gem/bar. It's now healing properly and feels loads better.

Also have a daith and a helix. Want a conch or an orbital next. It's bloody addictive!

For anyone in London I can heartily recommend the shop I went to - just let me know for details!

ViciousTrollop · 02/06/2019 20:09

Oh and for all my cartilage piercings I didn't find the piercing bit painful at all.

It's the threading of the jewellery after the piercing that gets me. It's an intense painful pressure. But so very worth it and not bad enough to put me off getting more!

MrsTeaspoon · 02/06/2019 20:09

I forget I have them tbh - great healing and pain wasn’t too bad when they were done. I’ve had both mine for nearly twenty years now, gosh!

Elledouble · 02/06/2019 20:11

I had mine done a couple of weeks ago. It’s no more painful than any of my other cartilage piercings. The slight crunching sound as the needle went through was a bit grim though Wink

TheCrowdSayBoSecta · 02/06/2019 22:16

I've had mine probably 20 years. I'm sure they did it with a gun. I told people for years I didn't feel any pain at all when it was pierced... can't remember now but not sure why I'd lie about it. I've long since taken all of my piercings out but it's the only one along with single lobe piercings I have now. Reminds me of another life! Just have a tiny bar through it.

tessiegirl · 02/06/2019 22:20

Thank you so much for your replies everyone Smile

I sleep on my right side and that is the side I wanted pierced...Confused
