To actually consider I could be pregnant 8 weeks after having baby?

Baby born April 2nd. 22nd May got what seemed to be first period, but it didn't last as long as normal (I read it's normal for them to change pp though).

About a week (give or take) beforehand, dtd twice and he pulled out, and once dtd no pulling out. The day after the suspected period had finished (26th May) also dtd no pulling out (sorry for details).

Tuesday night I felt sick when I woke up, like I was going to be sick (I sleep evenings so night is my morning). This morning (now) I feel nausea again.

I am probably just overly paranoid because with my first pregnancy nausea was the first symptom and it started pretty much immediately after conception. Also I noticed a 'difference' in the smell of dh's tobacco (which was just increased sense of smell) and lately I can smell his tobacco when it's in the pouch a couple of feet away.

If it wasn't for the suspected period I would feel a lot more sure I was pregnant. I feel too sick to proof read this I hope it makes sense!

Definitely time to test. Mine are born 1 year apart exactly and I was breastfeeding. Doctor was still adamant I would not get pregnant with the new born on my knee when I went to get an injection after baby number 2

My mom had 3 babies in the space of 12 months , single birth and then twins .Irish triplets.

Brocks1981 · 31/05/2019 17:43

Perfectly good chance I was conceived ten days after my brother was born. Juat do a test.

Thisisnotreallymyname · 31/05/2019 17:48

Yep !
I had 2 under 10.5 months. Was shocked, then delighted !

I actually can't believe people are still this naïve. The first weeks after giving birth are the most important time to use protection as you are super fertile

Logan2014 · 31/05/2019 17:50

I fell pregnant with baby 4 when baby 3 was 4weeks old super fertile time Mrs u cud we'll be preggers again x

Congratulations! Smile

A line is a line! Congratulations!
If it was me I’d pee on a stick again now and then daily to find out.

Of course you can get pregnant the day after a period. Sperm can live for up to 7 days.

Ellie666 · 31/05/2019 18:09

Breast-feeding does NOT stop you getting pregnant and people should not give the impression that it does as that is the impression being given by your reply.

nuxe1984 · 31/05/2019 18:14

Simple answer - yes!

You know how babies are made - you've already had one. If you didn't want another one quite so quickly then you should have used protection!

Do the test and come back to tell us.

SoupDragon · 31/05/2019 18:16

Are you totally uneducated to even ask such a dumb question. Take the test FCS!!!

Are you so uneducated you can't read the whole thread? 🙄

Ellie666 · 31/05/2019 18:16

So why do doctors and nurses advise you not to have sex untill your six week check-up after having a baby to make sure every thing is ok with your body. You are told this for your own good but then you always get the husbands who will not wait that long don't you? You only have yourself to blame then if you do become pregnant, got no sympathy for people when they suddenly find themselves pregnant within weeks of having a baby.

Cannyhandleit · 31/05/2019 18:18

@Ellie666 if you rtft you would know that the op doesn't want any sympathy. Don't be such a judgemental twat!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 31/05/2019 18:18

This has me all excited. Best wishes for a big fat line OP! Flowers

cuppycakey · 31/05/2019 18:19

I also have a friend who fell pregnant within six weeks of giving birth and the pregnancy turned out to be twins Grin Grin So she had three under 1. We used to refer to them as The Triplets when they were little. All grown up now.

I hope it is a positive but I would do another test tomorrow just to make sure - reporting back obviously Smile Good Luck!!

whattheactualfuckery · 31/05/2019 18:19

Ha! Of course, I've got 2 kids born in the same year, 10 months apart.

Maxie42 · 31/05/2019 18:20

It happened to me!
It is possible 😀
I had twins. They are currently all 5 👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻 True story x

Ilove · 31/05/2019 18:21

My youngest two were born 9.5 months apart.

You’ll do fine!!

They’re now 17 and 16 - and get on brilliantly

SoupDragon · 31/05/2019 18:21

So why do doctors and nurses advise you not to have sex untill your six week check-up after having a baby

If they do, it is against NHS advice.
