To actually consider I could be pregnant 8 weeks after having baby?

Baby born April 2nd. 22nd May got what seemed to be first period, but it didn't last as long as normal (I read it's normal for them to change pp though).

About a week (give or take) beforehand, dtd twice and he pulled out, and once dtd no pulling out. The day after the suspected period had finished (26th May) also dtd no pulling out (sorry for details).

Tuesday night I felt sick when I woke up, like I was going to be sick (I sleep evenings so night is my morning). This morning (now) I feel nausea again.

I am probably just overly paranoid because with my first pregnancy nausea was the first symptom and it started pretty much immediately after conception. Also I noticed a 'difference' in the smell of dh's tobacco (which was just increased sense of smell) and lately I can smell his tobacco when it's in the pouch a couple of feet away.

If it wasn't for the suspected period I would feel a lot more sure I was pregnant. I feel too sick to proof read this I hope it makes sense!

Oh OP, congratulations (if it is a line!) - maybe go to the GP for a test?

MollyHuaCha · 31/05/2019 12:59

Test to be sure either way.

PantsyMcPantsface · 31/05/2019 12:59

Congratulations OP - you're going to have them about the same point in the year apart as mine are (eldest is an early April baby) which works out nicely as although they're close in age, they do still fall into different school years so get some space from each other to carve out their own identity.

Mine are incredibly incredibly close (they're infant school age now).

Get investigating a really really good double buggy - buy second hand if you can because with them that close in age the needs you have from it will change as the eldest gets older - I found I needed (DD1 was a late walker) to basically think about two full-time buggy users, then one occasionally needed mobile toddler containment facility and then it just became a dumping chair for all the spare coats and stuff and I thought fuck it and bought a single - bought and sold second hand to suit the different needs and actually came out at a slight profit.

You're about to get a lot of "hur hur bet that wasn't planned... haven't you heard of condoms" comments - I even got them from the sodding health visitor! (Who then told me off that I'd dared to give birth when she was on annual leave so she couldn't get a newborn cuddle!)

Timide · 31/05/2019 13:10

Wow that was quick! Congratulations!!!

TheVanguardSix · 31/05/2019 13:16

Oh your baby was born on mine and DD’s birthday! April 2nd! Grin

A line IS a line! Huge congratulations and goodness, I admire your being able to just swing on back into a good, healthy sex life!

b0bb1n · 31/05/2019 13:25

Thank you all and thank thank you for your really helpful post Pantsy. What a rude HV you had! And those kind of comments must have driven you up the wall.

Can you post a picture of it?

Aww birthday buddies :)

You need to pee in a pot and do the test like that. I can never pee on a stick.

b0bb1n · 31/05/2019 13:29

U2 I took some pics but my phone isn't picking up anything at all. It's all but disappeared even to my eyes now. There was definitely a very faint line within the time frame though, which has never happened to me before when I've had negative tests. But still don't want to get my hopes up. Definitely going to re-test (I want to do it now but should prob wait at least 24hrs)

janetforpresident · 31/05/2019 13:33

Congratulations op. I wouldn't be able to wait and would have to test again today! I had something similar with the line fading and it was a positive.

peasando · 31/05/2019 13:35

Congrats OP! Lovely 💖

Soubriquet · 31/05/2019 13:39

Pee in a pot and dip the stick that way. I’ve never been able to do it mid stream. Had a false negative doing it that way. It was definitely a positive. I rechecked the next day but peed in a pot first. Nice strong positive and ds was born later on

AndOutComeTheBoobs · 31/05/2019 13:45

FRERs often show a line as the dye runs through.
If it's not showing one now, I would hazard a guess that it was negative - for now at least.
I'd try again next week.

Best of luck. Flowers

BlueGlassesFrames · 31/05/2019 13:49

You seem so happy, I hope it's positive for you! Flowers

Orchidflower1 · 31/05/2019 13:51

Many congratulations op! 💐👍🏻. Please post back when you’ve done the back up test tomorrow.

b0bb1n · 31/05/2019 14:08

Thank you all and I definitely will keep you updated. Definitely think I'll use the pot method too x

I'm glad you'll be pleased if you are pregnant Op.

Congrats Smile

SuziGeo · 31/05/2019 16:38

Congratulations! There are only 11 months between my sister and I. We were the best of friends while growing up and the same today. My mum says it was difficult at the start but afterwards was easy because we were always company for each other and because of similar age we liked the same toys/games and could do things together.

fizzybubblepop · 31/05/2019 16:53

Fingers crossed you get the result you are wanting. My DC are close in age and I think it's great!!!

Katherine2626 · 31/05/2019 17:31

My friend has ten months between her daughters - they are in the same school year. Big surprise, but she thought as she was breast feeding it couldn't happen. Get a testing kit pronto!
