Is the finger more red than it was yesterday?

Crispysausagerolls · 30/05/2019 11:10

No, exactly the same

It’s gone kind of black I am not sure if this is good or bad. I also now think it’s redder

OP posts:
IHateUncleJamie · 30/05/2019 14:15

If the redness has increased then I’d say it needs antibiotics.

Crispysausagerolls · 30/05/2019 17:48

Jesus Christ showed new pic to GP who told us to go to a and e. 2 hour wait there to be told they can’t do anything.

OP posts:
floraloctopus · 30/05/2019 18:34

So what do they say it is?

floraloctopus · 30/05/2019 18:35

^ Is it a blood blister?

managedmis · 30/05/2019 18:35

Can't do anything? Huh? Antibiotics?

SmellbowSmellbow123 · 30/05/2019 18:43

Are you putting any antiseptic on it whilst “no one does anything”? My son used to get infections around his thumb nails and I used to have to keep a supply of liquid TCP to regularly apply before getting in to see our GP. He got the infections regularly enough for me to stop going to the GP and just use the TCP instead as it cleared it really quickly.

crispysausagerolls · 30/05/2019 18:55

It seems to have drained in the bath or something as now the blister is flat and open. HURRAH!

A and e didn’t say what it was! And didn’t want to give antibiotics honestly what is the bloody point - it’s not like I didn’t ask the GP who sent me there 🙄

MN advice has been vastly superior to the medical professionals lol

That sounds about right OP. Glad it's drained and is getting better.

birdonawire1 · 30/05/2019 19:23

Looks like an infection. Possible splinter but can be caused by being bitten and sucked.

Cherylshaw · 30/05/2019 20:17

This used to happen to my friends little one when she cut the nail too short. It looks just like that
