I didn’t think it was”hot” at all. I could see it was going to be an abusive, manipulative relationship and just wanted Elton to realise that and know he would find love eventually.

It was a shocking, quite hard hitting film. The scenes of drug abuse really brought home the spiral of destruction he went into.
