To request people don’t use my toilet at house viewings?

Just that really ...

As obviously it has been used today and it’s grossed me out.

OP posts:
chaosisaladder · 28/05/2019 17:24

I wouldn’t love it but I’d never say anything! I recognise it’s a “me” problem

Honeybee85 · 28/05/2019 17:26

Oh and during the viewings when my house was for seal, the real estate agent flushed the toilet to show it was working and showed that the tap was working by washing his hands afterwards.

Bunnybigears · 28/05/2019 17:29

Unless someone has left pee all over the seat or had a shit and not flushed I cant see the problem. Everyone pees and poos and sometimes when you have to go you have to go. I never understand adults being so pretty and childish over things like this.

Cosyjimjamsforautumn · 28/05/2019 17:30

A bloke who came to view our house with his family asked to use the loo. No problem, except he did the seriously stinkiest shit it nearly took the wallpaper off the walls! Not impressed Envy not envy

daisypond · 28/05/2019 17:30

I wouldn’t have an issue with people using my toilet at viewings, no. I wouldn’t care.

PinkieTuscadero · 28/05/2019 17:30

It's been used today as in you saw someone go in, close the door and a while later heard the toilet flush?

or

It's been used to day as in someone's left wee on the floor and a turd in the toilet?

If it's the former YABU

If it's the latter YANBU

Fuzzyend · 28/05/2019 17:31

@Honeybee85 - you ask men visiting your home to sit down when they urinate?

Blimey- really can't imagine having that conversation......

RedDogsBeg · 28/05/2019 17:33

I've never encountered people who are so precious about their toilets as on MN.

Me neither HoldingTheDoor, the post from Honeybee85 is a classic example.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 28/05/2019 17:33

Well, if OP can tell the loo has been used then clearly it wasn't left pristine, for those of you who ask whether she would have preferred someone to shit on the carpets.

The only was she can tell is if is has been left dirty, which is not on.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 28/05/2019 17:34

So, used but left clean YABU.
Lest dirty YANBU.

Which one was it and how could you tell?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 28/05/2019 17:36

Or she could have heard the flush, and made the assumption that meant the toilet had been used, @ChardonnaysPrettySister.

PinkieTuscadero · 28/05/2019 17:37

you ask men visiting your home to sit down when they urinate?

Weird!

I wonder at what point the request is made. Just after the hellos? Before offering them a beverage? Is it printed on the coasters?

So many questions.

S0CKS · 28/05/2019 17:38

Whilst i would prefer they didn't i think if i was viewing a house and i was told you cant go to the loo i wouldn't be offering on that house trying to do business with somebody so precious i imagine would be too much trouble

LarryGreysonsDoor · 28/05/2019 17:39

The only was she can tell is if is has been left dirty, which is not on.

Not so at all.
I always put the lid down on my toilet. I know when others have used it as they don’t put the lid down or even leave the seat up.

Are the people who are shocked by someone using a toilet the same ones who insist on the DH not being naked after he’s had a shit? (Can anyone link to that thread? I can’t find it)

Diamondeye · 28/05/2019 17:41

No I didn’t do the house viewing but the toilet seat was left up.

I also came house to all the blinds closed in every room. Hmm

OP posts:
Witchofzog · 28/05/2019 17:41

Someone used your toilet. As in used it or made a mess? If it's the former you need to get a grip and stop being so precious. If it's the latter then yes it's not nice, but some people may have been looking at houses all day and may need to go so I don't know if it would be reasonable to try to enforce this. If I were a viewer I would probably think this is indicative of you being a difficult vendor

RabbityMcRabbit · 28/05/2019 17:42

Not this again. What if the viewer has bladder issues?

PinkieTuscadero · 28/05/2019 17:43

the toilet seat was left up.

CALL THE FEDS.

LarryGreysonsDoor · 28/05/2019 17:45

So they left the seat up. Not a floater. Not skid marks. Not shit stains on the wall. They just left the seat up. This means that he only had a piss.

A man had a piss in something designed to be pissed in. You presumably were there for him to ask so what do you think he should do?

LarryGreysonsDoor · 28/05/2019 17:45

you weren’t* there I meant to say.

Isatis · 28/05/2019 17:45

It's not going to be your toilet much longer, is it? Lighten up.

Cornettoninja · 28/05/2019 17:46

I can’t imagine not letting someone in my home use the toilet?? It’s really strange to deny somebody the opportunity to perform a needed bodily function. I own bleach and gloves, so although not the nicest job,it’s rectifiable if needed.

The closed blinds is weird though. Maybe they’re nudists and wanted to get a proper feel for the place —naked arses have been on your sofa—

Ultimately you’re selling a product, you might want to chill out about other people i your house for the duration.

Sparkles07 · 28/05/2019 17:46

YABU.

I did house viewings when I was heavily pregnant and had a toddler in tow. I had no childcare, occasionally one of us needed the loo! Suck it up buttercup!

Lweji · 28/05/2019 17:47

the toilet seat was left up

Oh
My
God
!

And the blinds closed too?

RestingBitchFaced · 28/05/2019 17:48

The toilet seat was up?
I thought you were going to say it's covered in shit! YABU
