I can absolutely top all your fancy home cooked meals- I'm getting a big greasy chippy 😋

JamOnTheCarpet · 28/05/2019 10:56

Pizza. Made from scratch... It will be messy, flour coated kitchen by the end, but it is fun. Will use up some leftover stuff from the fridge as toppings.

Charles11 · 28/05/2019 10:56

I’m supervising my kids to make pizza from scratch so that will be fun..

crosser62 · 28/05/2019 10:57

I’ve got a whole chicken in the slow cooker.
Sunday roast with one half tonight then a chicken curry with the other half for tomorrow night’s tea.

Bloody live my slow cooker and the money it saves us.

Charles11 · 28/05/2019 10:58

Great minds Jam Smile

Saavhi · 28/05/2019 10:59

Do only people having relatively "fancy" meals post? I enjoy cooking but couldn't manage complex recipes every night. I will probably be doing the most basic stir fry which literally takes 5 minutes. If we didn't have the ingredients in it would probably be frozen kievs.

BillywigSting · 28/05/2019 11:00

Chicken korma, rice and poppadoms at the request of ds.

Totally fine by me, we're both knackered and it's dead easy. He hasn't got out of his pjs today and I've no intention of making him. The rest of half term is busy so a down day is needed!

Chelsea26 · 28/05/2019 11:00

Chicken tikka salad with daal and cumin roasted sweet potatoes, mango chutney and mint yogurt... for a salad it’s pretty damn sexy!!

kaytee87 · 28/05/2019 11:01

@Saavhi a few people on the thread having pizza, someone having a dominoes, someone having a chippy. I'd say there's a good mix of meals here.

ChesterDrawsDoesntExist · 28/05/2019 11:02

I made a corned beef hash last night because all we had left in was a couple of past their best carrots, potatoes and onions.

Wasn't much else I could make with the half a cucumber, a single tomato, some tins of chopped tomatoes, taco beans and baked beans and a half packet of Atora suet Blush
There is a lifetime supply of various dry pastas though.

I really need to go do a big grocery shop but sadly an unexpected bill, two damaged car tyres and a broken down freezer this month meant we'll have to wait til payday.

YahBasic · 28/05/2019 11:04

Probably prawn satay stir fry tonight.

Rest of the week looking like enchiladas for 2 days, and then leftover sweet potato, goats cheese & tomato chilli chutney tart with salad.

autopilotmomma · 28/05/2019 11:06

@Saavhi I noticed this too! I'm all for making a fancy wee meal every now and then but generally it's the quickest meal possible to get everyone fed! I really hope all you ladies making your fancy meals are just fibbing and actually having a pot noodle or beans on toast!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 28/05/2019 11:06

Chicken & chorizo in creamy tomato sauce, with pasta & garlic bread for DH & kids and a salad for me (am trying to low-carb, a bit, badly!)

Nuttyaboutnutella · 28/05/2019 11:07

Whatever they serve in the hospital as I'm having squishy newborn cuddles after having dc2 last night Grin

DP and our toddler will probably have pizza.

ShesABelter · 28/05/2019 11:07

Chicken thighs marinated in sweet chilli sauce. Potato salad. Coleslaw and corn on the cob.

EmrysAtticus · 28/05/2019 11:10

Refried bean quesadillas with nachos. Not the healthiest but is a treat meal :)

autopilotmomma · 28/05/2019 11:12

@Nuttyaboutnutella Congratulations!!!!

ChesterDrawsDoesntExist · 28/05/2019 11:14

@Saavhi and here's me thinking "ooh stir fry. Ain't that posh?" Haha.

Seriously though, half the meals here would never be made in my house. I've never bought goat's cheese, risotto rice, asparagus, or pumpkin sourdough. Only once bothered trying an avocado and thought it was.... well.. meh.

I'm not a nuggets, chips and beans kind of girl (though they're a go to when we have little guests visiting) but some of these wouldn't even cross my mind to make. I love to cook and I think I really need to expand my menu and convince DH to try more new things.

tomatosalt · 28/05/2019 11:15

Pumpkin soup and crusty bread with soft blue cheese

BlueStockingUK · 28/05/2019 11:18

Today we're having teriyaki salmon & roasted garlic/herb veg & potatoes
Fave tea of the week.

LadyRannaldini · 28/05/2019 11:18

I found some prawns in the freezer I'd forgotten about so with some cod and smoked haddock it'll be fish pie, maybe with a side of asparagus of which we seem to have a lot. OH will think he's died and gone to heaven.

MsSquiz · 28/05/2019 11:19

Slow cooked gammon joint with garlic and onion potatoes, asparagus and roasted broccoli or crispy kale (not sure what I have in the fridge)

cookiemonster3 · 28/05/2019 11:21

Quick and easy because of clubs so it's individual pies, chips and beans.

MummyBear2352 · 28/05/2019 11:22

Vegetable risotto. I love making it.

TantricTwist · 28/05/2019 11:22

Ratatouille (cooked yesterday), cous cous and pork chop.
