A Wahaca soft tortilla kit with chicken, spicy rice and guacamole.

SallyOMalley · 28/05/2019 13:18

Salmon baked in foil with a lime, chilli and coriander marinade. Will probably have it with rice and perhaps some green beans. V quick and tastes gorgeous.

ConfusedandContrary · 28/05/2019 13:20

A slightly random dinner of steamed pork buns, crispy seaweed and sweet potato fries.

graziemille567 · 28/05/2019 13:26

some sort of couscous and broccoli salad with grilled halloumi and a honey and harissa dressing. Trying to eat a bit less meat, so experimenting with some veggie dishes a couple of times a week. I don't always cook from scratch - freezer full of pizzas, kievs, leftover stews/curries/bologneses - but I do enjoy it so try to cook a 'from scratch' meal 3 or 4 times a week.

Youllneverguesswhat · 28/05/2019 13:29

Nothing. DP left for his 12 hr shift at work this morning taking the pram and car seat with him so I'm stuck in the house on shopping day

Clubbercised · 28/05/2019 13:31

Noooooo @Youllneverguesswhat! That's so frustrating.

I think Tesco sometimes do same day grocery delivery. You could maybe check? Or takeaway?

My DH is always doing that with the car seat, but fortunately hasn't taken the pushchair yet.

Do you have a sling?

I don’t normally join in these threads as I’m on slimming world and we usually have boring stuff but we are having home made keema curry, lemon rice, chilli potatoes and veg for tea today. I’m so looking forward to dinner today!

Clubbercised · 28/05/2019 13:32

Btw, I'm nicking @weegiemum's fajita bowl idea 👍. Thanks for that!

And I too am a sahm to very young DCs and am lucky enough to have time to cook from scratch most of the time.

I did almost always cook from scratch when I worked full time too, but I didn't have any DC at the time, so it was a leisurely evening of cooking and enjoying my food.

Bangers and mash with cabbage

MaMisled · 28/05/2019 13:39

I've made Chinese chicken curry using Mayflower sauce and egg fried rice. Oh, and a cottage pie for DD.

IHaveBrilloHair · 28/05/2019 13:41

Dd is making up steak, chips, asparagus, onion rings and pepper sauce.
I'm going to make an aubergine curry ready for tomorrow

Preggers86 · 28/05/2019 13:42

Cajun pork loins with sweet potato chips followed by hot chocolate fudge cake and ice cream

Cooroo · 28/05/2019 13:42

Slow cooker lamb stew (neck). And unusually a pudding of Rhubard and Ginger Syllabub because I've picked all the rhubarb and that's the only recipe there's enough for! I'm retired so it's quite laid back.

SandAndSea · 28/05/2019 13:43

Home-made veggie stew with green and brown lentils and quorn chunks.

tardyheart · 28/05/2019 13:47

We need quick & healthy-ish tonight......so a bit boring but I nipped in M&S this morning and they had Tuna Skewers reduced, so going to serve them with stir fried veg & Noodles.

SandrasAnnoyingFriend · 28/05/2019 13:50

Hoisin chicken ramen using leftover roast chicken and chicken stock I made last night. Will put a boiled egg in too

Samanabanana · 28/05/2019 13:55

Chicken, chorizo and chickpea casserole with roasted sweet potato. Work full time but currently on half term!

Grumpbum123 · 28/05/2019 14:03

Toad in the hole with veg and gravy

MrsSarahSiddons · 28/05/2019 14:09

Paneer and spinach curry.

Daisydo48 · 28/05/2019 14:09

Chicken teriyaki stir fry

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 28/05/2019 14:14

Love how everyone is making a deliberate point of saying "HOME MADE xyz". I mean, imagine if some random on the internet thought you BOUGHT your meatballs or soup or whatever. The shame!

I see nobody's having fishfingers and oven chips either. And even the broccoli is the fancy purple sprouting kind not yer average green from the freezer.

(I'm having the remaining cold sausages from yesterday. Probably with yellow mustard dribbled on top for the fancy touch)

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 28/05/2019 14:31

@BuzzShitbagBobbly I did say in my post that we often have oven chips and things like ready-made pies and even jars of sauces (and did I mention the frozen mash!)

I'm always salivating reading these threads, never mind my kids being plain/fussy eaters, my DH is a nightmare. If everyone in the house had my discerning palette, I'd cook those dishes all the time!

Everything I cook is home made... I'm at home and I made it Grin

Last week I actually made bread and mozzarella cheeseShock

RavenLG · 28/05/2019 14:39

Corned Beef Hash, Cheesy Beans and a Fried Egg. Maybe a bit of bread if I'm feeling wild. Been craving corned beef hash for a while and luckily it's a bit chilly / pissing down with rain so seems like a good miserable meal. We've got a lot of pre-made freezer meals this week so will be a light cooking week for me.
