To ask how many bras you have?

I noticed today that my neighbour’s washing on her line today included a number of bras. And presumably she had one on, too, which adds to her collection.

I only own two! One decent one and an older one to wear while the other is washed. OK I can understand having extra for, say, wearing a halter top or for sports, but is it me who is unusual, with only two bog standard ones? Do you wear a fresh one every day?

Around 20 I think.. Not counted recently but I jut washed a load this morning and there is 10 in that. I suspect I have similar upstairs.

UbbesPonytail · 28/05/2019 08:31

1 sports bra, 1 white, 1 black, 1 strapless and a kind of crop top thing. I don’t like wearing them though, ghastly things.

Fantail2018 · 28/05/2019 08:32

I think about 12 in total.
5 matching sets, several coloured/patterned ones which don't match and several black or black and white ones which I wear with plain black cotton pants (so in my head they match).
However a number of them have stretched so need to be culled as i don't really wear anymore.

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 28/05/2019 08:32

I have 4 normal bras, 2 sports bras and a strapless bra. I would like to get some more but size 34G are expensive

LittleCandle · 28/05/2019 08:34

I have one in black, white and nude, plus a strapless (I think...) and 3 pull-on comfy bras for slouching around. I have a body thing, too. I can't remember the last time I wore a black bra - possibly for a funeral under a black top. I tend to live in the white and nude ones for work. Different colours, though lovely, are a waste of money as I can't wear them at work because of what I wear.

Racheyg · 28/05/2019 08:34

I've recently threw a load out as they don't fit.

I have 2 strapless - nude and white
2 x t-shirt bras black and white.

I need more.

Racheyg · 28/05/2019 08:35

Oh and 5 sports bras

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 28/05/2019 08:39

This thread has shocked me. I'm about to turn 40 and I must own one bra for every year of my life.

I'm very big busted so they can be expensive, so I often buy last season brand new off eBay.

Owning 2 bras?? I just cannot fathom that.

heroineinahalfshell · 28/05/2019 08:56

2 everyday, 3 fancy with matching sets, 1 sports bra. I did have 3 everyday but the underwire went on one of them and I've not replaced yet. I need another couple of sports bra's too. I find it hard to find a good fit so I always put off bra shopping. I do however have about 24 pairs of plain cotton black M&S knickers!

RedSheep73 · 28/05/2019 09:02

5 that fit, and a load at the back of the drawer that I hope may fit again if I lose weight...

SinkGirl · 28/05/2019 09:04

Right now, 3 that I’ve owned for less than a week because I discovered I was wearing completely the wrong size!

My 40Bs are in the bin and now I’m in 36F. I can’t tell you how much more comfy they are! Unfortunately two of the ones I bought aren’t great, so I’ll be buying some more, but if you’re spending a lot on good bras I don’t think you need a lot. Maybe 2-3, and then a couple of fancy ones for special occasions Grin

goingonabearhunt1 · 28/05/2019 09:08

Wow some ppl have a lot. I think I only have about 6 and some of those need recycling. I keep changing size and they're so expensive so I never buy many.

Size 32 ff,
2 sports bras,
4 multi way bras, 2 black and 2 nude,
4 standard bras with matching knickers, 2 black and 2 nude,
2 fancy bras with matching knickers.

Chippychipsforme · 28/05/2019 09:18

About 20. Wear 3 of them on rotation (all black t-shirt bras).

icannotremember · 28/05/2019 09:19

8 including a sports bra.

Branleuse · 28/05/2019 09:54

Ive got absolutely loads, but im the sort of person whos size fluctuates a lot, and so ive stopped throwing them out when i change size, as i invariably go back to that size at some point. I also have different ones for different reasons and some just because theyre pretty. Some that are uber comfy, without much support. Some that are proper scaffolding.

CookPassBabtridge · 28/05/2019 10:32

I don't have many at my bigger size as they are expensive, so I just washed it a lot. I've recently lost 7 stone and a lot of that off my boobs and I was still wearing the same huge bra! Grin I was wondering why they still looked big, it was because they were unsupported. I've recently been able to raid my smaller bra collection of which there is about 10.. they were cheaper!

NCforthis2019 · 28/05/2019 10:51

i have about 50. I like VS too much. Grin

SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 28/05/2019 11:01

I have about 30 that fit, plus 3 x sports, 3 x strapless. Then probably another 40ish in a slightly smaller size.

My weight goes up and down, and ultimately so do my bra size! But as I’m a 32H now, and my ‘smaller’ bras are a GG, I refuse to get rid, as they aren’t cheap to keep buying, when I need the smaller size. Dp just gives me those ‘looks’ when I’m rifling through my bra ‘baskets’ in my wardrobe. But what does he know🤷🏻‍♀️

insecure123 · 28/05/2019 11:14

A whole drawer full...yet I alternate between the same 3......

Mousetolioness · 28/05/2019 11:25

I've put on weight as have been very depressed. Bought 5 bras about three weeks ago as none of mine were fit for purpose through wear and age stretch. I might as well have let 'em hang free as wear one for all the good they were doing in the boob department.

Now have one black, one white, 2 flesh coloured and one lilac. Wear twice (alternate between wearings) then wash in machine at 40° in a bag with other clothes. No more handwashing and salad-spinner hand-spinning unless necessary. Have kept two oldies for gardening and emergency back-up.

May I recommend Barbara in Lingerie at M&S The Meadows, Camberley/Sandhurst for anyone in that area. She was lovely; very kind and understanding. I hadn't gone there for anything for myself; it was a spur of the moment decision so I wasn't what I'd call 'bra fitting ready'...

HomeEdRocks18 · 28/05/2019 15:39
  1. Two are slouchy non wired comfy bras, one is a black push up cleavage type bra, I have a nude bra and a red balconette bra
Faster · 28/05/2019 15:47

Three, one black, one nude, one floral pink. All £4 from Asda.

Figmentofmyimagination · 28/05/2019 22:01

I have about 7 identical triumph Doreens in either black or white. I love them and pick one up every time I spy one in a sale. I’m quite a small person with a big cup, 34E, and nothing beats a Doreen for giving you a nice shape with clothes on. They are quite heavy duty and definitely not sexy though, except in a ‘big pants’ sort of a way.
