Its Fathers day coming up, I've already done 10 of them and I've ran out of ideas, We have enough mugs, key rings and socks to last a life time. DH always loses out because I usually get him what the kids want to get him, which is Mugs, key rings and Socks,(and batman/superman pants!) and sometimes, if hes lucky, chocolate ( If I don't eat it first Blush ) Tips and advise please.
Just for reference he enjoys cycling and has an office job. I was going to do him a cycling hamper but not sure what to put in it as he has everything he would need and use???

What would you get him for birthday/Christmas?
Get the kids to tidy the house... that would probably be a winner for my DP Grin

GoosetheCat · 25/05/2019 23:10

How about something personalized? They do great things on photobox or other such websites. Maybe a desk calendar for work filled with family pictures or something? Always goes down well here.

bridgetreilly · 25/05/2019 23:10

In our family, a card is required for Mother's Day and optional but not required for Father's Day. That's plenty, along with maybe breakfast in bed or a nice meal or something. I don't know anyone who needs more tat.

Samind · 25/05/2019 23:12

What about a quick scrapbook?

Nothing overly difficult. Just fire in photos from an album and your LO writes a message about each photo?

I think it is better for him to get presents as they'd like to give because these presents will stop when they're able to get their own. I'm 29 and still get my mother a mug for it 😂😂 who doesn't want to know they're the best mum ever for 20 odd years 😂😂😂

Failing that, maybe a cycling subscription box... That may be over/under budget. Never like to suggest these things as money usually tends to offend people.

TeaAndChocolateBiscuits · 25/05/2019 23:16

@ThetrollFairy Christmas and birthdays are normally more of a bigger budget, so maybe a watch, aftershave, Last year I got him a camera I got the accessories from the kids (I don't think i've seen him use though Hmm - Cleaning the house would be good, although i think that might be more a treat for me Smile
@Goosecat I was thinking personalised gift, but its all mugs and coasters?
@bridgetreilly He is a fantastic dad, I feel he deserves to be treated, Gifts dont have to be tat.

@TeaAndChocolateBiscuits photobox do photobooks, canvases, calenders (I think). If not try googling personalized father's Day presents. That's what I normally do and I've had some beautiful and unusual gifts come up.

TeaAndChocolateBiscuits · 25/05/2019 23:19

@Samind That is true I suppose, He is very good at choosing gifts for me though, and I would just like to repay the gesture. I never even knew you could get a cycling box, will give it a look. Thanks

Doesn't he have an Amazon wish list?

Bigbus · 25/05/2019 23:22

How old are the kids? One year we got a personalised Peppa Pig book and is was really funny - you got to pick what the Daddy in it looked like and it ended up looking just like DH! That was the year we also made him a cake that looked like his own face and then cut it up and ate it...

TeaAndChocolateBiscuits · 25/05/2019 23:26

@Harry Nope, he always says..."You don't have to get me anything, I have all I need" Which is sweet and lovely, but, god, so frustrating when you need ideas.
@BigBus, They youngest is 8, and oldest 10, Peppa Pig has been long gone, both boys and love gaming...obvs Confused

Oh well. His loss. I must update mine, actually. My kids are still hopeless at buying presents and my poor ex-wife will end up having to buy something for them to give to me yet again (as I had to for mother's day).

TeaAndChocolateBiscuits · 25/05/2019 23:36

@Harry what do you normally ask for?

TheTrollFairy · 25/05/2019 23:42

What about marshmallows with the kids faces on? You can get them from boomf

TeaAndChocolateBiscuits · 25/05/2019 23:44

Troll... That's a great one, might do that. Thanks

Give him something special to eat or drink. Or to do. Depends on a budget.
No clatterGrin

Purpleheadgirl · 26/05/2019 00:18

Can get nice personalised mouse mats so could be used at home or a work, or personalise a calendar....can pay for the photo versions or do a design for each page from template on computer and get the kids to draw or write on each page to decorate x

Skrowten · 26/05/2019 00:26

My dad likes wine, so voucher for local wine shop is a winner

Skrowten · 26/05/2019 00:27

So sorry to be mean but I think personalised photo stuff is not what anyone wants

wineandroses1 · 26/05/2019 00:33

DH’s favourite Father’s Day present was a mouse mat with photos of DD’s big moments (singing solo at a concert, first sailing lesson, kissing her new dear doggie). This was years ago, but it is used daily in his office. He loves this type of present.

wineandroses1 · 26/05/2019 00:34

Skrowten DH loves loves loves the personal photo stuff where he can revisit lovely times with his DD. He’s not bothered about expensive gifts, he loves the photos of his girl, he loves to be reminded of fab times.

MuddyMoose · 26/05/2019 00:38

A nice personalised pen for work?

paintedorpapered · 26/05/2019 20:35

Mine made a pack of vouchers once, "voucher for one hill walk without whinging" sort of thing. I gave them the idea, but they thought up the the contents. It was actually a very personal gift, dad was pretty touched!

BentBaastard · 26/05/2019 20:36

A box of his favourite treats?
A beer?

Listlover · 26/05/2019 20:37

If he says don’t get him anything then don’t get him anything
