To think Stephen Graham is quite possibly the world's finest actor.

Just finished the second episode of the Virtues and I'm just blown away. He was incredible in This is England and all the series, and he was the best thing about the last series of Line of Duty. I just wanted to start a thread to tell the world how utterly wonderful I think he is!!!

He's great, I loved him in Taboo as well

MissEliza · 23/05/2019 13:13

@MinisterforCheekyFuckery he did steal the show in Save Me even though his character was so dislikeable.

VeganCow · 23/05/2019 14:46

check out him reading Suicide in the Trenches by Sassoon on YouTube agree, it's excellent

Scoose · 23/05/2019 17:19

I know I'm being pedantic but Kirkby is not technically in Liverpool, historically it was classed as in Lancashire and now its classed as Knowsley.

Stephen graham is a fine actor and is meant to be a nice bloke according to my dh who has met him and friends of mine from Kirkby.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 23/05/2019 18:08

Well, I suppose I did know that, mainly because half of my family are from St Helens, Widnes and other Lancastrian surrounds. But the original inhabitants would have been from the city centre.

Then again I am old enough to remember when Knowsley was 'only' a safari park Smile

Slazengerbag · 23/05/2019 18:37

One of the best actors on tv at the moment. Every time he comes on the screen Dh and I say how good he is.

I also like that he doesn’t sell his personal life (hiddleston) to become more popular.

ConfessionalProfessional · 23/05/2019 18:39

YABU - the world’s finest actor is Tom Hollander.

Tom Hollander is amazing in everything.

Rarfy · 23/05/2019 18:43

Must admit if I see he is in something I try to catch it. Great in save me too.

I am loving virtues. One thing in a long time I have watched and literally have no idea what to expect.

Thought the kids were brilliant in last nights episode too.

Coquillage · 23/05/2019 19:43

There's a Tom Holland and a Tom Hollander and I forget which is which. Is Tom Holland the youngster?

Before long there'll be a Tom Hollandest.

JellyNo15 · 23/05/2019 19:44

I have to agree that he is a bloody fine actor.

BelfortGabbz · 23/05/2019 19:55

It will be interesting to see in 20/30 years if his career had the longevity of say Hopkins and Hurt.

ForalltheSaints · 23/05/2019 19:57

He even steals the show in the video he did for Kasabian.

EllebellyBeeblebrox · 23/05/2019 19:58

Tom Holland is the young whippersnapper of about 12 who was in Spider-Man Homecoming. Tom Hollander is in Bohemian Rhapsody and In the Loop.

I heard an interview and he said that the virtues was recorded first and then he was out of work for 9 months and getting really worried but then the was approached by Line of Duty. It's just a coincidence that he is ever at the moment.

RaininSummer · 23/05/2019 20:29

Just watched episode 2 and find I am really struggling to understand Stephan Graham's mumbling. Wondering whether to bother with episode 3 as it's all rather dull. I have Hever noticed him as an actor before so am surprised he is so well known.

Gingerninja01 · 23/05/2019 20:31

Yes! I think he’s a brilliant actor too.
Although his roles have often been gritty, his characters also seems kind/vulnerable too.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 23/05/2019 20:36

I think he is fabulous

I love this is England and i love him in it

So sad...

Love tom hollander as well

LizzyMac40 · 23/05/2019 20:55

He was brilliant as Al Capone in Boardwalk Empire. I genuinely thought he was American till I saw him on a talk show. I think it was the One Show. The Virtues is mindblowing. Doesn't feel at all scripted.

Langrish · 23/05/2019 21:27

Cowuillage

Tom Hollander is Rev. Love him.

happymummy12345 · 23/05/2019 21:30

I've only seen him in little boy blue but I thought he was very good.

ElizaPancakes · 23/05/2019 23:22

Just looked up Shaun Evans - I remember him from Teachers!

CrispbuttyNo1 · 23/05/2019 23:32

He is a great actor in everything he does, but in Little Boy Blue he was utterly believable in the character he played and it was one of the best acted dramas I've seen. Such a sad story and he was fantastic in it.

Davros · 24/05/2019 00:00

He does a good cockney Dick James in Rocketman

hellooosweetheart · 24/05/2019 09:20

I got rid of the tv three years ago. I've never heard of him. Sorry op
