To approach a man I see running?

I go for a run every Saturday morning and I quite regularly see a man who is also running. A few weeks ago he was wearing shorts and I admit I probably did look him up and down when we passed each other and I think he saw this. I then gave him a little smile, which most people do when they pass each other. When we passed each other a second time I think he wiped his sweat off and adjusted himself just before we got to each other.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and when I saw him next I looked down as I was a bit embarrassed to be honest but just as we passed, I looked up at him and he was smiling at me.

Anyway, he is good looking and for some reason I am really drawn to him. Obviously I know nothing about him or his relationship status but AIBU to try and flirt, or say something to him, try and attract his attention etc? What should I do?

Write your telephone number on a five pound note. Run after him when he passes and say "I think you dropped this"

If he says no, unravel it to show your number and say "Are you sure...." with a devilish smile.

If he says no again, stop running and move to another country.

This may have been suggested previously but do you get an opportunity to run more than just on the Saturday? There's a good chance he does. Increase your opportunities 👍

Chippychipsforme · 26/05/2019 09:12

Can you buy some signage for the route? I'm not talking billboards but small signs like you get advertising a fair or a jumble sale with just a few words on.

Hi running man
Fancy a drink?
I like your shorts
They would look good
On my bedroom floor

WhiteDust · 26/05/2019 09:22

This thread is brilliant! 😂
HOWEVER...
Can't help wondering what we'd all be saying if the bloke wrote a thread asking the same thing...
Would 'Hi running woman, Fancy a drink?,I like your shorts,They would look good,on my bedroom floor' be an acceptable reply?

WhiteDust · 26/05/2019 09:25

Second time was along a long straight section so I saw him coming. I can confirm he wasn't wearing a wedding ring. Again I just looked at him and smiled. He literally just stared at me!! Is he a weirdo?!

You've freaked him out! He thinks you're the weirdo! BlushShockBlush

This is what lace handkerchiefs are for, drop yours in his path.

*As far as I remember nocapes and her Geg went on to have a baby together

What?! That's awesome*

I think she got outed as a troll?

Branleuse · 26/05/2019 09:35

Dont most runners smile at other regular runners? I did when I was running a lot. Didnt mean I fancied them.
Worth a try though I guess if you think theres more to it than that

Bwekfusth · 26/05/2019 10:03

I need more updates and I need them now @messychocolate when are you next going for a run?

Forgothowtospell · 26/05/2019 12:33

Can't stop thinking that maybe he's down at the pub and his mates are telling HIM to do the bend and snap 😂😂😂 or his DW is on MN getting the tape ready to mark his ear for next time.

justyouraveragegirl · 26/05/2019 13:15

Oh I do hope this turns into a love story! Reminds me of this woman who had been taking the same train as a man she liked the look of and the rest is history but anyway it's in this video!
Keep us updated on the jogging man 🤣

Planesmistakenforstars · 26/05/2019 13:38

Can you run during the week too? This'll take ever so long if not.

Probably. Cycling code is that you nod, smile or say hello to other cyclists. Not doing so can seem a bit churlish. Sometimes I do fancy them but most of the time it's just acknowledgement of something shared.

HazardGhost · 26/05/2019 14:56

I have just skim read the thread and this phrase will be forever burned into my mind

Do you want to tickle my stomach from the inside?

Grin there is something terribly wrong with you lot.

OP you sound a hotty and very nice, next wk chuck him a wink on the second time you see him then run away and get home because your shy! Then the next time go back to your usual wave and smile and see if he winks... If he winks he likes you will be my guess.

iklboo · 26/05/2019 15:00

Again I just looked at him and smiled. He literally just stared at me!! Is he a weirdo?!

He's probably thought 'Ohhhhh! It's that woman my wife was showing me that thread about on Mumsnet' Grin

MarniLou · 26/05/2019 15:10

Hilarious thread, but if you only see him every Saturday, we've a VERY long way to go!

cuppycakey · 26/05/2019 15:55

I wonder if he might squeeze in a Bank Holiday Monday run?? Grin

Justaboy · 26/05/2019 21:10

Do stop faffing around OP faint heart n'err won fair bloke!

Give us the time and grid reference and I'll introduce you two just like they did in times gone by:-)

Excitedforxmas · 27/05/2019 15:50

Can you not fake an asthma attack and see if he stops?

Turn around and run alongside him!

Kneehighinshit · 30/05/2019 20:01

OP in a culture where we can now watch episodes back to back for entire seasons I don't think I have it in me to wait a whole week for another update Grin Please, please do something, (anything!) this weekend to move things along a bit. We're all rooting for you!!

coffeehabit · 31/05/2019 07:39

Good luck for tomorrow OP, you have loads of people rooting for you!

Can't wait for your update
*drums fingers on table Smile

MairzyDoats · 31/05/2019 08:01

Parvuli · 31/05/2019 08:04
