To approach a man I see running?

I go for a run every Saturday morning and I quite regularly see a man who is also running. A few weeks ago he was wearing shorts and I admit I probably did look him up and down when we passed each other and I think he saw this. I then gave him a little smile, which most people do when they pass each other. When we passed each other a second time I think he wiped his sweat off and adjusted himself just before we got to each other.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and when I saw him next I looked down as I was a bit embarrassed to be honest but just as we passed, I looked up at him and he was smiling at me.

Anyway, he is good looking and for some reason I am really drawn to him. Obviously I know nothing about him or his relationship status but AIBU to try and flirt, or say something to him, try and attract his attention etc? What should I do?

I knew someone once who used to go running but they're married.
I doubt it's them though lol!

Ticklingcheese · 24/05/2019 10:20

Out of all these fantastic suggestions, it is just the twerking you find questionable 😂.
Good luck tomorrow, op.

Yesicancancan · 24/05/2019 10:25

As you run past each other pass him a note

Ticklingcheese · 24/05/2019 10:27

Re the wedding ring worries dd has come up with a great solution

You know the way cows and other livestock are tagged with a big yellow tag in the ear? Would be able to spot it miles away, even when running.

@Villanellesproudmum is that a suggestion for what the OP should do to handsome-runner-man?

Ticklingcheese · 24/05/2019 10:57

bodear suppose you mean me?
Several pps have been worried it could be their dh, and not all are wearing rings. This way you'd know for sure 😀.

Villanellesproudmum · 24/05/2019 11:05

Grin yes, sleuth stylee behind trees, people and ice cream vans. She could see what type of car he gets into, if he does, people carrier, would probably leave it, will stop there incase I offend anyone.

MrsWhatToDo · 24/05/2019 11:12

I just read the whole thread and confirm that i am NOT shamelessly placemarking in anticipation for tomorrow. Grin
Good luck Messy Wink
This thread reminds me of the 'green-eyed gardener' if anyone remembers?

MrsWhatToDo · 24/05/2019 11:18

@Tingface
I LOVE your summary. Points for how accurately Messy can make that all happen!

'Would you like to... tickle my stomach from the inside'
That made me laughsnort! Grin

MurkySkies · 24/05/2019 14:51

Same here @MrsWhatToDo ! I loved the GEG thread!

Sprintfinish · 24/05/2019 15:22

Aah @bluntness100 has the most doable suggestion yet! Totally what I'd do 😁

If he's interested he'll stop. Stopping mid run is a big deal to us runners and not something to be done for just anyone! Imagine the horror if he forgot to stop his garmin!

Good luck op!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 24/05/2019 15:38

God, does anyone - anyone else remember the thread with the two builders, one younger and hotter but maybe not interested, one older and less hot and clearly interested? I wonder how that turned out...

So, first thing first... I have bought some waterproof mascara. It really better stay put, and I don't have time to test it out before tomorrow!

good luck, OP!

Oh I love stuff like this! When I went to uni I saw the most beautiful Jude Law lookalike ever, he worked there. Saw him for weeks and weeks, lots of smiles, then one night he came into the bar I worked in and flirted massively. He was lovely. Started seeing each other then found out 6 months later he had a girlfriend. Absolute bellend. Broke my heart. Glad it did though as met my now DH not long after.

He's now bald and doesn't look like Jude Law Grin

GoldenBee · 24/05/2019 16:55

When he gets closer, reduce speed to a slow motion sexy advert-suitable run, flick you hair. Gives you longer to pass him and you'll have more time to assess his openness to your next move. Might be hard if your next move is to trip him up in slow motion though as he'll see your leg come out slowly...

GoldenBee · 24/05/2019 16:56

Although it would be safer. Enables him to decide if he wants that shared ride to hospital 😁

HJWT · 24/05/2019 16:59

Oh gosh. All these comments... he's attracted to you because he wiped his sweat & smiled 😂 going to tell DH to stop smiling at the postwoman and saying 'thanks lovey' I think she fancy's him & don't want her getting the wrong idea!!

You can only ask Op! Try oh hello again, how far do you usually run? But then again you would probably have to run after him 🤣

Strugglingonagain · 24/05/2019 17:07

Blatant placemarking for tomorrows run!

MummyMayo1988 · 24/05/2019 17:09

I'd say hes definitely into you! Keep up the eye contact and maybe start walking when you know your about tinsee him. He might just stop and talk to you. Saves you the trouble of trying to start up a conversation.
Go for it!

managedmis · 24/05/2019 17:23

Belenus

I wouldn't try twerking in front of someone who's mid 40s. They'll think you're having a seizure.

Yeah, bit of a long shot maybe?
