She seems to have no working bank card,
the app on her phone has only just installed and therefore doesnt work
of course by the time i can get there , this weekend, she may well be ok

How far is it?

BigSandyBalls2015 · 21/05/2019 08:35

How far is it? Can’t she go to a bank?

Makemeaname · 21/05/2019 08:35

Can she not go into a branch and withdraw some?

BigSandyBalls2015 · 21/05/2019 08:35

I thought the bank app would work straight away if you knew all the security details?

Daffodil2018 · 21/05/2019 08:35

How long is the journey? Unless it’s nearby, I probably wouldn’t. Part of being a student and moving out of home is about learning to be independent. As long as she’s got food to eat she’ll cope until she gets her bank card sorted.

Sparklingbrook · 21/05/2019 08:36

She can go into the bank and get cash.

pickingdaisies · 21/05/2019 08:36

Can't you just transfer some money into her account?

BlueSkiesLies · 21/05/2019 08:36

Nah. She can go into a bank branch of her bank, with photo ID and withdraw.

SolitudeAtAltitude · 21/05/2019 08:36

She can go to bank with ID

EleanorReally · 21/05/2019 08:37

thats what i thought, it is part of being a student. she rung me yesterday as the banks had closed and she wanted coffee.
i imagine dh wont go.
and she can go to the bank in the day time.
thanks all

This is why banks still have branches open.

pickingdaisies · 21/05/2019 08:37

Ignore me, brain not engaged yet.

EleanorReally · 21/05/2019 08:37

its about 2 hours

Does she have a fiend at uni? If so I would transfer money to the friend, then friend can take it out of their bank account and give it you your DD.

I have done this several times when DD has lost her bank card.

EleanorReally · 21/05/2019 08:39

have you lizzie?
not just my dd who behaves like this.
what a learning curve.

NameChangeMcgee · 21/05/2019 08:39

Wait - you are going to go up so she can get coffee? She needs to learn how to sort this for herself.

ShatnersWig · 21/05/2019 08:39

she rung me yesterday as the banks had closed and she wanted coffee

Diddums.

Ohyesiam · 21/05/2019 08:39

Coffee?

LizzieSiddal · 21/05/2019 08:40

Yes, unfortunately.

She grew up eventually (23) 😂

EleanorReally · 21/05/2019 08:41

and food, its her last week which doesnt help

OP posts:
RottnestFerry · 21/05/2019 08:42

Why not take a cup of coffee up to her.

Perhaps some biscuits too.

ssd · 21/05/2019 08:42

I wouldn't take the train for 2 hours so my dd could have coffee, when she could get it the next day the banks are open. If she expected you to do this I don't think you've brought her up right.

EleanorReally · 21/05/2019 08:43

mine has one more year until she is 23 Lizzie,

fingers crossed Grin

i didnt offer to go folks , it obviously just wasnt the coffee, just concerned about her lack of funds, but as has been pointed out, the banks are open today,

Food is different from just coffee, but of a drip feed there.
