I have a DP free evening and the different routine means I've forgotten to feed myself... despite being the person who usually thinks about food constantly.

I need something now, but don't want to spend more than 5 mins preparing it and i want it to be utterly delicious. AIBU to think that this isn't possible? Help me, wise MNetters Grin

@FurryTurnipHead Isn't it just. Possibly the most underrated meal ever.

Branleuse · 20/05/2019 22:47

stir fry soup noodles.
A bag of stir fry vegetables. stir fry them for a bit, then boiling water, and some seasoning or chicken flavour stock and whatever your favourite noodles are, then leave it to cook for about 20 mins. 5 mins before the end I add a bag of bean sprouts. Bit of soy sauce
Barely any preparation

Too late for today but fresh pumpkin ravioli served with fresh sage butter. Food of the Gods and takes 5 mins to make.

Branleuse · 20/05/2019 22:48

some chicken in it or cashew nuts is nice too

goodbyestranger · 20/05/2019 22:52

I came in late and just made a fennel omelette - four mins (melt butter, fry fennel with garlic, pour in eggs, bit of parmesan, that's it). Bit of salad and a Perroni too. Perfect.

small2018 · 20/05/2019 22:58

Halloumi salad -yum!!

Aroundtheworldandback · 20/05/2019 22:58

Avocado & hummus. Grilled hallumi on rocket with lemon and pistachio. Wild salmon with mayonnaise, lemon & rosemary under grill.

CSIblonde · 20/05/2019 23:01

Ritz cheese biscuits or Carrs water biscuts, grapes & brie (or any cheese of your choice).

clippityclop · 20/05/2019 23:09

Another vote for omelette. Ideally with bits of bacon, onion, perhaps a few left over spuds and too much cheese. And wine.

Pasithea · 20/05/2019 23:10

Grated cheese and apple on toast with black pepper.

Stravapalava · 20/05/2019 23:14

Cheese toastie (optional extras - mushrooms, onions, tomato, ham.) Or cheese toastie croissant is even better

Soup & toast

Tin of tomatoes heated up with loads of garlic, mixed herbs and salt with buttered toast for dipping

clary · 20/05/2019 23:24

I know I'm late to this party but Cheese omelette, I love it, takes three minutes, lob butter into hot pan, beat eggs while it melts, when it stops fizzing lob the eggs in, mmmmm

No one else likes it either so it's a proper treat of a solitary dinner.

CynthiaRothrock · 20/05/2019 23:40

Seriously loving some of the suggestions but they are making my fridge/ cupboard look crap! This weeks magic meal i discovered by accident tomato ciabatta with stir fried cajun chicken with tomato and spinach.

Reaah · 20/05/2019 23:45

Crispy bacon
Rocket
Fresh shaved parmesan
Chopped avocado

Marmite pasta?

DarlingNikita · 20/05/2019 23:48

TBH with those things in my fridge, OP, I'd stand in front of it with the door open and just trough away (with the loaf in one hand).

Follow with a cup of tea and any biscuits/fruit/chocolate you have.

DorothyBastard · 21/05/2019 00:37

@rainbowscalling I don’t really know if it reheats well or not... I’ve never found myself with leftovers as it’s always all been scoffed at the first sitting!

Aguamenti · 21/05/2019 12:38

nuggets wraps with salsa sauce and salad in it. Yum

BloodyDisgrace · 21/05/2019 12:49

Olives. If you like olives, of course.

But, I'm afraid, if you want proper food/meal, you have to spend time.
