I have a DP free evening and the different routine means I've forgotten to feed myself... despite being the person who usually thinks about food constantly.

I need something now, but don't want to spend more than 5 mins preparing it and i want it to be utterly delicious. AIBU to think that this isn't possible? Help me, wise MNetters Grin

Welsh rarebit...mmmmm

SoftSheen · 20/05/2019 20:46

Eggy bread with maple syrup (you might like bacon with it too)

Bella444 · 20/05/2019 20:47

Bruschetta. Toasted bread, rub of garlic, olive oil, chopped tomatoes and basil. Extra oil and balsamic if needed 😊

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 20/05/2019 20:47

Chickpea curry - fry an onion with some spices, tip in a can of rinsed chickpeas and a can of tomatoes, simmer for 15 mins while you drink a wine, eat.

OK, longer than 5 mins but you're not doing anything for 15 of them...

Or really well-done cheese on toast with Wocester sauce.

fishoutofwine · 20/05/2019 20:48

I’ve literally just had avocado and bacon on toast for very similar reasons. ‘‘Twas delicious.

fishoutofwine · 20/05/2019 20:49

Though I would also second cheese on toast with a dash of Worcester sauce.

Racheyg · 20/05/2019 20:50

Just got in from work so I'm having eggs with spinach and avocado on toast with a tomato salsa and lots of hot sauce

Breastfeedingworries · 20/05/2019 20:50

Tuna and pasta with sweet corn and mayo. Bonus you properly will have it all tinned, plus it’s quick...

Not sure if it’s been said. Also add that frozen garlic bread that’s in your freezer and a bit of salad.

Oysterbabe · 20/05/2019 20:51

Beans on toast and grated cheese.

WindsweptEgret · 20/05/2019 20:51

Peanut butter on seeded bread
Scrambled egg on toast
Dried fruit and nuts
Very dark chocolate

DorothyBastard · 20/05/2019 20:52

Nigella’s marmite pasta. Much more delicious than it sounds

Mokepon · 20/05/2019 20:53

I love a bits&,bobs dinner.
Crusty bread and butter, olives, pickles, sundried tomatos, cheese, salami or bresola or some.kind.of cured.meat type.thing.

I can.kid.myself it's healthy but pick.all evening at my personalised buffet 😁

MissMary0fSweden · 20/05/2019 20:53

It has to be cheese on toast.

CheekyFuckersDontGetPastMe · 20/05/2019 20:56

Tortilla wrap in frying pan, sprinkle grated cheese and tear bits of ham etc add another wrap and fry till cheese is melted.

I love a fish finger sandwhich as well.

Jsmith99 · 20/05/2019 20:57

Poached eggs on toast, If you have decent bread, good butter and very fresh eggs. Otherwise, how about pasta with olive oil, garlic, chilli, herbs and a handful of prawns?

WhiteDust · 20/05/2019 20:58

Best 'can't be bothered to cook tonight' meals:

Jacket potato, cheese and beans

Omelette with ham, spring onion and cheese

Soup and crusty bread

Welsh rarebit (cheese, mustard toast) and salad

Pasta, creme fraiche & pesto

Pasta with stir in sauce pot

Hotterthanahotthing · 20/05/2019 20:58

Egg and chips with buttered bread.Comfort food.

shouldwestayorshouldwego · 20/05/2019 20:58

currently a toss up between Apple and cheese and calling the Chinese (and pretending it wasn't me that called them with a particularly similar order 2 days ago...)
Any sane reason why you can't do both? After all it could be a while before it arrives so Apple and cheese now as a starter in anticipation of the Chinese to follow, then you only need to sort out dessert and you are done!

SleepingIsOverrated · 20/05/2019 21:00

@shouldwestayorshouldwego I don't know you, but it sounds like we could be friends Grin

Cheese and biscuits 👌 it’s what I have just eaten. Wish I had made more as I can’t be bothered to make more

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 20/05/2019 21:00

Marmite pasta

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 20/05/2019 21:00

crisp sandwich

DerrenBrownings · 20/05/2019 21:00

@shouldwest has got it in one

Polarbearflavour · 20/05/2019 21:01

Crusty bread and cheese.

TheTrollFairy · 20/05/2019 21:01

chips with buttered bread

The dinner of the gods. Oven baked just isn’t the same as fried ones - the crunchyish type, not chip shop type. But if you go for chip shop ones make sure you get curry sauce 🤤🤤
