To ask for your final GoT predictions

Our very last chance to speculate.
Btw I'm not really understanding all the hate for the latest series. Still enjoying it! My two penn'orth:
Dany dies - maybe at Jon's hands. Arya goes back to live out her days with the Faceless Men (Is that their name??). There's a lovely peaceful coalition between all the goodies: Tyrion (Lanister), Sansa (Stark), Jon (Targeryan), Gendry (Baratheon), Yara (Greyjoy) - so all the houses, but some inkling of trouble to come at the end. Final shot of some hitherto unknown dragon's eggs. Just leaves Bran ...? No idea about him, but it better tie up his story decently!!

Is this thread allowed leak spoilers? Because those who have seen the leaks will be disappointed with the end if it's true.

DroningOn · 19/05/2019 13:33

Dunno but they need to get their finger out, a lot to wrap up in one episode.

If the whole of GoT 8 series was a 2 hr movie then this episode is the movie's final 2min!

Knowivedonewrong · 19/05/2019 13:34

I haven't seen the leaks, but DD has. We will not be happy with the outcome apparently. 🤔

NigesFakeWalkingStick · 19/05/2019 13:39

I've seen the leaks so to speculate would be to spoil it for other people Grin

My feelings toward said leaks are meh. Not happy with the outcome but they've sort of made a rod for their own back by the past few episodes that could only be rectified by what is going to happen.

I've enjoyed the series but see major flaws with the writing and direction of how characters have turned out.

Dairyqueen2 · 19/05/2019 13:46

Oh - haven't seen any plausible leaks ... please don't tell. Maybe there's no point speculating if lots of people already know Shock

There is already a GoT predictions thread.

RickJames · 19/05/2019 13:50

I honestly don't have a clue! And I'm quite glad about that. I've loved the last series but it is messing with the story in the books. I just can't see where the prophecies fit in at all.

I don't think it's wierd that Dany went nuclear on kings landing. She's had a very stressful couple of years and her last month was horrendous - anyone would crack. I would have preferred it if she'd just flown up to the Red Keep and blasted it rather than the whole city.

EC22 · 19/05/2019 13:53

If Jon kills Dany I will be mad.
Proper mad!

bakingisnotforwimps · 19/05/2019 13:58

@EC22 mad enough to jump on your dragon and incinerate your nearest city? Wink

Pinkprincess1978 · 19/05/2019 14:00

I have not seen any leaks. I usually don't mind leaks but happy to go into this episode with closed eyes - I can't wait to see how they end it. Although I wasn't happy with the last episode particularly I've enjoyed the series as a whole and can't understand the venom against the writers. It's not been tat bad a finish.

LoveSatsumas · 19/05/2019 14:01

I get the feeling it'll have a cliffhanger ending.
Maybe the last shot will be a white walker or either Cersei or Jaime coming out of the rubble.
Have really enjoyed the whole thing but as with MASH, it'll take some getting used to it being over.

Dairyqueen2 · 19/05/2019 14:13

Yeah - I've been moved by quite a lot of the deaths and departures this season. I feel that a lot of venom towards the writers is just people's bitterness that it's actually ending.

OP posts:
FindaPenny · 19/05/2019 14:22

I think it's quite possible Jon will kill dany.... He has been so wishy washy/useless this season, surely they have to make him do something dramatic! The only thing I can't imagine is Jon ruling after killing her... Maybe he will go join ghost with the wild lings and sansa will rule?

Dairyqueen2 · 19/05/2019 14:23

Yes, i think he'll join the wildlings too. His goodbye to Tormund + Sam + Ghost kind of suggested to me that they'd meet again.

OP posts:
FindaPenny · 19/05/2019 14:24

Also would anyone else like to have seen an uninjured Jamie make a death pact with cersei.... She kills herself and he just walks away? I just find his death a bit disappointing after what happened with Brienne!

EC22 · 19/05/2019 14:29

The whole Jamie thing was just stupid. He’s been becoming a good guy for years then they do that.

I’m so annoyed about this season.
I’m already mad, to the point I’m not really caring how it ends.

InTheEndgameNow · 19/05/2019 14:32

I've seen the leaks. Awful if true.

I read elsewhere that HBO had the money and the will to do another 13 episode series but the writers refused.

I think the writers have clearly got bored and lazy and just want it over and done with. So this is the result.

Dairyqueen2 · 19/05/2019 14:34

The Cersei death thing was apparently the fulfilment of a prophesy in the books - that she'd die with her brother's hands around her neck. That's why she didn't trust Tyrion. They fudged it a bit with the neck/throat/face But i thought it was clever Confused
PS I haven't read the books - don't flame me.

OP posts:
Cottonwoolmouth · 19/05/2019 14:38

Ive not seen any leeks and don’t want to but I’ve started watching from the very beginning again and I’ve a feeling Gendry will be sat on the throne.

Dairyqueen2 · 19/05/2019 14:47

It's a bit crap that Gendry disappeared for ... 4 seasons?? . .. and now he's suddenly a key figure.

OP posts:
TheABC · 19/05/2019 14:52

Everyone dies.
Drogan nests in the throne room.

awalkintheparka · 19/05/2019 14:55

Arya is already dead....

TheLazyDuchess · 19/05/2019 15:01

Sansa is standing with her hands bound in chains, looking regal. Jon and Arya are tied up and trying desperately to get free, everyone else not team Dany looks horrified, but they do nothing. What could they do?

Dany walks up to Sansa, with Drogon behind her (like when she burned Varys), looking infuriatingly smug, and she asks Sansa, "have you any last words". Cut to Brans eyes rolling back/going white, as he wargs into Drogon, then we see Drogons eyes change. Close up as Sansa gives Dany a cold smile, and says "Dracarys", then Bran/Drogon turns on Dany, hits her with a huge burst of flame, and devours her alive.

I daydreamed this in the shower the other morning, would love for it to actually happen but not likely.

I think it'll end like Phil Wang predicted on thronecast, with another mad Targ on the iron throne, (how the song of ice and fire began), and the lesson is "nothing changes, there is no good and evil, only power and chaos".

Rach182 · 19/05/2019 15:04

Nah the venom to the writers is because since they've moved away from the books, the script and pacing has been woeful. It used to take at least 2 episodes to travel from the north to kings landing, now they're jumping across the world in minutes.

Also the clever characters used to actually say clever things (such as Tyrion, Varys and Cersei), because the clever lines were lifted directly from the books. Now we can only rely on the fact that everyone tells us they're clever rather than seeing it for ourselves through their witticisms or actions. E.g. Tyrion's very stupid advice in the last two seasons (the seasons away from the books) has lost Danaerys pretty much all her armies and allowed her to be outsmarted by Cersei several times.

Also the inconsistency is ridiculous. One dragon gets killed immediately in one episode by the spears (And for some reason Denearys could not see the boats although she is flying above them and was ambushed by the same fleet in the same way last season). Yet in the last episode, she was able to avoid every single spear and singlehandedly invade and destroy kings landing with one dragon. If she could win on her own with one dragon, what the fuck was the point in her accumulating armies in seasons 3-6? She didn't need an army, she had 3 dragons. The game of thrones should have ended at season 4 when her dragons were fully grown.

How did half of the northern and danaerys' armies survive the battle with the white walkers?

Who was the night king and why did they spend 7 seasons building up winter is coming and the battle for him to be killed off in one episode with no explanation as to what he wanted, who he was, and why he was there?

Jon Snow was meant to be Ahor Azai, the one who was promised, yet he had little to do in the actual battle with the night king, his Dragon is dead, he ignored his direwolf and has spent this season repeating the lines "I don't want it" " you're my queen".

Both big reveals about Jon's true parentage to his siblings and Tyrion were cut off. The writers were too lazy to give us their reaction to go the biggest secret of the whole franchise

I could go on but all I can say is lazy, lazy writing, massive plot holes and inconsistencies have ruined the past two seasons.

Don't get me wrong, the acting is still great and the production is beautiful but I became a fan of GoT for the clever script, the political manouvering and complex characters and their arcs. Without that it, GoT is just an average action movie in TV format.

LettuceP · 19/05/2019 15:07

No prediction for who will end up on the throne but I think someone will kill danaerys, maybe Jon or arya. I'd like sansa to be queen as I think she will be a good queen and everyone would support her but I don't think it will happen.
