Hello

For those of you who haven't yet heard, we've got a new AIBU podcast hosted by Aasmah Mir and Lucy Porter. The most recent two episodes (follower MNer feedback) focus on AIBU classic threads.

Tune in to hear Lucy and Aasmah recount the tale of the Bridezilla who 'thought you might want to adjust the size of your contribution', discuss plans for a special hospicle for DHs who are very very not well with terrible colds, and agree fully with the demonisation of Spanish food-eating bastards eating Spanish food in Spain.

Download and subscribe on Acast, Spotify or Apple Podcasts (we believe we are also now on Stitcher and Podbean, if indeed those are real things)

WARNING: still contains fizzy piss noise. SORRY to those of you with applicable misophonia.

Let us know what you think!

Thanks
MNHQ

How high is that gin being poured from to make that noise!

Ah, the world of radiophonics

Slight tangent, @RowanMumsnet, but when I read a thread, I can 'hear' the different voices of all the posters.

I have often thought that some threads would make superb radio plays. For example, EMIN's thread about fostering little 'Butterfly'.

Would this be something MNHQ might want to look at doing? (Obv would need OPs and contributors' consent).

Oh that's a lovely idea. I will push it tentatively in the direction of the higher ups.

(I considered refusing to reply to your post until you'd promised you'd downloaded and subscribed to the podcast, but it's Friday/5.45/Crackerjack so I didn't)

But I have downloaded them!

I'm a good girl, I am Grin

Will listen in bed tonight.

picklemepopcorn · 17/05/2019 17:39

Behold, I have subscribed. Despite being of the 'what's a podcast?' generation, who has only ever managed to listen to the archers.

BoreOfWhabylon · 17/05/2019 17:49

Me too, pickle!

AdamAntsCrackpotHistory · 17/05/2019 19:48

And me too! Looking forward to listening!

CheekyFuckersDontGetPastMe · 17/05/2019 22:53

And me, but I’ve downloaded and now listening...

theboomtownrat · 17/05/2019 22:56

Oh I can't wait to listen! Thanks mnhq

SneakyGremlins · 18/05/2019 01:48

I've never listened to a podcast but I can't deal with loud sounds - will the pouring of wee put me off?

BadHairDyeDay · 18/05/2019 08:33

These look brilliant but for some reason I can't download them! What am I doing wrong?

Trumpton · 18/05/2019 12:50

Sat sitting in airport departure lounge and embarrassed myself by laughing out loud !
Really enjoyed the presentation .

Ringsender2 · 18/05/2019 20:36

Fab (havent listened yet).

I've been wishing for a text to speech facility to read the threads to me when I'm driving long distances.

AwdBovril · 18/05/2019 22:47

Quite good so far. However the population is not dwindling! (Episode 3) Too much gin?

AmazingGrace16 · 19/05/2019 05:04

It's brilliant!

Snufflepiglet · 19/05/2019 15:51

Can someone pleeeease tell me how to get Alexa to play this on Stitcher? She cannot understand me and it is driving me insane!

Hippychick78 · 20/05/2019 09:44

Giving number 1 a listen on the way to get a tooth out 🤯

Will report back

Hippychick78 · 20/05/2019 10:15

Really enjoyed episode 1 as my dust ever podcast listen. The ladies voices are very likeable and the laughs genuine. Found myself nodding along with it grinning while walking up the street

Only slight annoyance for me was the little music intro like ba-da da! -da! Very annoying, But that's maybe just me 🤔

Will do episode 2 on the bus home

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 20/05/2019 13:16

Listened to a few episodes in the car yesterday and mostly enjoyed them - the presenters are warm and funny and the chat around the detail of threads is great. I didn't really like the A-list Adjudicator bit - using the headlines only means that all the fun stuff is missed out.

One thing that bothered me is the variable volume - I had to turn it up quite loud to catch the conversation, but then the jingle and adverts were painfully loud.

ShirleyAvenue · 20/05/2019 15:33

Very enjoyable!

SleepingIsOverrated · 20/05/2019 19:06

Thought I'd listen for the first time as I got ready for a (child free!!!) outing..... Trying to apply eyeliner whilst listening to this is impossible Grin thank you MNHQ!!

EverybodysTalkingAtMe · 21/05/2019 09:16

.

ClaudiaWankleman · 21/05/2019 15:02

I am really enjoying the podcast - the hosts really hit the spot for me.
I am a big podcast listener and will add this to my weekly repertoire.

However, I really hate the 'It's the AIBU A List Adjudicator of the Week!' man and the theme music - both really don't fit the general feel of the podcast. The AIBU man reminds me of the X Factor announcer, in the worst way possible.

Hmm eek. Where are you trying to download them from, and to what (ie to your laptop, or phone or whatever)?

We'll see if we can help
