To ask what's going on with my body?!

QueenBeex · 14/05/2019 08:36

Good morning!
Ok so just to get it out the way with for people that may ask, no I'm not here asking you to tell me if I'm pregnant, the answer to that is no I'm definitely not.

Since I started my period aged 12 if I remember correctly I've never ever been more than 4 days late in my life (mid twenties now) last month i was a few days late nothing alarming though.

However this month I've had period pains for the last 2 weeks, im currently 14 days late and yesterday morning I had a very small amount of brown blood but absolutely nothing at all since, yet still the pains!

What is going on! This is driving me mad, when I'm at work with the pains i rush to the toilet with a tampon because I don't want to leak but there's nothing, its so strange for my body personally, my cycle is normally so regular.

So that you don't panic OP - my periods completely changed when I was about 27, they turned longer and less heavy, so it could just be a natural change with no cause for concern.

Grumpos · 14/05/2019 12:44

Maybe you just didn’t ovulate or it was delayed for some reason this month?
I wouldn’t necessarily rush to the dr because realistically they can’t do anything (other than test for pregnancy!) but if you had a period last month and all the months before and the tests are coming back negative it’s unlikely (and as you say, you don’t believe you are).
Probably just failure to ovulate, I’d write it off and wait for body to regulate itself but that’s mainly because I think GPs are a bit of a waste of time for anything period / gyno related.

nanbread · 14/05/2019 12:47

Pain for two weeks def needs checking out ASAP

QueenBeex · 14/05/2019 18:44

I haven't had my smear test because it's not due till the end of this year, when I get an app through of course I'd go. I wouldn't miss a smear test.

I'll probably wait abit longer before I go to the doctors then, its not the missing a period bit that confuses me, i understand people go alot longer without one. It's the fact that I've had period pains for the past 2 weeks but only the smallest brown blood dot.

Without having done a test how are you so sure you’re not pregnant? Not being aggressive just asking to see if we can maybe rule it out eg) last had sex 4 months ago and 3 regular periods since

EnoughLifeLessons · 14/05/2019 18:52

Not to scare you, but changes like this can mean something very serious.Ring your doctors now and make an appointment, don’t wait.

QueenBeex · 14/05/2019 18:53

When I do have periods (extremely regularly since I first started) i am normally heavy, leak through quickly etc, always very bad pain (enough to make me not be able to move) I have gone to the doctor at least 5 times about this over the years, but that's a different story!

I don't feel I've been under any more stress lately than usual.

The only thing that's changed in the past month is I've stopped taking a certain type of medication (nothing related to contraception in the slightest) because I wanted to see if I could handle / control myself without it, the doctor doesn't know I've stopped it which again I do realise is very risky and wasn't the right thing to do at all, but at the time when I decided to just stop taking them I wasn't really thinking about the pros and cons. I did start taking my medication today again though, and I won't be stopping / starting again without talking go my gp in advance.

You dont come across as aggressive :) The reason im sure I'm not pregnant is because

  1. Period pains
  2. Regular normal periods untill now
  3. I've been told due to certain personal reasons that getting pregnant naturally would be difficult for me.
  4. I last had unprotected sex at least 2/3 months ago
  5. I did do 1 test last month, negative.

I just honestly dont have any reason to believe I could be pregnant.

OP are you referring to ADs for your medication? If so, I have had a similar experience with the symptoms you've had coming off them!

yellowpolkadots101 · 14/05/2019 19:02

Just read your update, if you've had unprotected sex I would be inclined to say a possible pregnancy. I would definitely carry out a test. Not all tests are 100% accurate so you cant rely on your previous test entirely.

Fluffymullet · 14/05/2019 19:03

I had period type pains and brown spotting for about 2 weeks begore I realised I was pregnant! It's an early pregnancy symptom.

If you had unprotected sex 2-3months ago i would be taking a pregnancy test Asap!

SmellMySmellbow · 14/05/2019 19:07

My money is on you being pregnant. If you had a period since you had unproteccted sex that doesn't mean much - you could have had implantation bleeding that you took as being a period. Or if you've had sex with a condom more recently that could have resulted in a pregnancy too (split condom? Or if it wasn't put on until after some penetration?)

QueenBeex · 14/05/2019 20:13

I'm going to do a test tonight once I get home just to be extra sure it's not that, I am sure it's not pregnancy caused though! I'll update you all tonight and we'll go from thereConfused

Good luck!

Rachierach11 · 14/05/2019 20:53

See your GP. Could be any number of things. I’d be interested to hear how the pregnancy test goes though. I’m currently very pregnant and have had what feels like period pains throughout. Good luck OP

Limezested · 14/05/2019 21:14

Hope test helps answer some Q one way or another

Fatted · 14/05/2019 21:20

OP, if you want to have a reliable pregnancy test, do it first thing in the morning. Your wee is stronger, has more of the hormone and you'll get a more accurate result.

I say this as a woman who had a negative result from doing a test at night and a positive then 36 hours later in the morning.

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 14/05/2019 21:34

I, too, would suggest you see your doctor. I had similar symptoms (also in my twenties) and it turned out to be an ovarian cyst.

flep · 14/05/2019 21:35

So strange.

I've been having similar symptoms as you OP, but some different history.

• Older (mid thirties).
• Had copper coil removed 8 weeks ago after bleeding for the whole time I had it (over half a year of constant bleeding, no lie...and the nurse still wanted me to give it longer!). No period since.
• NO unprotected sex. Was even using condoms when I had the coil.
• Started spotting a few days into May and some cramping, but no full blown period. Ongoing.
• Last took a test (negative) a few days before the spotting started (I test every few weeks because my cycle can be irregular).
• Fully up-to-date with smears.

I think in my case it's partly weight and maybe partly because I lost so much blood and tissue for months and months beforehand with the coil. I didn't see the coil after the nurse removed it, but I wouldn't be surprised if half my uterus lining came out with it because I carried on bleeding for nearly a week after it was gone.

Good luck OP. I'll probably do a test tomorrow. I won't be impressed if I'm pregnant given how careful I am.

QueenBeex · 14/05/2019 22:19

So I'm writing this as I'm shaking like leaf, crying everywhere too!
I am pregnant
2 tests done both very pregnant
I was told at 18 that it'd be difficult to get pregnant naturally so I'm so shocked to say the least. I always use condoms apart from once and this happens. I'm not sure what to say but thank you every one
