Thinking of sending Dd to.nursery for 1 or 2 days a week.

Looking at prices just now and ranging from £30-50 per day, meals included, time 8-6

Can I ask what you pay ? Just trying to work out what the average price is though i know its relative to where you live etc

In New Zealand, we paid the equivalent of £24 a day, with everything included. Moving to the UK, we paid £72, needed to provide nappies, wipes, wellies, outdoor gear...

icedgem85 · 11/05/2019 16:58

£1700 for my 2 year old. He goes 9-6 and that includes 2 meals a day. It’s not a posh nursery but has lovely outside space which is scarce in London.

feeona123 · 11/05/2019 17:03

£70 8-6 everything included Berkshire

Fab nursery but I will be glad when school starts and our bank balance increases!

Abbazed · 12/05/2019 07:44

I flipping love the 30 hours scheme! I'm in the Lake District too so not cheap.

Abbazed · 12/05/2019 07:45

Previously paid 500 for three full days Inc nappies and meals

Heymummee · 12/05/2019 07:47

We pay £44.50 a day in Cheshire and that’s from 7:30-18:00. Breakfast, snacks, lunch and afternoon tea included. They pro rats the fees to accommodate for bank holidays and 4 weeks off per year, so you pay the same every month even if they take time off. Tax free childcare saves us 20% and the term after he turns 3 we qualify for 30 hours free. Our nursery allows you to spread the free hours over 52 weeks instead of just term time and you pay the difference.

Firsttimemama2017 · 12/05/2019 07:54

£42 per day (7.30-17.30) outskirts of Cardiff

WingingWonder · 12/05/2019 07:58

East mids. Very average town.
Private Nursery is £48-65 a day. I’d say most around £55
Childminders are less but they all have about 7 kids on school runs so less flex on drop off times and obs kids are in a buggy for 2 hours a day

mummabubs · 12/05/2019 07:59

Cardiff - £67 a day which includes food, nappies and sun cream.

It's one of the more expensive ones around here but our first nursery we signed up to literally forgot to save a place and we only found out a month before I went back to work. Turns out it was for the best as the care our DS receives at his more expensive nursery is phenomenal and I know people who've had issues with the cheaper one.

I'm so shocked by how much costs are varying on this thread. Yorkshire prices make me want to cry but then I feel so sorry for the Londoners!

Bananalanacake · 12/05/2019 08:15

in North Germany. under 3s are 170euros a month but the government gives you 100 euro towards it. when they are 3 and over it's 150 a month. this is 7 to 2pm and you must provide nappies and meals.

Scotinoz · 12/05/2019 08:23

£62.50/day for my 4 year old in South Manchester 😭 Includes everything, and they're open half 7 until half 6.

It is brilliant though, and they do SO much with them.

Youngandfree · 12/05/2019 08:31

I’m not in uk I’m in Ireland where it’s free for the hours of 9-12 from the age of 3 for two years before school. So my DS starts at 8.30 (which our nursery kindly don’t charge for either ) then is €4 an hour until I collect him at half 3. So I pay €14 per day.

Those uk prices are crazy!! 😭

Youngandfree · 12/05/2019 08:37

Oh and the best thing is if he doesn’t go we don’t pay, so if I’m off early or if he’s sick then the bill is less!

babyvans · 12/05/2019 08:48

£84 a day - SW London

Wheresmrlion · 12/05/2019 08:57

£48 for half a day (8-1) in Surrey including meals, snacks and nappies.
Crazy considering how little the lovely staff are paid.

nespressowoo · 12/05/2019 09:36

£46 a day includes all food. Doesn't include nappies. Absolutely love DS's nursery.

Abbazed · 14/05/2019 18:30

84£ you Southerners are mental!

Abbazed · 14/05/2019 18:31

How the hell do you afford that?

River86 · 14/05/2019 23:07

Update. I went to see nursery which is £46 full day 8-6. 3 meals and snacks all home cooked. Nappies etc also included.
Nursery set on a working farm, purpose built and seems to adopt montessori education (from how she was describing a typical day) learning is very much led my the children and they get to interact with all ages with outside play. Outside play all weather too.

What questions would you ask when visiting a nursery . I know i am a bit late in asking, however the owner said to email if i had any further questions.

BackToDecember · 14/05/2019 23:31

£53 per day 7 am to 5:30 pm in the West Midlands.

BackToDecember · 14/05/2019 23:32
