To want to go to Ibiza to see Calvin Harris (I’m over 50)

Just that really....

I love Calvin Harris, I listen to his music all the time. But am I too old to go to Ibiza if I’m over 50?

I wouldn’t go clubbing every night, just have a normal family holiday and go to Pasha the night he is on. My husband is keen, but we would probably be the oldest folk there, and feel a bit silly. We do go to gigs a lot, but this is well out of our comfort zone.

Our three grown up sons will think this is hilarious!

All I hear about is people in the 40 to 60 plus bracket going to Ibiza etc.
As someone else said, it's not cheap and this group of people seem to have more money to go over there.
Plus music is for everyone regardless of age.

Slatkater · 10/05/2019 21:37

GO, of course you’re not too old. I went to see Dave recently, I was the oldest there by 30 years as kindly pointed out by my daughter!

R2G · 10/05/2019 21:43

Go of course ibiza very relaxed all ages

countdowntonap · 10/05/2019 21:44

Is Calvin at Pacha or Ushuaia? I went to Ushuaia at 30 and found it to be full of .... the worst place I’ve been in Ibiza. Everywhere else (excluding anywhere in Bossa) has always been amazing.

Wrongdissection · 10/05/2019 21:45

Oooh I’m 36 and DD and I were talking about doing Ibiza next year together to see Calvin. I was worried I’d be the oldest raver in town. Just gotta hope DD will still want to go with me!

escapingtothecountry · 10/05/2019 21:46

He has a residency in Vegas......I’ve been to Ibiza and Vegas, if I had to chose which one to go back to in my mid 40s it would be Vegas.

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 10/05/2019 21:51

I was chatting to someone the other day who went to Ibiza for a party holiday in her forties, said she had an amazing time and there were plenty of older people, didn’t feel out of place at all. Go and enjoy!

likeafishneedsabike · 10/05/2019 22:28

Only been to Ibiza the once. Ageless. Go for it, but get saving Grin

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm · 10/05/2019 22:41

So can you watch the gig from your hotel room @igglu?

I was thinking about going to Vegas @escapingtothecountry, but it would need to be a family trip for that distance, and our youngest is under 21, so wouldn’t be able to go to Calvin’s residency. Hence changing our focus to Ibiza. My husband and I could just nip away for a few nights. Ooh I’m seriously considering it now. Thank you all for making me feel ok about it.

Do it! And I trust you you won’t be the oldest person there! Pacha is a very middle class club and at aged 35 at times I’m the youngest person in there x

Leftielefterson · 10/05/2019 22:57

Do it and absolutely enjoy every second. Lots of people in their 50s when I went there. You’re only as old as you feel!

Justbreathing · 10/05/2019 22:58

JUST GO
YOURE NOT OLD

Mof3K · 10/05/2019 23:00

PinkHeartLovesCake · 10/05/2019 23:01

I've been to Ibiza so many times and I'm not really sure it has an age limit. Who cares what anyone thinks anyway, your an adult if you want to do something go for it!

None of us are getting out of here alive so live your life

ilovepixie · 10/05/2019 23:07

When are you going? My DP and I are going in September. I will be 51 and he will be 56 and we intend to go clubbing!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm · 10/05/2019 23:42

Not sure of dates @ilovepixie. Will have a look at cheapest flights and work from there. Try and avoid school holidays if possible....?

Yep. Literally step outside from the room we were in and the stage is there. There's different types of room though, but all give you access to whatever is on that day.

maddy68 · 11/05/2019 00:11

Go. I've been loads of times. And I'm well over 50! You won't be out of place. Loads of aging hippies in Ibiza.

Dieu · 11/05/2019 05:01

Go for it! I love him too Smile

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 11/05/2019 05:03

Why on earth would you not go!

Stripyseagulls · 11/05/2019 06:27

I’m 46 and off to Glastonbury next month where I will be raving my arse off! Life is for living!!!

waterrat · 11/05/2019 06:32

I'm early 40s and used to go to Ibiza a lot. I would not think twice about it. The good clubs in Ibiza are filled with clubbers from across Europe of all ages - even when o was there 20 years ago I would not have noticed older people. But not as the rave generation is older anyway it will be common to see people in their 40s and 50s. Remember many of the djs like Pete Tong Carl Cox etc are about 50 now and they still play there.
