Was having a conversation with a friend this week and she's been banned from her local swimming centre for arguing with the receptionist. The receptionist didn't believe her daughters age and said that she was trying to get her in cheaper Confused resulting in the manager banning her for life!

It made me think of the time I was banned from Santa's grotto 15 years ago 🤦🏻‍♀️ I can't go into too much detail because it's extremely outing!

Have you ever been banned from somewhere and why?

Lighthearted 😬

Barred from a local pub (technically, I doubt they'd remember now) for punching a bloke who stuck his hand up my skirt and his mate who said I couldn't take a joke.

EstuaryBird · 10/05/2019 23:52

@potterhead1985. I’m glad you enjoyed it! Grin......it was worth the ban!

IKnowYouAndYouCannotSing · 10/05/2019 23:56

Outing but me and an ex boyfriend got threatened with a lifetime ban from the productions of the RSC when he started an argument with some ladies in the seats in front of us. I wanted the ground to swallow me up. I was so embarrassed. He was a lairy twat though so very much in keeping with his character. Would have been very irritating to get banned too as we both were/went on to become English teachers 😂

ItsHardToExplain · 11/05/2019 00:08

@MidsomerBurgers he’s dead now isn’t he so would have to get another psychic to answer that question Wink

DP was banned from a cafe. One of the kids knocked over a glass and broke it. DP exclaimed (not in English). One of the workers who did not understand the language accused him of swearing at her. He wasn't, he wasn't even looking at her. He said the equivalent of Oh God! - the glass hit a hard tile floor and seemed to shatter everywhere. She told him he had to leave and that he was banned.
I know this sounds like there must be more to it, but there really wasn't. Although I do suspect racism played a part.

RebeccaWrongDaily · 11/05/2019 00:15

2 local pubs, one for being underage (i was 28 and had no id, had been drinking in there since i was 16?) the other one because the crazy landlady thought her husband (who must've had 30 years on me and looked like Reg Hollis out of The Bill) fancied me.
Banned from having Iceland home deliveries - i'd ordered dd's party food to come from iceland. They arrived an hour early , called to ask if they could leave in garden, i said no, the delivery driver said I was abusive, i wasn't, i just didn't want him to dump a load of frozen food in my garden in July for DD's birthday party . I am now banned from home deliveries - address is blacklisted, i have an ocado pass and have done for many years

londonsfirst · 11/05/2019 00:21

I got banned from my local way back when I was 18 or 19 years old, for "distracting the bar manager".
I was dating him at the time and he had rejected the advances of a young woman customer who took interest in him. It was nothing to do with me, and I didn't ask or expect him to call her a trig, but I took the rap for it.

Rachie1973 · 11/05/2019 00:53

I got banned from the Britain First page and The Sun online lol. I didn’t like their agendas and kept telling them so.

rosiejaune · 11/05/2019 01:37

Multiple Facebook groups. I'm autistic, and admins don't tend to like me.

Sometimes it is disagreeing with them that is the issue (even though I'm not breaking any rules).

And sometimes there is a difference of opinion about what a vague word like "respect" in their rules means. I don't swear at people or use personal insults, but apparently you are not allowed to be at all direct, without it being considered rude.

Zfactorstar · 11/05/2019 01:51

I've worked in bars for over 12 years. I have been the banner on numerous occasions. I'm rolling my eyes at these stories and how many people are innocent victims of cruel owners. Props to the few who owned up to their behavior.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 11/05/2019 03:56

I got banned from Birmingham once years ago.
Have since been back several times and nobody ever noticed me though Grin

harrypotterfan1604 · 11/05/2019 04:04

I was banned from a supermarket for shoplifting even though I wasn’t shop lifting! Jumped up security guard being an arse. A massive complaint to the store manager soon solved it though !

Slapdasherie · 11/05/2019 04:35

The UK.

Overstayed my visa like an idiot. It was back in the 90s, I think it was for 5 or 10 years. They drew a cross in the departure stamp in my passport.

CustardOmlet · 11/05/2019 05:27

My house is banned from Tesco delivery. The nice people at the helpline have no idea why but I can’t register my address for delivery even though my next door neighbour gets her delivery.

Mamalicious16 · 11/05/2019 07:13

Ex DP was banned from a pub. There was an option to pre order your food by phone before you arrived. Duly did this and arrived at said pub 15 mins early . Food hadn't arrived 45 mins late so asked where it was as we had tickets for a show and needed to leave at a set time in order to get there. After further 30 mins we told them we had to leave in order to not miss the show. They then brought the food out. It was too late - we had to leave then and we told them this ( this was why we pre ordered ). The next time we went in ( we used to come here for a meal every week) we were told they weren't allowed to serve us anymore .........

HeronLanyon · 11/05/2019 08:20

mamaliscious16 blimey ! So in fact they weren’t allowed to NOT serve you anymore.

Youvegotafriendinme · 11/05/2019 09:51

Got banned from my local Woolworths for stealing a milky bar. I was 13 and mortified as I’d done it as a dare. Went back in there over a year later

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 11/05/2019 10:11

Yup Tunnel in Glasgow for being Gallus
Me & mate tried to get in,bouncer declined entry some spurious undisclosed reason
I was nonplussed said something like it’s a dump anyhoo, and quip you don’t need bouncers to keep folk out . you need bouncers to keep folk in
Bouncer shouts yer banned
That’s me and the Tunnel

Sizeofalentil · 11/05/2019 10:19

Me and DD are banned from Hartbeeps.

She was 11 months old and had just learned to walk that week. I put her on the floor, she walked across the room and the woman screamed "noooooooo".

Apparently it wasn't fair on the other babies and we'd have to leave (even though the class was for up to 18months).

Hollanda · 11/05/2019 10:26

Banned from a supposed gays friendly bar in my city for snogging my best friend outside. I'm married with kids, we were drunk.

The DJ outed us both and the landlady said we're not welcome.

The place was a hole anyway.

redexpat · 11/05/2019 10:27

Banned from a hotel in LA. It was a staff party in the training week before summer camp started. I have no idea what happened because I was asleep but found out later everyone from our camp was banned.

Hollanda · 11/05/2019 10:33

(If it helps the DJ was a mate of mine - not any more - and I don't know why she was so furious. I did tell my husband that night who asked me not to do that again which I won't, friend has moved away now and thus endeth my flirtation with being a lipstick lesbian). 😅 it wasn't really her issue to be so outraged anyway!!

thankyourforthemusic · 11/05/2019 10:58

I was once barred from a pub aged 17 for fighting ( a girl threw a drink at me so I jumped up and got thrown out ) a week later I apologised to LL and was let back in Grin,

Years later I got a girl banned from all works party's .
She worked at a different town but same company she got drunk , argument broke out but it was me that got a drink thrown at me ( there's a pattern here ) anyway she was frogmarch away and banned from all future events .
Funny thing was I worked there for years always went to the Christmas party but the year I left she was invited back Grin

Greyeye · 11/05/2019 12:58

A youth club, back in my teens because I used the bus they laid on as free transport and didn't actually go into the club. I got into a lot of trouble.

A pub after passing out drunk and, in my "sleep" I took the top half of my clothes off. Not good.

A writer's group. A woman wanted to take over the evening by flogging launching a self published book. I objected (politely) because the group was a paid for event and I thought it was rude of the woman to hijack someone else's event to pressurise us into buying her overpriced book promote her own project. The organiser kicked me out.

Mummadeeze · 11/05/2019 13:08

I was banned from going on the tube one night because I was too drunk. Not my proudest moment.
