To ask you to help me remember this cartoon from the early 2000's?

I know this is not a proper use of AIBU but I need to know!

The cartoon was an American one...it was based around the life of a little girl who lived in an apartment with her Mum. They were a lone parent family...they were both black.

The little girl had a friend who was a boy...it was quite a sort of moral cartoon I think. Not particularly silly...kind of like Curious George in style if I remember rightly.

Any ideas?

Anyone at all?

Sorry, it sounds a bit like one I'm trying to remember the name of but they were creatures rather than children if I remember rightly.

Moonbea · 02/05/2019 10:52

Can you remember what channel it was on and what age range it was aimed at?

HennyPennyHorror · 02/05/2019 10:52

No these were definitely people...a young girl and her Mother.

This is the one I was describing, but I doubt it's the one you're looking for, sorry.

Are you sure it was a tv show? Sounds like the family in ‘home’

HennyPennyHorror · 02/05/2019 11:01

Dog definitely a cartoon...with episodes. Not "Home" at all.

HennyPennyHorror · 02/05/2019 11:01

It was American.

AllTeaAllShade · 02/05/2019 11:04

was it a one off or several episodes?
Is the boy a human?

HennyPennyHorror · 02/05/2019 11:04

Daniel thanks...I was literally just trying to think. Which channels had American stuff on? It could have been Tiny Pop....any suggestions of other channels? Maybe it was Nick Jr though...GAH it's annoying me so much!

oops x posted.
I eas also thinking it was Home.

Merril · 02/05/2019 11:07

Not Little Bill? That was a boy though.

HennyPennyHorror · 02/05/2019 11:08

Tea it's a girl. I don't think I said it was a boy? It was episodic.

HennyPennyHorror · 02/05/2019 11:08

All human.

Merril great link but unfortunately not! I hope it's not one of those things which just slips through the net of consciousness!

My DD remembers it too...we both liked it back then.

Playhouse Disney and Nick Jr were the two that DS watched that showed the most US programmes (would have been around the 2005-2009 period). CBeebies not so much. Then there was Milkshake on Channel 5 too, plus shows on CITV. I'm guessing from the description it was aimed at preschool/infant aged children, if not then you've got channels like Cartoon Network, Disney SD, and Jetix that were around at about that time.

AllTeaAllShade · 02/05/2019 11:15

ignore me, I can't spell and managed to forget that you have already answered upthread...I've had a long night and no coffee haha
But its bugging me now, so I'll keep researching!

DanielRicciardosSmile · 02/05/2019 11:16

Disney XD sorry, this phone likes to think it knows better than I do what I'm trying to write.

HennyPennyHorror · 02/05/2019 11:18

Tea It's about a child and aimed at children...I mean...the child was the central character and it was for kids to watch.

Daniel no...slightly older than preschool...it would appeal to 6-11 I imagine. Mainly in the lower bracket.
