Milk or Cereal first?

Hi, my 13 year old son keeps arguing with me when I make his breakfast saying you put the cereal in first and then milk after but I put the milk in first followed by the cereal.
How do you do it?
Milk first or Cereal first?

I just don't like shouting at him as he deals with bullying at school and is quite sensitive so I don't want to upset him.

He can't be bothered because he knows you'll do it for him....

dontticklethetoad · 01/05/2019 20:24

And cereal first! What sort of lunatic puts milk first? I bet you put milk in first when making a cup of tea too Grin

Chippychipsforme · 01/05/2019 20:25

Cereal first. Obviously.

PirateWeasel · 01/05/2019 20:26

You don't have to shout at him, just tell him politely and calmly that he can make his own breakfast from now on.

KatyHarrison · 01/05/2019 20:26

Thanks pirate

You don’t have to shout. Just let him make his own breakfast or go without

KateyKube · 01/05/2019 20:28

I have never in my entire life seen anyone fill a bowl with milk and sprinkle cereal on top! Surely you put the cereal out first then add milk?

GlitterPixie · 01/05/2019 20:29

Cereal first of course Confused

RomanyQueen1 · 01/05/2019 20:30

Cereal first, who puts milk in first?
It's not normal Grin

myhamsteratefreddiestarr · 01/05/2019 20:31

Ceareal first

bourbonbiccy · 01/05/2019 20:31

Definitely cereal first ...... Milk first, no, I just can not process that !!! 😜😜

luckygreeneyes · 01/05/2019 20:32

I genuinely can’t believe there are people in the world who do milk first... mind blowing

MrsGarethSouthgate · 01/05/2019 20:32

cough I do milk first....

Glitterblue · 01/05/2019 20:33

Always cereal first, I've never even heard of anyone putting the milk in first - how do you know how much milk to put on?

MrsGarethSouthgate · 01/05/2019 20:33

It's because I only like warm milk, so I warm it first and then add cereal. So completely normal, acceptable and unremarkable, yes??

Bottledate · 01/05/2019 20:35

Adding cereal to milk is like adding squash to water - wrong! Grin

Unless you've overestimated how much milk you needed and just need to have a tiiiiny second helping to mop up the excess Wink

luckygreeneyes · 01/05/2019 20:36

If having hot milk I do cereal then milk and put whole thing in microwave or I heat milk in a mug then pour it over cereal

MaybeitsMaybelline · 01/05/2019 20:36

Cereal is the worlds easiest breakfast, my kids were pouring (and spilling) their own cereal from about six. No way would I pour his cereal for him, that is just enabling lazy ass behaviour.

PS, it most certainly is cereal first. 😂

happymummy12345 · 01/05/2019 20:38

Cereal first

Aprillygirl · 01/05/2019 20:40

I do it for my 13 year old son because he always tells me he can't be bothered.
That's teenagers for you though!!

Erm no that's YOUR teenager. My kids have been sorting out their own cereal since they were 7 years old.Get your kid to sort his own so that he can do it the correct way, which is of course cereal first.

goldenchicken · 01/05/2019 20:47

@KatyHarrison

Cereal first - then milk.

As has been said, anyone who puts in the milk first probably puts the water in a glass, before the undiluted squash! Or puts the milk in first in tea.

WEIRDO ALERT!!!!!!!!!! Grin

Oh and yeah I have to agree that it's odd to be getting a 13 y.o. their cereal and milk. Most kids do it themselves by about the age of 5!

BackforGood · 01/05/2019 21:07

That's not "teenagers for you".

My dc have been able to get their own breakfast from when they were about 6 iIrc (probably from 4 on the days they were at breakfast club).

No shouting needed - just tell him. If he doesn't then he'll be hungry.

StrawberrySquash · 01/05/2019 21:26

Cereal, tiny bit of milk. Eat moistened cereal, add more milk. Repeat. I don't like milk much and I hate sogginess.

TokenGinger · 01/05/2019 21:28

Cereal first. Your poor son Thanks
