Am I nuts to have a Hollywood was at 38 weeks I've had them lots of times but not during pregnancy.

I ended up getting my other half to shave me about two weeks ago and I just want to feel nice and clean (personal preference) I'm having a csection so it's not about lots of people seeing my lady area. It's just for me. Plus this is my 4th baby and first section so I have no worried about doctors seeing down their 😂😂

It really annoys me when women have a go at other women for their own preferences. I had my first wax the other day. I haven't slept with anyone for a year. This is purely for me. I much prefer being hair free down there. I get quite sweaty and it feels cleaner FOR me!

redbedheadd · 03/05/2019 22:55

I had a wax at 38 weeks before a c section. The hot wax was totally fine, not really more painful than normal and I was glad I had it done. Easy to remove bandage and stitches without hair.

HelenaDove · 04/05/2019 01:30

Its totally up to the individual what they do with their own bodies.

It was the misogynistic (now deleted) comment from a PP that no man will want to touch you down there if you dont shave that i objected to.

We all had full bushes in my day, never even crossed our minds to get rid of it. Other things might have been rubbish for women, and the hair on our legs and armpits was certainly subject to society's disapproval, but at least we didn't have to think about whether or not to channel porn actress right before birth. Sad

When we were calling for women to have more choices..this wasn't quite what we had in mind!

Men really are fantastically good at manipulating women via their bodily insecurities.

callmeadoctor We were taught if someone was a regular waxer it was fine. But anything other than a mum wax before birth wasn’t recommended.

DaisyDreaming · 04/05/2019 04:25

Wow can’t believe this boring thread (no offence OP) has made multiple papers. Why don’t journalists lift ‘stories’ off here of people fighting for important causes rather than a hair choice being ‘slammed’

Hope your ok OP

Do you never question why a man prefers his female partner to be hairless? It just gives me the heeby jeebies

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 04/05/2019 07:42

but the hygiene aspect makes sense.

Except this belief is absolutely wrong - removing the hair makes the area more vulnerable to irritation and infection. The only "hygiene" advantage it confers is helping to prevent pubic lice, so if that's an issue for you, yes, the hygiene aspect does make sense. Otherwise, it's bullshit, I'm afraid.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross agree x 100

Vulpine · 04/05/2019 07:49

What age to women stop doing this

Natasha4767 · 04/05/2019 11:00

Hi everyone thank you for the well wishes I was planning on having the wax next week at 38 weeks but when I wrote this post my Hind waters had already broken at 37 weeks exact but I thought I was just wetting my self!! In The end I had an emergency section on Thursday (I think 😂) as I have a daughter with cerebral palsy and with my last baby I had a PPH and blood transfusion.

Unfortunately little one has been a bit poorly and we are in transitional care and may be here for a little while 😩 but BF is going well!

The wax has been the last thing on my mind they didn't shave me in theatre but like I said my other half had about a week and a half before. it would of just been nice if I'd of shaved my armpits that morning 😂 again just personal preference.

If anyone has the link to the Daily mail article I'd like to have a laugh as I'm surprised something so trivial made the paper 😂😂

Little one coming early shows it's not a major issue removing hair or not and I haven't been embarrassed or uncomfortable about anyone seeing my lady area without a wax but I would of just liked one for me ❤️❤️

Hope this makes sense and not too many mistakes. Lots of love a none waxed OP 😂
Xxx
