To think I shouldn't be THIS heavy??

So to start, I know I am no supermodel. Fairly tall at 5'8, size 14, smaller waist, medium bust. Fairly curvy arse/ thighs but toned. I am fit and strong and exercise 4-5x per week, including strength training.

Now I know measurements and photos are a better gauge than the scales, and muscle is meant to weigh more than fat (but I thought that was bullshit).....I am 14.5 stone! I have a friend with the same body measurements as me and same height and she is TWO STONE lighter.
Can some people just be 'heavy'???

Thing is though, it's not a hunch - its my actual life, which is colder, harder evidence than any study you care to mention.

You can of course decide to accept your weight being in the obese range, just like I could have accepted my weight being in the anorexic range, you can decide to be happy with being overweight/obese/underweight/whatever, but that decision to personally accept that weight DOES NOT overturn any of the actual evidence that is it very bad for your health.

A lot of things are bad for your health, Kenny. You can have an excellent BMI and have abdomen full of visceral fat. Impossible? Not really, scientifically documented and ascribed a medical term - TOFI. But these are ok in your book, their weight is hunky dory! They may have pre-diabetes or worse, but that’s minor detail.

Weight is not be all and end all. You do need to look at the bigger picture here.

Straw man. Find me where Kennehora said 'visceral fat on an unhealthy untrained normal weight person is hunky dory' and I will send you £100 by bank transfer right now.

This straw man stuff is

Hmm

To think I shouldn't be THIS heavy??
FigaroSiFigaroLa · 10/05/2019 00:18

Not a strawman at all, illustrates perfectly how unreliable BMI is. Kennyhora seems to be fixated on the numbers. Life doesn’t fit numbers perfectly 100% of the time.

All the posters who came on this thread, shared their experiences and even posted their pictures, should be evidence enough. But instead we are dismissed and branded deluded. Well I am sorry I was too heavy for normal BMI even as a slim teen. If I didn’t fit in it then, I am not about to fit in it now. I am an actual real person, not some statistical average. I prefer to be guided by better, more accurate parameters than ‘weight’. Weight on its own is pretty meaningless.

Fibberty, you need to tell us your BMI. Posting a skinny picture in not enough 🙂
