I find a lot of users on here don't offer support but ridicule and make hurtful comments to other users just because they are behind a keyboard ....

There is a fine line between people's opinions and people just being rude . I am sure if half of these debates were in a physical room then half of the comments would not be made

OP posts:

I don’t agree. A lot of people offer support.

managedmis · 30/04/2019 21:26

Well yes

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 30/04/2019 21:27

I quite enjoy the occasional bunfight, but I'm also happy to provide advice, whenever I can.

VladmirsPoutine · 30/04/2019 21:29

It rather depends. If you spend most of the time on AIBU then there's always going to be a bunfight in the offing but other boards are relatively peaceful and helpful. Granted yanbu - I agree that if in an actual room there wouldn't be so much "If I were you OP I'd have slapped her"... no you fucking wouldn't bloody keyboard warrior.

gluteustothemaximus · 30/04/2019 21:30

I work on the basis that 50% of the world is narcissistic and the other half isn't.

So there's a good chance of a fair amount of cunts on the internet, as there are in RL. But most people don't know that many people in RL, so it seems the world is full of cunts on the internet Grin

Or maybe they're just offering opinions the OP doesn't agree with.

Moralitym1n1 · 30/04/2019 21:36

Also to play miss Marple and 'aha caught you out on a lie!!' and Hmm X 100.

I was forced to clarify most minor, irrelevant fact in a story once by a poster who then went into make no.l comment/contribute nothing to the thread after I clarified it and she had nothing to call out.

YouLikeTheBadOnesToo · 30/04/2019 21:37

I think it depends where you look. The AIBU board can be absolutely brutal. But there is a lot of genuine support on here to. I’ve seen some lovely threads recently, with lots of people really trying to help.

I have never and will never say anything on line that I wouldn't say in person. If I didn't have the balls to say it in person, it'd be a case of thinking what I like but not saying what I like.

aquashiv · 30/04/2019 21:46

Yes it is.

EmeraldShamrock · 30/04/2019 21:50

I am sure there are a few. I notice the goady comments are quickly pulled up on it by other posters. Lots offer great advice and support, Some are agressive when offering advise or just like to give a cheeky reply.
Overall it is ace.

WeeDangerousSpike · 30/04/2019 21:50

I don't.

I come to watch other people argue.
