After the deletion of various threads on here (you know what I'm talking about) Grin

Just wondered what is the most bonkers mumsnet thread you've ever witnessed or came across?

OP posts:
Strugglingtodomybest · 01/05/2019 15:56

There've been so many bonkers posts it's hard to decide which is my favourite, but the one I always think about when out walking my dogs, is the poster who was upset because a dog had peed on her garden wall... not inside but pavement side. It boggles my brain even now to wonder why you would care.

I agree with Bertrand too, it's the well written, witty posts that make me laugh. I love a pun or two as well.

What about the one where the friend was having a boob job and op was expected to travel and pay costs etc!
Shamed her on fb for not paying up as she lost the deposit due to not being able tor travel alone and blamed op!.

lahdeedah2019 · 01/05/2019 20:50

Naming a child slithery , that thread surely has to be a windup , some of the OPs other comments on that threat sound ridiculous to "pigeon" this has to be a joke

BagofTeeth · 01/05/2019 20:59

The one where someone wanted to take their toddler to a hen party, think it was a lodge in the middle of nowhere or something like that?

I never really got snapped and farted either, also thought it was a typo then the reactions were crazy. I think a lot of posts like this are probably much funnier for those posting as it's going on rather than those of us reading later.

There was also the one with parking where a neighbour was running a dog grooming business and letting customers park on the OP's drive as they didn't have their own drive or parking space for them, I think it ended up with the groomer actually not being registered as a business and selling the house eventually but in the schedule the estate agent mentioned that there was parking at the OP's house for whoever bought it? Hope I'm not mixing up two different parking threads there.

I do love a good zilla or CF thread but I often just scroll through all the replies to read updates from the OP. I still think of the patio doors/SpanGran one, last I heard her house was inhabitable and the neighbours and builders had both disappeared which made me so sad for her.

BlueGlassesFrames · 01/05/2019 21:50

Snapped and farted
Sistine Screamer
The tuna one
The one where the OP wanted to take some hideously expensive pram on a plane and insisted she couldn't drive a cheap pram.

Hanumantelpiece · 02/05/2019 09:02

Thanks webuilt, I have bookmarked to read later

BagofTeeth · 02/05/2019 11:45

bekindtothenewgirl · 04/05/2019 17:50

Can someone please post a link about family leaving the caravan in the middle of the night. I've tried to find it but can't.

llangennith · 04/05/2019 18:17

It was the post by arseyes that made the Hauck stroller thread so funny!

willitbe · 04/05/2019 18:20

For those saying the "cancel the cheque" thread - it is in mumsnet classics! the post wedding message thread

For me this was definitely a good one, but has to be read in full to fully appreciate how the term became a mumsnet phrase. I remember it well.

Eustasiavye · 04/05/2019 18:50

Does anyone remember the poster who was stuck on the kitchen worktop and was questioning weather she should ring her dh to come and get her down?
Her dh was at work. When posters asked why she needed her dh to leave work and why not just climb down herself, she said she needed him to reach her medication from a high cupboard.
Turned out her medication was a box of paracetamol.

IvanaPee · 04/05/2019 19:13

I remember that one!

CassandraCross · 04/05/2019 21:52

I remember that one too Eustasiavye, real helpless little woman act it was nauseating.

Another one sprung to mind about a babychino(?) from either Costa or Starbucks and the OP was doing her nut about it in a ruined my life way. Can't fully remember what the devastating non-issue was think it may have been cost or possibly sprinkles or some other such nonsense, but OP's over-reaction was epic and the pomposity pricking replies were scathing.

Userplusnumbers · 04/05/2019 22:00

There was one quite recently where the OPs ironing board(?) had gone missing - does anyone know what happened there?

It was all a bit bizarre, especially some of the suggestions - why on earth would someone access a random flat and only take the ironing board?!

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 04/05/2019 22:45

Ooh, I’ve just remembered another one about a lady who had decided to try on a new swimsuit, remembered something she had to retrieve from the attic and so shimmied up the ladder still clad in said swimsuit, only to get completely stuck and have to be rescued by the fire service, not having shaved or anything and being rather, erm, fluffy. Grin

ohhelpohnoitsa · 04/05/2019 22:51

I wonder if "slow cooked porn" went in to classics. Off to search....

ohhelpohnoitsa · 04/05/2019 23:23

Ah it IS there but the OP, like me, must have been part of the hacking as all our older threads were deleted. The comments have still made me laugh though. Not sure how to link but google mumsnet 1723462

Hanumantelpiece · 05/05/2019 09:54

Teeth I do remember the stuff grooming one, but can't quite remember what the final outcome was.

Did the missing ironing board ever get resolved?
(I'm still reading slithery - absurd!)

Hanumantelpiece · 06/05/2019 10:14

^dog grooming. I honestly don't know what is wrong with my autocorrect!

IvanaPee · 06/05/2019 10:16

Was the babychino the one about the cost of the marshmallow?

StickyBlisteredAnus · 06/05/2019 10:22

Has willy willy willy had a mention yet?

CassandraCross · 06/05/2019 10:47

I cant quite remember IvanaPee all I do remember is how outraged the OP was that whatever the 'failure' was had ruined this truly special, once in a lifetime moment of the very first babychino. It was truly off the wall.

IvanaPee · 06/05/2019 11:33

I remember too 😂 I wish I could remember the detail!

I think it was that she was being charged for a marshmallow when she hadn’t been before, but I could be mixing it up!
