After the deletion of various threads on here (you know what I'm talking about) Grin

Just wondered what is the most bonkers mumsnet thread you've ever witnessed or came across?

OP posts:
DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 29/04/2019 14:31

Pretty- I think there's one on this thread already, if you don't mind having a hunt.

notatwork · 29/04/2019 14:45

Just the thought of this MN thread makes me smile. It's short but so pithily written. Fantastic
penguin train

Panticles · 29/04/2019 14:52

I love the threads where people ask for an answer to a practical problem and everyone helps especially PigletJohn. I remember one with a small child who has accidentally locked the self in a room and one where the bobble plate fell down the back of the toilet.

I also love mysteries, especially the one where a friend was driving behind on a long straight road and then turned up ahead.

lostmydad · 29/04/2019 15:05

@Panticles
Excuse my ignorance - but what is a bobble plate - it sounds fascinating

Absolute belter 😂😂😂

IvanaPee · 29/04/2019 15:33

There’s a very long thread running at the moment that just screams creative writing (there’s a new ‘shock’ development every time the thread goes quiet)

The family saga?

Every so often:

“Oh there’s been a CONVERSATION” then disappear for a couple of hours? Tedious.

ScrambledSmegs · 29/04/2019 16:10

Bobble plate = small plate for storing child's hair bobbles/bands/clips on. I think.

LuckyLou7 · 29/04/2019 16:26

Family saga? Gissa clue Wink

IvanaPee · 29/04/2019 16:41

I don’t know if it’s the same one, Lucky. But there are wedding bells chiming...

Funniest has to be fat balls. I was crying with laughter.

Weirdest has to be the very recent one with the woman that made the visitor sit on the driveway. That is seriously unhinged behaviour.

Eliza9919 · 29/04/2019 16:51

One that gripped me for ages was the one where someone was using the woman's tumble-drier. It was in an unlocked porch. I don't think that was ever resolved was it?

Most annoying has to be that Boswell stupidity.

downcasteyes · 29/04/2019 16:57

I still think the Mexican house thief is breathtaking!

Abbazed · 29/04/2019 17:26

The foot one...

Abbazed · 29/04/2019 17:28

Tbh...How many of these threads were just people/ journalists taking the p...

GabsAlot · 29/04/2019 17:36

tbf the wedding one, the op hasnt posted since yesterday and the last update was she didnt want to confront anyone

Arrowfanatic · 29/04/2019 17:44

Christians against dinosaurs was my first foray into mumsnet & i was absolutely howling with laughter. I honestly still can't believe there are people that idiotic in the world. Grin

TheSunIsShining19 · 29/04/2019 17:44

Oh my god Boswell!!!!! Why did someone mention that, bloody reminded me again now.
That ruled my whole life for days!!

havingtochangeusernameagain · 29/04/2019 18:05

I think the most bonkers (in the sense of nasty, actually) was the one who said that the 10 year old who was killed by the dog recently at a caravan park must have been to blame in some way. I see some stupid posts on MN but that was horrible.

In terms of "I really hope they don't think that", the one who said that you have right of way/priority when joining a motorway/dual carriageway from a slip road. Not in the UK you don't.

IvanaPee · 29/04/2019 18:14

What was Boswell??

TheSunIsShining19 · 29/04/2019 18:21

You don't want to know about effing Boswell!!

You need to appreciate how lucky you were, that you missed that thread!

ScrambledSmegs · 29/04/2019 18:37

Boswell was a con. A nonsensical riddle that the OP eventually claimed to have solved, but then couldn't tell us for reasons of national security*.

  • I made that bit up because there was no reason. Just because the OP fancied messing with MN, I think.
Roussette · 29/04/2019 18:42

The ones that make me laugh are the posts from drivers about motorways who think they have every right to stick in the middle lane because 'I don't like moving lanes'

It's the time I want to back my head against the wall. Hard.

Grin
IvanaPee · 29/04/2019 18:49

Oh my god. Fucking Boswell. I remember him!

Walking up the steps to the post office or something?

TheSunIsShining19 · 29/04/2019 18:50

@whatsthecraic91 I have literally just cried my eyes out with laughter reading that!! My DH is desperate to know, what's so funny..I can't talk for laughing 😂😂😂😂

ElsieMc · 29/04/2019 19:09

Sistine Chapel screamer being comforted by other tourists.
Shitting man and the op's determination to stop him stinking out the loo.
Weird village where people ran past the op's house making weirder noises at night and hanging random baubles in the trees. The local was like something from the Wicker Man.
