Just wondered what is the most bonkers mumsnet thread you've ever witnessed or came across?

Whoever linked snapped and farted I’ve just finished and been crying with laughter. Brilliant.

I would love to read a thread and cry with laughter. I didn't understand 'snapped and farted' at all. I hid Penis Beaker about two posts in, then went back and read the whole thing and still nothing.

I must have some sort of MN gene missing.

Same sparkling. I always do the same with reddit, everyone's on about crying and not being able to breath where I have a short chortle at the very most. I feel like I must be miserable

Yes Prequelle you can join me on the miserable bench. I have a really good sense of humour too so I don't understand why I can't spit tea over my laptop or wake the cat shrieking with laughter.

I do genuinely cry with laughter regularly but I think I have quite a low laugh threshold.

I don’t get snapped and farted either. I’ve reread it in case I missed something and the only thing that raised a smile was when she said she didn’t fart AT him. I didn’t wake any babies though.

I have laughed to the point where I had tears before though, Sharon and the wine did that but mostly because of the replies

What always gets me is autocorrect stuff. Honestly nearly gave myself an injury with chaostheory’s repeat posting and subsequent frustration and comments from others.
The snapped and farted thing was funny because it was so straight and serious apart from that bit which the op hadn’t meant to be at all funny and never did despite loads of other posters tearing into it, and well you’ve read it so it’s pointless. Sometimes it’s funnier in real time

Also and more recently the one about not having any lager (spelt ‘larger’ throughout) for the MIL where the poster had ‘lamb chops for tea’.

I only read the ‘snapped and farted’ thread recently, and I don’t get the hilarity. I assumed it was a typo (though for what?), but then after 200 posts from people cracking up with laughter, the OP said brusquely that she had IBS, which just made the whole thing odder.

So, she’d intended to say that she’d snapped and farted at her (admittedly annoying-sounding) boyfriend, despite the fact that this sounded entirely out of character for a woman so self-conscious she was embarrassed her boyfriend hadn’t dressed smartly for his first martial arts lesson and was a bit helpless following the fascist instructor’s commands...?

I don’t think I quite finished the thread, so did anything crucial emerge at the end?

Glad to find some other snapped and farted haters on here. I thought it was funny when it seemed like it was a typo but then the bullshit about IBS just made it seem like an attempt at being funny that didn't land. Almost as if OP was embarrassed and doubled down rather than holding up her hands and laughing about it.

I was watching a thread about stones being moved in the night and it seems to have vanished, I presume deleted. Was that the inspiration for this thread or is it still around and I'm going crazy?

I was a bit wtf at some of the comments about the vendors of a £500k house not vacuuming and there was a rush of posters elbowing each other out of the way to say £500k won't buy a bird table where I live etc.
I am obviously at the very deprived end of MN.
