Oh god. I have way too many unpopular opinions.

  • Male circumcision, for otherwise perfectly healthy baby boys, is horrific and should only be done if medically indicated
  • Babies can all learn to sleep through the night from 12-20 weeks, there is no reason for them to be up in the night after that
  • You can successfully combination feed babies, it’s not all boob or nothing
  • Children should receive all their vaccinations on schedule and should be barred from school if they haven’t had them
  • yes the globe is warming and there is a correlation with carbon emissions but I seriously doubt if it is within our power to reverse or halt this
  • brexit should be binned
  • even though I am a lifelong Tory supporter, I do think David milliband should have been PM and none of this would have happened.
Smotheroffive · 26/04/2019 19:16

I'm not the one doing that though. I haven't resorted to telling you to fuck off have I.
[Rhetorical]

Mammylamb · 26/04/2019 19:21

Parrot, don't get wound up. I think Smother is a bit rude

OP posts:
TheFastandCurious · 26/04/2019 19:21

You started by calling me ignorant and goady. So rude. People don’t learn unless they ask questions. I’m not even asking you and you’re telling me how to respond to expletive. I’m not understanding something but I don’t even want to ask now because I’ve got you calling me ignorant and telling me not to keep asking.

Smotheroffive · 26/04/2019 19:24

That would be because you made quite the statement without any facts!

You have based your aggressive assertions on what...absolutely nothing.

..and I'm not the one telling posters to fuck off Mammy that's not the ultultimate in rude in your book! Confused

TheFastandCurious · 26/04/2019 19:26

Yes time to move on with that one Mammylamb.

Some of these aren’t ‘unpopular’ opinions though. I think most people agree circumcision is cruel unless medically necessary.,

Smotheroffive · 26/04/2019 19:26

PA all the way

TheFastandCurious · 26/04/2019 19:30

What IS your problem Smother? I haven’t made any ‘aggressive assertions’ just getting pissed off with your bizarre attacks.

Trying to move on isn’t P.A either.

Mammylamb · 26/04/2019 19:32

Parrot in some countries a high percentage of baby boys get it done. so I guess to some people it's an unpopular opino

ExpletiveDelighted · 26/04/2019 19:33

I'm ducking out now. My DCs nursery did have a separate nappy changing / toilet room BTW. Staff wore rubber gloves. They were inspected by Ofsted.

TheFastandCurious · 26/04/2019 19:34

The tattoo ones too. Most people don’t seem to like them. Which is odd as 90% of people seem to have them these days.

TheFastandCurious · 26/04/2019 19:35

Ok thanks for that Expletive. Sorry if I didn’t get that properly.

Mammylamb · 26/04/2019 20:11

Probably that 10% of the population are on mumsnet lol

Here’s one, many young people aren’t bright enough for University and only go to follow the trend.
I also think Student loans are fair and need paying off IN FULL asap.
If people want the ‘luxury/benefit’ of a degree to their name then it needs paid for.

GuineaPiglet345 · 27/04/2019 06:29

Here’s one, many young people aren’t bright enough for University and only go to follow the trend.

I 100% agree with this, I was at university with several people whose reading comprehension was so poor they frequently misunderstood what they’d been asked to do and were only there for the nightlife.

Auramigraine · 27/04/2019 07:04

Oooo I like this thread, here’s mine:

GOT- yawn. Would rather stick pins in my eyes, overhyped rubbish. Same goes for all these reality and programmes these days, love island, TOWIE, MIC (I hate how these people are becoming celebrities by doing this, and I find it a terrible example for young people these days) and no I’m not old in the tooth or anything, I’m 30.

Breast feeding is not best, it’s whatever is easiest for mum. When I had my first baby the woman opposite was being hounded by her partner to keep trying the breast feeding, when he left she was in tears and a midwife gave her a bottle for baby.

People who have 5 kids and neither parent works makes me sick, your well enough to make them!! (I speak from experience of someone local to me) I can’t help but be disgusted by the dad who walks everyday (before I’m bashed I know you can’t see all disabilities/illness if that is what he claims but how can he keep making kids?)

Attention seeking posts on Facebook, grow up!

Cyclists on the road, then when traffic lights go on red they suddenly go on the path and go across like a pedestrian then rejoin the road.annoying.

Auramigraine · 27/04/2019 07:06

Also agree with above poster about barring unvaccinated kids from schools, vaccinate your damn kids!!

motherheroic · 27/04/2019 07:56

I don't think people in the army should be thanked for their service. Going to another country, completely destabilising it and creating hundreds of thousands of refugees in the process is nothing to be thankful for.

Herland · 27/04/2019 09:40

I want a two-level dog license to introduced that forces people to go to training and awareness sessions. And I think obtaining a license should be extremely expensive. I think that all dog breeders should be licensed and controlled by an authority. Anyone who sells dogs out with this system should face a prison term.

The teenagers at my local high school should not expect local people to fund their trips to Malawi etc. It is usually the more privileged kids who do these trips. I also can't help but think that the people of Malawi deserve better schools than those built by a bunch of 17 year olds who have never even looked at trowel before.

In fact schools should not be allowed to offer any trips that cost more than £20. It is shit that state schools offer extra educational opportunities to children who's parents can afford it.

I think when you buy a ticket for a gig, festival etc you should have to upload a picture of yourself or the person who's ticket it is going to be. This photo should be printed on the ticket. If it's not your face you ain't getting in. I hate ticket touts.

I don't like ticket touts either. But on the other hand I don't agree with not being able to sell on a ticket that you can't use - I bought it, I should be able to decide what I do with it. Or not being able to buy one as a present. Your plan could work if all tickets were returnable and refundable.

On the tickets theme, not sure if this is particularly unpopular, but I dislike councils who say you have to put in your reg no when you buy a ticket for a car park. If I buy for 3 hours and end up only using one hour, why shouldn't I pass my ticket on? I don't see why the council should get paid twice for the same space.

Another cyclist one - when you overtake them, then you reach a red light. All the cars stop then the cyclist sales past everyone to the front of the que. All the cars then have to struggle to get past the same bike again.

Mysterian · 27/04/2019 12:07

I think Smotheroffive and ParrotWithACarrot are secretly in love with each other.

And parents of children should be banned from giving them a hair cut unless properly trained.

Brightburn · 28/04/2019 01:11

It isn't a man's fault if his partner (who he trusts) falls pregnant whilst taking the pill because they forgot to take it/messed it up.

I hate it when posters say 'well he should have used a condom too or not had sex if he doesn't want children'.

I also don't believe that women fall pregnant so easily on the pill as what they claim on MN. Almost everyone on here who has an accidental pregnancy claims the pill failed. I don't believe half of them.

AhoyDelBoy · 28/04/2019 02:37

@CaptainButtock

New Zealand is a shitehole of epic proportions, populated largely by backwards, red-necked racists who hate the indigenous people whose country they have stolen and fucked up.

Do you mean Australia?

OkPedro · 28/04/2019 03:50

brightburn I almost agree with you 😀
I think contraception is both the man and woman’s responsibility. For a lot of men they don’t care because it’s the woman who becomes pregnant and not them. FWIW I got pregnant when I had the coil
