For things that are agreed as gospel on MN

I'll start: I like dressing my kids in matching outfits and I really enjoy a Butlins holiday

I also don't think Nevaeh is that bad

OP posts:
Drogosnextwife · 23/04/2019 19:06

Has made, by 12 and 11, not a fuck of difference to development, health or education.

Exactly my point, and people who go on about how fucking superior breastfeeding is are are not helping anyone.

HarryElephante · 23/04/2019 19:08

People say it because it gives them one tiny pathetic thing to feel superior about

Miaow.

dustarr73 · 23/04/2019 19:11

Kids shouldnt have to give up their seat for adults.
Mentioning someones age doesnt make me ageist.I give the age for context.

Mrsmummy90 · 23/04/2019 19:11

I like baby showers and gender reveals 🤷‍♀️

BeanBag7 · 23/04/2019 19:12

I can't stand books like "Why Mummy Drinks" or "Hurrah for Gin". Patronising and not funny and makes me wonder why these people have children just to complain about them.

Similarly I dont understand people putting their kids in childcare they dont need. E.g. working 3 days a week but kid in nursery for 5. If you need the childcare to keep your career/income that's fair enough but otherwise it just seems lazy and like you dont want to look after your own kids

SuperCoop3r · 23/04/2019 19:13

@CalmDownPacino spot on. Just hideous view points spewed by hideous people. Makes you feel a bit grubby for reading it so time to click 'hide thread' I think

Drogosnextwife · 23/04/2019 19:14

And do you agree with that drogo?

I agree they don't need it, but if they want a bottle at a year old why not? A child of 4 with a bottle of milk however, that is as weird as breastfeeding at age 4.

Totally agree and will add, I believe if there are two parents one should be at home for the kids after school and dropping off in the morning.
Not popular at all. Grin

Just because someone cheats on their partner it doesn't mean that they will cheat on ALL future partners.

Sagradafamiliar · 23/04/2019 19:23

I couldn't be arsed to BF my youngest, didn't even consider it and am 100% happy with my choice.

PanBasher · 23/04/2019 19:26

Any adult who abuse children in any way should be forcibly sterilised ........without anaesthetic!

The NHS shouldn't fund sex change operations or IVF

Children should not be allowed or encouraged to change their sex.

PanBasher · 23/04/2019 19:29

I love being referred to as Mrs Husband's name and our children also have his surname.

I loved my late MIL and I enjoyed her company.

SleepingStandingUp · 23/04/2019 19:30

It's fine to have the pushchair open on the bus rather than balancing the kids and shopping all within a single seat. It's also OK to park it in the wheelchair space assuming it isn't needed by a person in a wheelchair

PanBasher · 23/04/2019 19:33

Mother's should have some modesty and cover up while breastfeeding. They should also stop thinking that they can just flop them out everywhere and anywhere.

lalafafa · 23/04/2019 19:34

I've never seen a healthy looking veggie/vegan kid
Tattoos look awful on women
I'll judge you if your kid is fat
Putting your baby in Nursery from a couple of months old is dreadful, can't afford them, don have them
Dogs shouldn't be around babies
100,000 in central London is fuck all
Camping is shit

Desmondo2016 · 23/04/2019 19:36

I would rather my son hadn't told me he was gay :(

CoolCatKat · 23/04/2019 19:37

Wearing high heels makes you look stupid.
Grin Yes!!!

Monestasi · 23/04/2019 19:38

These threads are always just an excuse to spew bile. They make for awful reading. Makes you realise just how many thoroughly awful people there are around

I am quite surprised by some of the comments. I read out of curiosity, and found the humour, and spirit of some.

But I suspect it was started in bad faith, propped up by equally spite seeking souls.

I BF my own children. But the comments over breastfeeding superiority here shocked me.

This is one of the reasons I find this thread venomous.

Mumsnet needs to change its name.

mbosnz · 23/04/2019 19:39

Desmondo, would you rather he hadn't told you he was gay, or that you would rather he wasn't gay?

CoolCatKat · 23/04/2019 19:39

Really enjoying this uncensored insight into peoples' opinions. Very interesting!!

TheFastandCurious · 23/04/2019 19:40

Also frozen sandwiches

What??? For the love of god WHAT?? Frozen sandwiches? That is the work of the devil!!!!

minionsrule · 23/04/2019 19:41

Work colleagues who come in late, skive off early with excuses and don't work to the agreed 35 hours of the company that we all have to do, do affect me. Even if their lack of work does not impact me directly it does affect me and i am allowed to be pissed off at the blatant piss taking.

KissingInTheRain · 23/04/2019 19:42

This thread will now get to 1000 posts by the time Eastenders is over.

TheFastandCurious · 23/04/2019 19:45

I love this thread because I’ve stopped reading every post that looks like it’s going to be nasty and focussed on the funny ones that are in good spirit.

And I’ve learned a few things. I’ve been wondering how to look less ‘mumsy’ and glam up a bit and considered high heels. But the general consensus is they look ridiculous. So I’ll get back in my box with that one Grin

Bearbehind · 23/04/2019 19:46

I’ve found it interesting that the posts which mention supporting leaving the EU have contained some pretty dreadful other comments.

I’d love to know the actual correlation between the more outrageously bigoted / narrow minded comments and Leave voters.
