Posting here for traffic but have had huge fire in back garden this afternoon.
Sheds, tools, fence panels all gone as well as damage to neighbouring property.
Now probably responsible for several neighbours damage as fire brigade have said fire started in my garden.

Sooooo how do you think it started? Because I have no idea.

Tevion10 · 21/04/2019 23:45

Neighbours seem to think Dh must have been burning something but he wasn't it's a mystery.

Do you have children?

Iltavilli · 21/04/2019 23:46

Any glass in the garden which could have set things off? Usually the fire brigade would give an indication

HirplesWithHaggis · 21/04/2019 23:46

Assuming you've eliminated causes such as unattended bbq, chucked away fag ends etc, could there have been a shard of glass concentrating the sun, maybe on dry vegetation?

bridgetreilly · 21/04/2019 23:46

I'm not sure why you think people on the internet are likely to know.

Nicknacky · 21/04/2019 23:46

Why would they think it was your dh and not you?

Where in the garden did it start?

Tevion10 · 21/04/2019 23:46

Always one on here lately.

OP posts:
Stroller15 · 21/04/2019 23:46

Could it be a mirror or reflective surface?

PickAChew · 21/04/2019 23:46

Is your garden open to others at the back? Maybe someone threw something over the fence?

Tevion10 · 21/04/2019 23:47

No children involved

OP posts:
Nicknacky · 21/04/2019 23:47

Always one what?

Tevion10 · 21/04/2019 23:48

Mentioned that to firemen about a reflective surface but fireman said no

OP posts:
Nicknacky · 21/04/2019 23:49

So what did the fire service suggest about the cause?

Tevion10 · 21/04/2019 23:49

At back of garden and yes surrounded by houses so possible somebody threw something

Binglebong · 21/04/2019 23:50

Power tools where the battery has gone wrong? Is there glass in the shed window - focused light is a common one. Or as suggested someone's discarded fag end.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 21/04/2019 23:50

Didn’t you say on another thread it was your neighbour throwing a cigarette away that started it?

FaithInfinity · 21/04/2019 23:51

Has the fire investigation offer been found yet? When we had a fire they sent one within a couple of hours and he was able to work out what started it.

Tevion10 · 21/04/2019 23:51

Well they tried to push Dh into saying he was burning something but he most deffo wasn't they haven't given a cause just said it started in our garden.
I was working so not there.

Give her a break, shes had a bit of a rattle.

Nicknacky · 21/04/2019 23:52

In my area there won’t be a fire investigation unless there is serious injury, major damage or death.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 21/04/2019 23:52

The fire brigade usually have an answer as to the cause of the fire. Have they given you no indication at all. Where in the garden did it start?

Honeyroar · 21/04/2019 23:52

Do you have any linseed oil or other oily wood treatments in your shed that are half used? I knew someone who’s shed set alight because it combusted.

Tevion10 · 21/04/2019 23:53

Neighbour at back is always out smoking but can't prove anything

OP posts:
Nicknacky · 21/04/2019 23:54

Does he usually throw fag butts into your garden?
