I want to hear about your good or bad encounters with a celebrity/famous person please! In the late nineties I met the chef Ainsley Harriot at a London train station when I was cueing to buy a ticket! I was very excited about this and told him I loved the show Ready Steady Cook which he was on at the time, he was really nice and chatty but I didn't get his autograph though! More recently about 2 years ago Ray Winston was sitting at the table beside us in a Chinese restaurant but we didn't get to speak as he was engrossed in conversation. I nearly forgot Todd Carty aka Mark from East Enders used to use our local newsagent in the morning on way to Elstree again in the nineties, he was always very smiley and drove a little MG!

David guest bumped into me on oxford street, he apologised and then asked my opinion on the building we were next too. He was really sweet.
I’ve met Austin Nichols as walker stalker he was such a genuinely nice guy, spoke to me longer than anyone else.
I also saw Andrew Lincoln who passed me on the stairs at walker stalker and said hello.
Met Christopher Ellison outside my work, he was trying to get past some students and they wernt budging so moved over forcing them to move and he slipped past saying thanks love.
Met razor ruddock in Florida Disneyland, tripped over a bench on the way over to him, had a bit of banter, he was really nice actually.
Served Preston from ordinary boys at work.
Dom wood (from dick and Dom) and John tickle came to my house as my mum was on an episode of brainiac test tube baby, had a cozy little chat before I went to work. Met Trojan and lightning from gladiators. Have pictures somewhere.
Met patsy Palmer, turned out we parked outside her house when I was at a midwife appointment, when we came back she was saying bye to a friend and asked us how we were and congratulations ( I was 6 months Pregnant at the time)

Mine range from the sublime to the ridiculous (or more accurately, the ridiculous to the sublime).
So, was asked out to dinner by Todd Carty (Tucker from Grange Hill/Mark from EastEnders), but was too embarrassed to say yes.
Lemmy once grabbed and snogged me as I passed him in a London rock club. Nowadays, I'd have twatted him; as a 17-year-old, I just stumbled off wiping my gob.
Spent a great deal of time with Mark Owen, who was proper lovely even if he did smell fustier than my great gran's knicker drawer (it was during Take That's hiatus).
The Gallagher brothers (terrifying); Tim Burgess from The Charlatans (asked me out - I clearly hadn't learnt much from my Todd Carty days because once again I said no) and various other early '90s bands.
Lot of Hollywood stars at press junkets when they were promoting films, including Hugh Jackman, Samuel L. Jackson, Meg Ryan, Hugh Grant, Sandra Bullock, and Jim Carrey, who was absolutely bloody terrifying: he came across as having none of the usual behavioural restraints regular human beings have.
And finally, Kurt Cobain, who I hung out with backstage at a couple of early Nirvana gigs. He was... glum, but this was before his physical ailments and mental health issues were widely known.

FirstDateHelpForOldie · 23/04/2019 22:45

Philip Schofield I don't get the surprise of the rumours he is horrid.
He comes across as snobby and looks down on people who are on the show and can be condescending to certain guests if it fits ITV agenda to provoke a discussion. He plays the tough interviewer whilst Holly cries or nods her head.
He only seems less snobby when he is laughing/fawning over Holly with their stupid innuendos.

Holly is a master actress if the rumours are true as she comes across much nicer and as someone you could approach and say hi to but obviously not after reading on here

Fatpigeon21 · 23/04/2019 22:47

Jo Montana (old American Football player) doing a bungee jump in NZ (he was shit scared)
Russell Crowe regularly used the pool where I lifeguarded in Australia- he struck up a conversation with my boyfriend who had no idea he was talking to Russell Crowe until I told him)!

I have shared a jacuzzi with the wrestler Big Daddy and a sauna with Gregg Wallace. Both only stayed a couple of minutes.

justasking111 · 23/04/2019 23:19

On holiday in Portugal OH went for a wonder around the pool, was deep in conversation with a lady for quite a time. Came back and said he had met a very interesting woman. Bumped into her again in the airport queue. She was with her extended family a birthday celebration. It was Edwina Currie grin daft beggar had only seen her on tv a gazillion times.

twitchticklingproblem · 23/04/2019 23:19

Really not proud of it but in my teens snogged Gazza (the Geordie footballer). He was in a nightclub in Newcastle, asked for my number, refused to give it but snogged him yak!

winniestone37 · 23/04/2019 23:22

justasking111 · 23/04/2019 23:24

A couple of friends work on super yachts, they meet very famous people another friend is a pilot on private jets. What is nice is that they don`t gossip about any of their passengers.

justasking111 · 23/04/2019 23:25

@AlexaAmbidextra My DH also met Bill Clinton, after he was US president. He came into a pub where my DH was having a drink with a friend and even though he was there for only about 10 mins he spoke to everyone and when he left remembered peoples names. My DH says he was the most charismatic person he's ever met. Warm and charming.

Catofaragon. I met him at a golf complex hotel. I didn’t approach him, he still had a lot of security, but I was on my own waiting for a friend and he came over to talk to me. I was so overwhelmed by his charm I really can’t remember a thing he said or what I said in return. I do remember being weak at the knees for the rest of the day though. He was amazing. I’d probably have done a Monica had he asked me. 😂

Hearhere · 23/04/2019 23:49

@Winnie, oh please you have to give us at least a clue 🙏
Throw us a bone
is she an actress or singer?

Suzypoo10 · 23/04/2019 23:51

Kate Bush - before she was famous. I went to the same school as her (she was two years above me).
Glenda Jackson - she was looking at knickers in M&S in Woolwich. She said something to me, but I was so star-struck I was unable to respond.
Patsy Palmer sat behind me on a flight to Paris and didn’t stop talking for the whole journey; she did speak to my son who was around two at the time.
Anthony Andrews - he is married to the heiress of a once-famous department store in Piccadilly (now Waterstones) where I used to work. He was very nice; I expected him to be blond, but his hair was quite dark!

Easterbunnyhashoppedoff · 23/04/2019 23:56

Suzy - wow, unbelievable!!
Just remembered I met Roger Hargreaves as a dc (Mr Men!).

CamillafromCobham · 23/04/2019 23:56

William and Kate, regularly, on the school run. Both lovely.
Brian Adams, regularly, on the school run. Perfectly nice.

CamillafromCobham · 23/04/2019 23:56

Bryan Adams even.

DoctorDread · 24/04/2019 00:02

Ooh yes. Jo brand last year. Very lovely but got the impression she'd rather have been at home with a lovely cup of tea, whilst reading a good book and slobbing out on the sofa (who wouldn't?)

Bouncingbelle · 24/04/2019 00:11

Jo brand - v nice & tolerant of drunken student me & friends!
Evan Dando - quiet, unassuming, lovely guy who makes an effort for his fans.

Cbatothinkofaname · 24/04/2019 00:12

What on Earth is the point of anyone coming on this thread to tell us they’ve fucked a celebrity but won’t say who?! Utterly pointless!

Serenity45 · 24/04/2019 00:13

@fluffycloudland77

No, I'm a South Birmingham girl Smile

GunpowderGelatine · 24/04/2019 00:22

Lol at Amanda Holden being married to Jim Davidson. Now that's a marriage I'd love to be a fly on the wall for!

Pensy · 24/04/2019 00:27

Went to lunch at a well known West Country, country club just after Christmas and saw Viscount & Viscountess Weymouth, Claudia Winkleman, Matt Smith, Richard Bacon, Giles Coren and Nicholas Cage all having lunch there. Once shared a lift with Bono at Hotel de Paris, Monaco
