My first CF thread 😱

Hi all!

I've read lots about cfers on here but now I think I actually have one?! Or maybe the heat and being 7 months pregnant is making me go mad ....

Anyway! Just had garden done last weekend so I'm enjoying it lots now it's hot :-) ddog is also enjoying the new sprinkler! Today we planned on having a bbq at about 3/4 with some family members coming round. Dh was just outside setting it all up (getting bbq out cleaning it etc).

Ndn (who I know enough to say hi to/take parcels in but that's about it) has just messaged me on fb to ask if we are having a bbq. I assumed she was asking because of washing or something so I said yes at about 3. She then replied asking if she could use it too as there garden is a state and they have no bbq? I said they were welcome to join us if she liked (they have always seemed nice and I'm up for making new friends!). Anyway she didn't respond at first but now she's messaged saying no thank you they are going to an Easter egg hunt later but if they could use it before they go at about 2 that would be great????

What on Earth?! I've just replied saying I don't think that will work for us (fave mumsnet phrase!) 😂 but Aibu to think she's a cf? Or am I just not being neighbourly?

Some of us have a gift for doing things like falling out of skylights, even if we are strapped into a safety seat downstairs at the time.

I haven't actually managed this yet myself, but it's on my bucket list* and I will probably acheive it if my track record for stupid accidents is anything to go by.

*wwill possibly be the very last thing on my bucket list . . . .

@SchadenfreudePersonified I imagine if I had fallen off the roof then that would have ended the bbq debate as it's directly below....frankly there is nothing like a splattered heavily pregnant woman to put you off your lunch 😛

If you had fallen out the skylight at least it would of freed up the bbq for the cheeky f**ker next door! 😂

I have been enjoying (genuinely) the aroma of various BBQs around me, but without the hassle of actually having to do all the cooking and cleaning.

Now I feel inspired to pop round and ask the BBQers if they can just pop theirs on an hour early so I can get my dinner cooked without any hassle.

I can't quite believe they've invited themselves for tomorrow instead of inviting you over, that's brilliant! Wow. I probably would have just let them come tomorrow though, I'd be unable to resist.

Don't really know what to say to that 😂 I'd rather know if they are coming or not because we have about 6 family members coming over so I don't want to run out of food.... 😳😳😳

@MRex tbf there garden is basically an allotment so no where to sit etc :-/ maybe that's why they want to use ours haha

Ah go on, say "sure, pop in for a drink if you're around before 8"... It is nice to be neighbourly, even with CFs.

I tend to career for 40 when 10 are coming, running out is never an issue in our house.

By the way, please don't stand on the bench again while heavily pregnant, you don't want to risk a fall as it's easy to twist something. I managed to twist my pelvis cleaning the shower stupidly just before having DS, ridiculous but painful.
