I'm fairly sure my engagement ring has been delivered in the post today... it's an unbranded box but it's got a postal label on it with "antique diamond ring" and some value details on it.

DP was doing the gardening so I signed for it and have put it in the hallway as I normally would. He doesn't seem to have noticed the label. Do I say something?

Ahhh this is so exciting! My fiance asked me before we boarded our flight to Thailand if the airport scanners go off for jewellery. He never wears it and wouldn't think to ask about mine. I still didn't even twig what he was gonna do ❤️💍

This seems odd, that a parcel would state the contents and value on the outside? Upping the odds of the parcel disappearing in the post.

Not at all romantic, he burst into the bathroom dying for a wee while our preschooler was on the loo downstairs and was mid stream when he said " I suppose this is it, we do everything together now. Better get married ey, bitch queen?". I replied. "ok. but you are never ever allowed to shit in here while im the bath. Now get out". The ROMANCE....to be fair though I still love him but we did move to a house with separate loo and bathroom!

That sounds like a customs label, standard if it has come from overseas. Or potentially also for postal insurance as well.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to not let on that I knew! My DP (or should I say DF!) is not as subtle as he'd like to think so I'd cottoned on to the fact that he was planning on proposing. He dragged it out a good few months (!) but in the end I knew when he was going to do it. I even found the bag the ring was in and took a sneaky peek at the paperwork and looked the ring up online (somehow didn't feel right looking at the actual ring) as I wanted to be able to prepare myself for possibly not liking it!

Turns out he had actually been listening to me when we'd talked about it in the past, so I was very happy with his choice. And it fitted!

I've not let on that I knew about it in advance and in fact you are the first people I've "told"! It's a "secret" I'll probably take to the grave as it would spoil it for him if he knew.

Please come back OP and tell us how he does it in the end!
