I don't tell him that I know, right?

I'm fairly sure my engagement ring has been delivered in the post today... it's an unbranded box but it's got a postal label on it with "antique diamond ring" and some value details on it.

DP was doing the gardening so I signed for it and have put it in the hallway as I normally would. He doesn't seem to have noticed the label. Do I say something?

(I'm fairly sure it's for me Grin)

And for the sake of being thorough, switched to classic on my mobile, tap on the post... there it is again.

I don't tell him that I know, right?
Daisypie · 15/05/2019 08:47

Come on OP's DP.

Citygirl2019 · 15/05/2019 08:50

Ah this is lovely. I hope the engagement goes as planned for him and you are both happy x

Innersmellbow · 15/05/2019 08:56

Not sure which is more exciting!

Patiently waiting for OP's romantic update or...

placemarking wars. Confused

LillithsFamiliar · 15/05/2019 09:04

the placemarking explanations are just . . . placemarking with attitude

TheGrassIsSeveralShadesOfBlue · 15/05/2019 09:13

Angelo one of the reasons I post on a thread instead of just watch certain threads is because if they are deleted, you see the deletion message. On watched threads it just disappears from your list - hence the eight million "what happened to the poster who...." threads.

Which probably also annoy you. Why don't you take your grumpiness elsewhere instead of bringing down a lovely happy thread? Fuck sake, there's always one!

TheGrassIsSeveralShadesOfBlue · 15/05/2019 09:15

Although it does make me eyeroll a little when people just write "placemarking", I think it's more courteous to write a proper comment. I wouldn't moan about this unprompted on an otherwise nice thread just for the sake of it though. I'd worry people would think I was a grumpy curmudgeonly knob Grin

bababalooba · 15/05/2019 09:17

This happened to my aunt. My uncle still doesn't know that she knew about his looming proposal! Literally exactly the same thing. She signed for the ring. Best of luck OP. What a wonderful thread.

Sundaychiller · 15/05/2019 09:20

Good luck, we need a photo of the ring!

MsMarvellous · 15/05/2019 09:42

@AngeloMysterioso you're a serial complainer then. I'm on the GoT thread too.

SoupDragon · 15/05/2019 09:45

Literally all I had to do was hover my mouse over your post and the word "Bookmark" popped up in the corner. Crazy!!

Your iPad has mouse? Wow! Mine doesn't.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 15/05/2019 09:58

Ahahahahah - nope.
No bookmark, no 3 dots. Just doesn't happen.
But no doubt you'll refuse to believe that because you've "switched to classic" - it's not the same. Some of us have never switched out of classic because we ran the risk of losing other functions.

TheGrassIsSeveralShadesOfBlue · 15/05/2019 10:33

"I am a link and I am a link you have visited" Grin

I use the iPhone app these days as I'm always on my phone, usually in bed but hate myself for it. Still have Classic style on my PC though.

S1naidSucks · 15/05/2019 10:43

I completely agree AngeloMysterioso, as I’ve said earlier.

Still not place marking 😇

Grin
SoupDragon · 15/05/2019 10:55

As an aside, I thought that once you switched out of Classic it was gone. I thought they removed it as an option but you could keep it if you were using it.

SillyMoomin · 15/05/2019 10:59

TheGrassIsSeveralShadesOfBlue

Actually that used to be the case, but MNHQ changed it about a year or so ago that watched threads now get the deletion message too

Anyway.... back to waiting for OP

And no. This isn’t a placemark. I use bookmark and watch thread

LillithsFamiliar · 15/05/2019 11:00

Soup yy that was my understanding too.

Zeusthemoose · 15/05/2019 11:24

AngeloMysterioso
This thread was lovely before you bought your grumpiness along.

NunoGoncalves · 15/05/2019 11:28

This is the second thread I've read today that has been derailed by AngeloMysterioso telling people what they can and can't post in a thread.

Leave it be, Angelo. You don't need to tell people what to post. Just relax a little.

Has the OPs DP popped the question yet?

Innersmellbow · 15/05/2019 11:55

Zeusthemoose This thread was lovely before you bought your grumpiness along.

But nothing is happening........

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 15/05/2019 11:55

That was also my understanding, Soupy - never changed away from it just in case.

FreshAprilStart · 15/05/2019 11:58

Ooohhh the waiting....

MashedSpud · 15/05/2019 12:03

I hope he doesn’t wait until the last day of the holiday.
