I'm a model (signed with 2 pretty big agencies in London) and have 2/3 jobs each month usually. Started age 18.
Go on castings constantly though which gets tiresome.
Haven't worked for any designer brands yet but a fair few beauty/makeup jobs and swimwear/lingerie.

I'm also a student studying natural sciences at a university in London in my 2nd year.Smile

I will be looking for a job relating to my degree after graduation but if my modelling picks up more before then I'll definitely dedicate full time to that after graduating.

(I'm 20 years old for reference)

Ooh and do you travel with your job? I've been to America quite a few times and Japan!

I’m a teacher- I love it but pretty boring compared to yours!

heatwave2019 · 20/04/2019 16:21

@BelulahBlanca I looked into teaching as I also wanted to teach the sciences, maybe in secondary school? But I was put off by all the bad things about itGrin

So glad you enjoy it though! Must be really rewarding.Smile

Potato sexer.

bloodywhitecat · 20/04/2019 16:26

Nowhere near as glamorous but I am a Specialist Nursery Nurse looking after children who are life limited with the most complex medical needs, we go into the family home to provide support so the rest of the family can do what the rest of us take for granted i.e sleep. Most of our kids have complex epilepsy and require some form of non invasive ventilation so even sleeping requires eyes on the child at all times, their siblings lives are often on hold so we give them some respite.

About to give it all up to foster I want to specialize in drug withdrawing babies and children with complex needs

heatwave2019 · 20/04/2019 16:27

@FlibbertyGiblets how many years of training was that? Wink

OP posts:
FlibbertyGiblets · 20/04/2019 16:28

Many.

heatwave2019 · 20/04/2019 16:29

@BelulahBlanca I do quite like the idea of teaching later in life.

It's great to visit new countries (and have it all paid for!!) as I never would have been able to visit those places otherwise. It's tiring though keeping up with lectures and studying.

heatwave2019 · 20/04/2019 16:30

@bloodywhitecat WOW. You sound like such a lovely person, you must be incredibly selfless.

I actually have epilepsy! Diagnosed as a child, thankfully mine is fine with medicine.

You could do what I did after my degree and do a CELTA course which enables you to travel and teach. I lived in the Middle East, Tokyo, Greece........ and still teach it now here.

I work for a cruise line, been in the travel industry since having DS so 6 years. I travel a lot with work which is exhausting, but I certainly don’t complain as I’ve been lucky enough to visit some amazing places Smile

bloodywhitecat · 20/04/2019 16:42

I'm not @heatwave2019 but I did have a baby sister with hydrocephalus, sadly she died aged 3 and back in those days the understanding around brain injuries was awful. She was perceived to have little understanding of pain so a lot of her care was poor and as siblings, our lives were deeply affected too. I wanted to make a difference so I do what I do.

Zoobedoo · 20/04/2019 16:44

I work in a zoo!

SimonJT · 20/04/2019 16:44

I’m an actuary, it doesn’t sound very exciting to other people but I enjoy it and the hours are fairly flexible.

bloodywhitecat · 20/04/2019 16:48

@Zoobedoo What animals do you look after? My youngest is a falconer, he's just started a new post and will now be looking after meerkats, skunks and raccoons too. He also loves reptiles, snakes and every bug known to mankind.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 20/04/2019 16:49

I'm a dinner lady and love it,I'm younger than the stereotype. Most people think it's all blue rinses.

AvengersAssemble · 20/04/2019 16:49

I am a Nurse and love it, but am thinking of retraining as a Paramedic which I similar to what I do anyway!

AvengersAssemble · 20/04/2019 16:49

@FlibbertyGiblets 😂😂😂😂

ElspethFlashman · 20/04/2019 16:51

Nurse. Very very interesting job.

Lots of cancer though, which can be very sad. I had a big ugly cry over a patient just last week, after the kids had gone to bed.
