I'm a model (signed with 2 pretty big agencies in London) and have 2/3 jobs each month usually. Started age 18.
Go on castings constantly though which gets tiresome.
Haven't worked for any designer brands yet but a fair few beauty/makeup jobs and swimwear/lingerie.

I'm also a student studying natural sciences at a university in London in my 2nd year.Smile

I will be looking for a job relating to my degree after graduation but if my modelling picks up more before then I'll definitely dedicate full time to that after graduating.

(I'm 20 years old for reference)

I'm the director for emergency planning for a City. So response, recovery and business continuity plans. Risk assessments, training and exercises I get to do the lot. Each plan (hundreds of them) is like my baby from start to finish and includes how we will work with emergency services. And yes it does include the big incidents, think MEN bombing and Grenfell. Love love love it. Every day is different. Although no where near as glamorous as yours OP.

AvengersAssemble · 20/04/2019 16:54

@ElspethFlashman I work in ED and unfortunately see some horrific things but I rarely get upset over it, however it's the children and baby's that I can always remember and they are the jobs I do not like.Confused

Wanderer1 · 20/04/2019 16:56

I work in Antarctica. I love working somewhere so remote and spending time in a place I’d be unable to visit if I didn’t work here but it’s difficult not to be able to get back to my friends and family when they need me.

TravellingSpoon · 20/04/2019 16:57

LD Support worker in a challenging behaviour service. Its difficult and stressful and you have to watch your back all the time, but its a fabulous job.

MidnightBlue00 · 20/04/2019 16:59

Sounds like you have your head screwed on op.Smashing, well done.
I flog kids clothes.Got a few little shops.Pays the bills

ElspethFlashman · 20/04/2019 17:02

I've done a fair bit of ED in the past with agency work and thank god never had to be in Resus when kids were in there. I couldn't hack kids, I really couldn't.

The cancer I see is pleural, which has very poor outcomes. That's the hardest part. It's hard to keep your glass half full.

4040vision · 20/04/2019 17:16

I'm a radio presenter. But it's not really a well paid career unless you're on a big station.

So I also work in internal communications.

Perks are meeting and interviewing bands and getting free tickets for festivals and gigs.

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 20/04/2019 17:29

Solicitor. I'd like to retrain as s children's nurse or midwife, but no chance now that the training bursaries are gone. It shall remain a pie in the sky dream! I shall continue in law until I retire then do something 'helpful to others' just to keep me occupied.

heatwave2019 · 20/04/2019 17:35

@MidnightBlue00 thank you Smile oooh that sounds interesting, where do you get the clothes from? Is it a business?

OP posts:
heatwave2019 · 20/04/2019 17:36

@Namechangeymcnamechange11 could you maybe save to retrain? Solicitors earn quite a decent amount I thought?

Don't give up!

I work as a manager in corporate banking, looking after businesses which are headquartered in the UK (but many have a global presence). Most are large household names with significant borrowing requirements (£75m or more). It’s my job to help lend them money and look after their other banking requirements.

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 20/04/2019 17:44

I’m a management consultant with one of the big international consulting firms. LOTS of travel if you want it! Now that I have kids I try to take assignments closer to home when possible, but my first 3 years a travelled Mon-Thurs almost every week. Canada, US, Chile, Italy, France... also had offers to go to Australia, Papua New Guinea and South Africa, but turned those down!

MsChicken · 20/04/2019 17:55

Multi-skilled self-employed. Basically I've hoarded everything I've ever learnt to do and still do them all. Everything from data entry to writing to retail to TV production to catering. It works for me, as do I. There was never a plan.

iamH · 20/04/2019 18:04

I'm a chef

It's not fun in this weather 😀

jenthelibrarian · 20/04/2019 18:04

Bit obvs, really!

But I have always worked in industry and academic/special libraries so have no idea what the waiting list's like for the latest by a popular author, or why your fines are so steep Grin

Mintypea5 · 20/04/2019 18:13

I'm an executive assistant for someone high ranking in the military's and government. Don't travel much anymore as have kids but used to go on lots it trips abroad. Have done cover work in the diary room at number 10 for down experience in my youth

weegiemum · 20/04/2019 18:13

I teach basic skills (literacy and numeracy) to mainly young mums, and English as a second language mainly to refugee women in my community. I was previously a secondary teacher. I'm disabled and do this work for 2 charities, and don't get paid much, but I love it!

babbi · 20/04/2019 18:13

I am a manager for a drinks company ... I manage the team who design the packaging for whisky 🥃 gin vodka etc and also manage the procurement of all the bits that go into the pack ...

My life is knee deep in alcohol 😂

CaravanHero · 20/04/2019 18:14

I’m a manager in Corporate Banking, dealing exclusively with complaints.

I deal with everything that goes wrong with the banks biggest clients - often re-writing massive loans and dealing with massive international payments and fx deals gone wrong - and issuing a fuck tonne of compensation every day. I also liaise a lot with the Financial Ombudsman for the smaller businesses that refer on to them.

Really enjoy my job 😊

HappyMama01 · 20/04/2019 18:32

Human Resources co-ordinator - bloody love it!

TheFatberg · 20/04/2019 18:45

I'm someone who overdiscloses on the internet because I can't resist a chance to talk about myself.

Zoobedoo · 20/04/2019 18:45

@bloodywhitecat I love reptiles! Actually I don't work directly with the zoo animals at all, I work on all the zoo's external conservation projects around the world. I'm based at the zoo though, which my dd loves.

Zoobedoo · 20/04/2019 18:45

Fatberg Grin

Pugworld · 20/04/2019 18:48

I'm a door supervisor in a nightclub. I basically prevent drunk people from harming themselves and each other. It's entertaining.
