That laden table for one toddler makes me feel ill for him / her what a load of junk

MinnieMountain · 20/04/2019 07:07

4- from us, DM, FIL and old neighbour.
He's very excited about the giant Kinder Surprise egg he chose.

BeanBag7 · 20/04/2019 07:13

DD has just turned 2. We haven't got her anything chocolate - just a little wind up chick and a sticker book.
However she has already been given 4 eggs by great grandparents and great aunts. She will probably get some for her aunts and uncles when we see them on Sunday and a load from grandparents in an egg hunt.
I dont mean to sound ungrateful but I would really prefer that they didn't buy her chocolate eggs but it seems to be unreasonable to ask for money or alternative presents at Easter (although thats fine at Christmas Confused).

Teddybear080818 · 20/04/2019 07:14

None Blush

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 20/04/2019 07:14

I don’t buy my children’s eggs, as we buy them something ds1 has a new tracksuit and trainers and ds2 wanted a light up keyboard for his PC.

In all honestly the boys will likely to receive a shameful amount of eggs each, I have 22 eggs currently to give them (Family members dropping them off) and they will likely to receive probably twice as much as that on Sunday.

Yogagirl123 · 20/04/2019 07:17

My DS’ are17 & 16, they have 3 each large, medium & small egg, nagging the hell out of me to have them now, no they are waiting for Sunday. At they ages you would think they would have more patience!

RandomUsernameHere · 20/04/2019 07:20

3 large ones each (1 from me and DH, 1 from my parents and 1 from his). Lots of small ones from the Easter bunny and various other places.

Thepacksurvives · 20/04/2019 07:23

Mine get one "medium" egg each (one egg and packet of buttons), packet of 8 milky bar hunt eggs between them and I bought some plastic eggs I've put a couple of little present inside - from me

About 5 more each from relative

They'll last absolutely ages. Before Christmas I binned a few left over hunt ones from last year 😂

SoyDora · 20/04/2019 07:23

Mine are 5 and 3. They’ll get one from us, and one from my grandmother. My mum has bought them an Easter craft kit instead of chocolate, and my dad bought them an outfit.
However so many places we’ve been over the past few weeks have done an egg hunt (toddler groups, farms etc that we’ve been to over the holidays) that we’re completely inundated with small chocolate eggs. We must have about 100. There’ll get given out over the next few months!

Chilver · 20/04/2019 07:24

2: one large and one medium from myself and DH and then the Easter Egg Hunt little ones.

However, someone in my family doesnt feel thats enough Shock so has bought at least another 6!!!!! Its obscene and we have said so but are getting overruled.... last time this happebed a few years ago, some were still there a year later.....

HomeEdRocks18 · 20/04/2019 07:27

None. We have a day out instead

BlueMerchant · 20/04/2019 07:29

DC 8&9
They had 8 nedium/large each off family members. I buy them a small treat £5-10 but not chocolate!. I allow them to open them as they receive them rather than hoard them all until Easter Sunday. Currently 10 1/2 in our cupboard!

jaseyraex · 20/04/2019 07:39

4 year old DS has got 5 from granny, grandad got him 2, he got one from nursery and our neighbours got him one. He has one big Kinder egg from me and DH along with some Thomas mini trains and an Easter sticker book. They do last ages though at least, he's never allowed to eat one all in one go. He's still on Christmas chocolate atm.
9 month old DS has a little moo-free chocolate bunny bar, some Easter soft toys from the Disney store and a "that's not my bunny" book. Granny however has got him 2 big moo-free eggs (that DH will probably eat!), some moo-free buttons, a giant bunny soft toy and clothes. There's no stopping her!

NancyJoan · 20/04/2019 07:42

One each, plus a few wee ones from the Garden egg hunt. Family don’t give them eggs, for which I am grateful.

Fazackerley · 20/04/2019 07:48

One lindt bunny, one egg.

Nodancingshoes · 20/04/2019 07:49

2 each from us, 1 from my dsis, 1 from my nan and 1 from my aunty. So 5 - plenty I think. Not sure I'd want them getting many more - simply because I would end up eating them... 😂

HennyPennyHorror · 20/04/2019 07:50

I used to get mine about 10 each plus loads of tiny ones to hunt.'

It's silly though...plus they've just had a lot spent on them for a trip away before Easter.

I've got them 2 boxed ones each plus a few bags of mini ones to hunt. They're too old to hunt really but wont' give it up!

3in4years · 20/04/2019 07:53

I buy lots of small eggs to hide in the garden, then invite friends round to hunt for them together.
They have been given some kinder bunnies by my sister, I'll add them to the treasure hunt.
They have also been given an egg each by my aunt, which I've hidden. They can have that much later.

AJPTaylor · 20/04/2019 07:55

One proper one each plus a an egg hunt. They are 24,21 and 11! It's not Easter without an egg!

TrashPanda · 20/04/2019 07:55

We have 3 DC, 9, 4 and 1. The oldest has a large minstrels one and the younger 2 have small eggs with a cuddly toy. They also have a pot of Easter shaped chocs from Lidl each. These are from us.

So far they have 2 fake Lindt bunnies each, Sainsbury's from a family friend and Aldi from my parents. They've been given a bunny shaped chocolate lolly from John Lewis by partner's cousin.

We will be seeing MIL and cousins on Sunday for her annual egg hunt and MIL will have got them a present each plus the small egg hunt eggs of which there will be a mountain.

The 9 year old isn't fussed on chocolate and will probably eat the minstrels but give the actual egg to his dad. The middle one is a choc fiend and will have to be rationed. The baby will have a few choc buttons and his dad and older brother will eat the rest.

I don't like chocolate so my Easter treat was a hair cut Grin

DerbyRacer · 20/04/2019 08:02

My ds only likes moo free eggs. I gave him 2 and my mum gave him 2. Any other eggs he gets which won't be moo free he gives to me to eat. He also gets toys and money from relatives.

Beanzy78 · 20/04/2019 08:06

I started with saying I'll only buy one large egg each, but then have bought them a small one too. Going to the mil for an Easter egg hunt, so they'll get lots of hollow eggs in their basket plus family ones too. And friends and neighbours have bought them some too.

Just means we'll be eating Easter eggs for weeks/months.x

Pyjamaface · 20/04/2019 08:10

2/3 small or medium from me, one from each of the aunts/uncles and a large one from my parents plus a small truck load from the egg hunt DM does. My pantry is going to be 80% chocolate for a while

Siameasy · 20/04/2019 08:11

I bought her one and she has been given 3. I told her she has to give one to the food bank.

TreadingThePrimrosePath · 20/04/2019 08:13

Used to be one from parents, and a chocolate shape from grandparents ( bunny, penguin, car...) plus an egg hunt with12 eggs.
Now they are in their 20s, we all get two eggs and the surviving grandparent gives a small Lindt bunny. The egg hunt has evolved, we hide 3 eggs each and then go look!
