How many Easter eggs do the DC get from you including from family?

OP posts:
Loyaultemelie · 19/04/2019 22:36

So far dds have 7 (large) 2 small, from friends and will have 1 more for definite from my DPs possibly another from NDN. I hate how much chocolate they get but really appreciate that people care about them so just ration it out. From us/Easter bunny I do an egg hunt with little wooden toys in to top up their collection and their big tin egg will have a little backpack shaped like a donkey because I saw it in random Donkey sanctuary leaflet and fell in love with it and I'm too old for my own one

Bacardi101 · 19/04/2019 22:36

My DD’s have one medium size one each from the Easter bunny and lots of tiny ones that will be part of the egg hunt but I have bought them a hoop thingy no idea what they are actually called from me for Easter they are 5 and 3

Zoflorabore · 19/04/2019 22:46

Ds (16) has a large golden eggs one. Dd (8) has an LOL one with a secret diary and another medium size egg.

They get money from family or clothes aswell as Easter eggs.

Easter is not as big as it was when I was a child when we got tons of eggs.

My ex sil always used to go OTT and buy her 4dc at least 10 big eggs each and then post the piles on FB. I'm glad I don't have to see that crap anymore Grin

Islands81 · 19/04/2019 22:47

None.

Neither of them like chocolate. Little weirdos.

Raspberrytruffle · 19/04/2019 22:48

1 off us, 1 of grandparents, 1off auntie so they usually get 4 in total

Brilliantidiot · 19/04/2019 22:50

DD 16, will get one from me, she'll get one from her dad and one from my mum. Maybe one from grandad on the other side and something from my sister, but it's unlikely to be chocolate.
The fact I've bought and eaten 3 since they started in the shops 'for DD' s totally irrelevant 🐷

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/04/2019 22:54

Mine are late teens and still like their Easter Bunny Delivery Grin

DS got 2 large eggs+ a Cadbury bunny, some small eggs, Malteaser bunny (mini) , skincare stuff and some money in a gold egg

DD got 1 large , I medium, Cadbury bunny, Lindt bunny , mini eggs, Malteaser mini bunnies , a nice Easter mug and a teeny rabbit toy .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/04/2019 22:57

Islands you are checking their scalps for the 666 signs right now , yes?

PhillipeFellope · 19/04/2019 23:10

Grin Grin Grin

DS has loads of the little lindt bunnies, malteaster bunny, tiny kinder egg, ones in nets type thing. Plus a few slightly bigger ones. But he's got a Pez, some Thomas mini trains and some crayons, lollipops and a couple of the bigger kinder eggs too for his egg hunt. He gets a big Easter present too which is what the eggs all lead to. He's 2.5, he won't eat it all by a long stretch. We'll melt some for crispy cakes and we'll all nibble the rest until it runs out.

Islands81 · 19/04/2019 23:17

@70isalimitnotatarget - I’m not even sure if they’re mine to be honest. I want a maternity test.

funinthesun19 · 19/04/2019 23:20

1 giant one and 1 small one from us. And then loads from various family members. They always get too much but Mummy is always here to help them eat them Wink

MrsDragonLady · 19/04/2019 23:23

I’ve bought the older children one smallish egg each, and a mini smarties animal thing (3 for £1).
But then my sister, brother, parents and MIL have all bought them one each too. So they have 5 eggs each. I always ask for no eggs, but they insist.
My eldest has SN and left on her own would eat them all in one sitting then throw up. So we have to hide everyone’s eggs and dish out a bit at a time.
Middle one doesn’t really like chocolate so will maybe eat one then ask me to make the rest into chocolate covered strawberries or cakes.
Youngest will eat them slowly and sensibly, then get fed up and tell me to get rid.

I’m breastfeeding and the baby is dairy free, so no secret nibbling for me!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/04/2019 23:25

Islands you need to test them with the ultimate in chocolate ( I would recommend Lindt Sea Salt ) and see if it snags them.

If there isn't a flicker behind the eyes then I think you need to go back to the Maternity Wing and demand a refund.

The hospital mine were born in has been demolished so I have no chance .

Easter Eggs are the ideal situation to teach tardy teens that it is Good to Share Grin

MondeoFan · 19/04/2019 23:26

My 2 DDs get 2 boxed eggs each, plus I buy 20 tiny teeny ones in wrappers in net bag to do egg hunt with
My parents (who aren't speaking to me) put money through the door in an envelope £20 and in laws sent £5 each in the form of a postal order.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 19/04/2019 23:29

Mine have a few of the £1 offer ones from us and some money to spend. They usually get one for school and a couple from family and friends.

Justajot · 19/04/2019 23:32

Mine get to choose one each - about 250g. We've got some small ones for a hunt. That's it. My parents wouldn't want to get them one and PIL ask each year and we ask them not to buy any. It may sound mean, but we really need to reduce the crap they eat.

Adreamaday · 19/04/2019 23:44

One each and a small egg hunt.

HalfBloodPrincess · 19/04/2019 23:44

Two teens have a large one from my mum, a large and a small from me and a t shirt each.

Toddler has a large one from my mum, a pj masks egg with bowl/cup and a small one from me, plus some pocket library books.

No one else buys for them.

slappinthebass · 19/04/2019 23:44

I saw the this posted elsewhere... this is for one toddler. From one parent. Apparently it's fine, because he will just get one a day as a treat. Grin

Mine usually get one boxed small or medium egg each, plus a chocolate bunny, a marshmallow lollipop, a spring themed book or a small soft toy and then some small foil eggs to hunt which usually get shared out for anyone/guests me . This year they've each got an egg shaped bath bomb too. They will also get one each from both sets of grandparents, maybe an auntie or uncle if we happen to see them.

BobBobBobbingAlong · 19/04/2019 23:47

Teens. One medium sized supermarket egg,
I took them to the odd Easter egg hunt when they were younger but they are beyond that now.

wlv12 · 19/04/2019 23:52

Aged 9-12 here.

Family don’t buy, I tend to over-compensate Blush .
They have 2 large eggs each (one bought on a whim yesterday after spotting large kinder eggs in co-op), a medium and a chocolate Lindt bunny. Plus small eggs to find on our Easter egg hunt.
They’ve also got a new book to read each as there’s a new diary of a wimpy kid book out and the youngest wanted to read the hobbit.

BrieAndChilli · 20/04/2019 00:00

Mine have a very large plastic egg filled with little eggs/bunnies/crepe eggs/mini packs of haribo etc,
They have a big egg from us
They normally get 3-4 big eggs from family but were given money instead this year
They one an big egg each at bingo and DD won a big egg at afterschool club.
It will last until the summer holidays as they don’t eat them all at once. We’ve only just finished xmas choc and we are normally still eating Halloween sweets after Xmas.
They are by no means rationed and it still takes ages to get through.

CuppaSarah · 20/04/2019 06:58

Most years I give them about 100 of the larger ones each, unless I don't. Then I give them a hard-boiled egg each and if they're lucky a bounty celebration left over from Christmas.

Just depends on which extreme I'm feeling that year.

Oysterbabe · 20/04/2019 07:03

We've bought DD, who is 3, a pretty small egg that's comes with a cream egg. Yesterday she got, and promptly scoffed, a little mini bucket of eggs and coins from an Easter egg hunt our neighbour set up around the cul-de-sac. She'll get another 2 from DH's family. We're not seeingy family this year, but if we were she'd get 4 from them.
Far, far too many. They'll be rationed and we'll eat some. She's lucky to have a lot of people around her who want to treat her.

Inliverpool1 · 20/04/2019 07:05

1 each I will but on Tuesday for half price
