My poor poor arsehole (Tmi galore)

I have ulcerative colitis and chronic constipation so it's all or nothing. I also have internal piles which have been unsuccessfully operated on, which bleed every day. To add to the above, I now have an ulcerated bloody anus Sad

It's a constant bloody battle. Blood, mucus, pain. Is it the colitis or the piles or the constipation? Are these ulcers colitis related or from too much wiping due to blood and mucus??

I know you can't answer and I need to show my arse to yet another doctor but aibu to want a bloody break from my stupid fucking defective arsehole?? Angry

No advice just pleased you omitted a pic!! Happy Easter, maybe something chocolate to distract you?
Or Sudocrem?

NaiceToMeetYou · 19/04/2019 21:18

Haha don't worry, I wouldn't inflict that on anyone other than my gp Grin

Oh dear. That sounds horrible. Can the surgeons give your bum a rest .

Singlenotsingle · 19/04/2019 21:19

Poor you! Shock

tenbob · 19/04/2019 21:21

I don’t want to sound at all woo, but if you use Instagram, look at ‘devon gut doctor’ who is a specialist in UC and has a (very strict vegan) diet plan he gives to his patients which seems to have miracle results

NaiceToMeetYou · 19/04/2019 21:22

Thanks for the sympathy. It's obviously difficult as you can't exactly stop using it until it's healed Sad just feeling sorry for myself today.

I have a very dear friend with UC so I am very good at sympathising on this subject. It really is utter shit in every connotation of the word. Poor you. Sudocrem and whatever makes you feel better about life is my prescription until the GPs open again x

Merename · 19/04/2019 21:26

Ohno poor you and your arsehole. Impressive that you have any degree of sense of humour after all that. Hope things improve soon Flowers

megletthesecond · 19/04/2019 21:27

Sympathy from me. I had years of IBS and ended up with awful fissures. I've had botox to fix them Grin .
As long as I don't eat too much and keep healthy they shouldn't come back.

Sounds horrid. Bepanthen rather than sudocrem though.

SnapesGreasyHair · 19/04/2019 21:34

What can they do long term for you though? Would resting your bowel i.e colostomy eventually be the answer?

Yoozanaim · 19/04/2019 21:40

I have heard about the Devon Gut Doctor too - I think that could well be worth a shot for you. www.devongutclinic.com/

NellieBee · 19/04/2019 21:40

Sounds shit. In many ways! Sympathy and sudocreme xx

Yoozanaim · 19/04/2019 21:41

I would also cut out processed foods and added sugar. (I am not a nutritional professional - just to state that. Just suggesting this as something you could look into.)

NaiceToMeetYou · 19/04/2019 21:45

Kennehora God I'm so sorry, it truly is shit. Hope you get treated soon Flowers

Snapes a temporary stoma is a last resort tbh, it'll be diet/medication and sympathetic looks Hmm

Bless you - my arsehole causes me no end of grief. I have a poo weekly and the rest of the time have to manually excavate the err...excrement. There is no beginning to my glamour. I completely sympathise.

NaiceToMeetYou · 19/04/2019 21:49

I will have a look at that Devon gut clinic, thanks. Weirdly though, the UC is actually the least problematic of my ailments! I've only had 1 serious flare up since my diagnosis 2 years ago. Unless these ulcers are indeed UC related, in which case ignore my last statement Hmm

Humour is 100% needed when every doctors appointment starts with 'on your side, knees to your chest'. You learn to joke through the embarrassment.

What did you have done? I had a THD which honest made zero difference.

Boysey45 · 19/04/2019 21:53

Keep eating prunes and apricots, I cant see anyone being constipated after eating prunes.

WeeDangerousSpike · 19/04/2019 21:54

Christ, loads of sympathy for you here. Me too with the UC, soreness. I'm on a course of steroids at the minute to kick it into touch, so far they seem to be working... But oh my god the wind! I've gone from pooing about 15-20 times a day to 2 or 3, but the wind hasn't reduced at all, its just concentrated into fewer incidences. I reckon I could float around the house with not much effort. And none of my clothes fit from the bloating. My arse aches. Constantly. I'm sure people can tell there's something wrong by the way I walk and move.

I watched the Paleo Way on YouTube - there was a woman on that who said she has gone from being hospitalised to in remission with no drugs just by going Paleo. Unfortunately I have neither the organisation or the willpower to try it at the minute. and I live off bread but it looked worth a punt, maybe.

NaiceToMeetYou · 19/04/2019 21:59

Boysey45 believe me when I say I've tried every constipation cure in the book. Chronic constipation is different to being a bit bunged up, 10-14 days without a bm is normal. 3 consecutive glycerine suppositories didn't do a thing, prunes will barely make me fart Grin

pink1173 · 19/04/2019 21:59

I FEel your pain. I have UC and have chronic constipation. Finally after nearly 2 years I seem to have it under control. For me I have to use Pentassa suppositories for two weeks and a laxative in tablet form. I take the laxative before I go to bed and that helps me to go in the morning. Had to really experiment with this but it seems to be working. At the slightest hint of a flare up I go back on the suppositories. I also take two propbiotics a day. It is a really hideous condition and I honestly thought I would never get it sorted. Hope you feel better soon.
