I'll go first!

Replenishing my baby changing bag at the end of the day- ie. filling with new nappies, wipes, topping up my formula powder pot, fresh Muslin cloth & bib all ready for the next day

Tidying the living room, plumping pillows etc before I go to bed so it's nice and tidy in the morning

This one's got to be popular- emptying the washing basket 🧺 --for all of five minutes!!

Turning down the beds and shutting the curtains making the bedrooms all cosy for night time

I know I know- I'm very sad! Would love to hear other people's! ....

I love seeing my grocery shopping through the till. I feel like an actual grown up being responsible for a household. I’m 39 and been doing it 20 years...

Theoldwoman · 11/04/2019 12:46

Great thread OP!

I love turning down the beds too, esp in winter. Soft lamps add a nice warm glow.
Hanging out washing.
Clearing the dining table after meals, wiping it all down and placing flowers/fruit bowl in the middle.

managedmis · 11/04/2019 12:46

What is actually wrong with you all?!

Grin
Monty27 · 11/04/2019 12:55

@junebirthdaygirl
Are you me? I actually sing "reunited and it feels so good..." When reconciling long lost separated socks.
Not out loud though, I'm not that bad. What do you take me for? Grin

BummyKnocker · 11/04/2019 14:11

I had somebody come fix my oven this week. He took the door off so, while he was fetching stuff from the van, I took the opportunity to hoover all the crumbs up that had collected over the years it was SO satisfyingSmile

A masterstroke I thought, except I wasn't wearing my glasses and the really big ones that I'd dislodged were in fact the screws to the oven door. Blush

HugoBearsMummy · 11/04/2019 17:03

@BlindAssassin1 yes! I love getting rid of excess packaging too especially if I can put it straight in the recycling Grin

@Jinglejanglefish OMG a bed "makes" a bedroom- mine must be made beautifully with scatter cushions, throw, the whole shabang! Love making my bed in the morning. Wow betide my husband if he dares sit on it afterwards lol

Woe!

Ahl134 · 11/04/2019 17:08

Don't enjoy anything but like the end results.
One thing I love, which doesn't happen often enough because of the weather, is being able to strip the bed, wash the bedding, get it outside to dry and making the bed up again with those fresh sheets straight from the washing line. Leisurely shower then climbing into the fresh bed is the best feeling ever!

HugoBearsMummy · 11/04/2019 17:10

@Theoldwoman thank you ☺️- also I'm glad I'm not the only weirdo person who turns down beds. I never used to do it, it's been since I've had children I do it in DS toddler bed and DD cot too 😂 I love it & yes especially in winter...

OP posts:
Jinglejanglefish · 11/04/2019 17:10

But nobody goes in the bedroom after we get up and dressed! Unless me and DD go for a nap in which case we're just getting back in the bed.

decimalpoint · 11/04/2019 17:11

Love the crunchy noise when the Hoover sucks up dirt

Other than that I bloody hate cleaning and chores

LakieLady · 11/04/2019 17:12

I hate doing any of it. But I do like to see a linefull of shirts dancing in the breeze, and I love the feeling of getting into a bed with clean bedlinen on.

If ever I came into millions, I'd buy the best Egyptian cotton bedlinen I could find and have the staff put clean linen on my bed every single day.

Ohyesiam · 11/04/2019 17:19

I hate it all but love the results.

Oh ok, I do like pottering round the kitchen and seeing it transform from messy to clean,

CaptainPovey · 11/04/2019 19:30

@HugoBearsMummy

Turning down the beds - what is that and what do you do?

Do you do it every day?

LaurieMarlow · 11/04/2019 19:36

what is that and what do you do?

I was wondering that too Grin

happyhillock · 11/04/2019 19:43

Doing the food shopping online
Cleaning the kitchen
Fresh sheet's on my bed
Opening window's on a nice day
Clean bathroom

LaurieMarlow · 11/04/2019 19:46

I love doing the food shop actually, but didn’t think that ‘counted’ for the purposes of this thread.

Newadventure · 11/04/2019 19:50

Hoovering!! Grin

Ohhellothereladyface · 11/04/2019 19:52

I do like a nice clean hob so wiping the kitchen down each night is bit of a treat.
I also have a bit of a fetish for recycling.

CMOTDibbler · 11/04/2019 20:10

I farkin hate housework, and none of it brings me the least joy.

The only daily task that gives me pleasure is letting the chickens out as they bustle out so happily

Fr3d · 11/04/2019 20:22

I don't mind ironing and sometimes cleaning windows. I like baking.

I hate closing the curtains, emptying the dishwasher and clearing the table most.

Jinglejanglefish · 11/04/2019 20:25

topping up my formula powder pot

How does this work? Where do you get the hot water from? I use the little bottles of premade if we're out all day

HugoBearsMummy · 11/04/2019 20:27

@CaptainPovey @LaurieMarlow Turning down the beds involves removing decorative pillows, scatter cushions & throw, pulling back the duvet a quarter of the way, plumping the pillows I sleep on. I then shut windows & curtains & make room all cosey. In DS bedroom it's just a case of removing cuddly toys off bed & pulling back duvet & then shutting curtains etc.
I just like that it's ready to get in to right away when I'm really tired & ready to retire for the evening lol 😂. I realise I sound about 90 years old but I'm actually only 31 haha

OP posts:
badlydrawnperson · 11/04/2019 20:32

Not exactly a thrill but I have come to really like ironing - yes really. I don't need to do stacks but I enjoy it.
